If you want to complete the SPIDER SMASHER badge - which is needed for an accolade -"Born in Battle" I think.. head to Marconeville in Port Oaks and go back and forth between the giant fountain square and the concrete wall that backs up to a hill. Took me about 30 mins to get 125 last night.

LOLZ - Thats why you dont hit the power in the middle of a battle, unless you just like to gamble. Still, same thing happened to me at the end of an Oro SF (and I was the tank) and I had to hop up and down to watch the rest of the team beat down the AV.

Quote:I didnt have great luck on mine either.. from now on Im sticking into just trading them in 5 merits at a time for something really usefulIt is rare for me to roll a new toon, I really enjoy the high level game, and I don't have any form of alt-itice. I have been with the game off and on since launch have 4 50s and enjoy playing them. On the rare occasion I am motivated to roll a new toon I plan his final build well in advance and have the enhancements ready to go when the new toon can start slotting the IOs.
So all that to ask, with the new HAMs I thought with 82? total slots to fill I should do a few rolls and see how many I can knock out at 5:1 before I start having to buy them 1:1 or 1:2 or on the market at their going inf rate.
Last night I did 3 rolls 15 recipes and not one was useful to my new toon. Disappointing to say the least.
Am I doing it wrong? does RNG hate me? how do ya'll do it ?
With that being said, about 2 weeks ago I had a whole 21 regular merits and said heck with it and traded 20 in for 1 random recipe and ended up getting a LotG Def -- guess it really is just a random act of YAYor Aww

What about us evil tankers that went to the redside? Maybe a co-op zone run every now and then?

Quote:just an FYI there was downtime and a quick patch today. Once that was pulled in, your computer verified files and did the 3.6 gig thing. It shouldnt do it every single time.. only if there was a patch.Hi,
I'm using the CoH trial from the official website. Last night, I downloaded the game, messed around, everything worked fine. Today I wanted to play again, but when I double clicked the CoH Updater, it asked me where I wanted to install it, then began the 3.6 GB download.
I looked around on the net, and noticed others having similar problems, but no solutions that worked. I'm trying the play on the US client, so renaming the updater for .eu doesn't work in my case (I did follow the instructions and it didn't work). I tried both double clicking from the installation folder and desktop, to no avail.
System info: I'm on Windows XP.
Thanks for help! -

you either need to run that mission to get more tips from killing enemies, or the one you have left is the morality mission

based on the fact that my 'knock-up' power is slottable for knockback, I would say yes

That badge text is wrong. Mother's "hospital" is the Behavioral Adjustment Facility in Northern IC. Several other badges and the heavy population of Seers point to this fact -
this is all I could find on Wiki

In my opinion, those are the ATs that are most frequently encountered, yes. Dont get me wrong.. built right, they can be monsters and have their uses for sure, but it just seems like a lot of people consider those ATs a 'must have'.

Quote:Yes, but I think you have to wait 7 days before going back (hero to vil then vil to hero)Indulge me, if you went full hero, could you then go back down the slippery slope?
(Oh, and I have no idea what SS/WP etc means, sorry!)
SS/WP is SuperStrength Willpower
SS/INV is Super Strength/Invulnerability
(regarding your question about archetypes) -
"Conversely, what are the opposite, the all too commonly seen ones?"
SS/WP SS/INV and Demon/Pain in my opinion
Also, the EATs are unlocked after your praetorian goes full villain or hero.. has to be completely one way or the other. -
Quote:I have to agree. So cut them some slack.
Does it suck? Sure!
Will it be fixed? Sure!
Was this intentional or through malfeasance or laziness? HELL NO!
I think when at 8pm my time last night there was a que of 68 people in front of me to get into my server... That tells you something about how many people bought the game, and how many people that means are coming back to CoX (and paying the 15$ a month charge). Based on this, I dont think NCSoft is sitting on their laurels. They have customers to lose - or gain, depending on how and how fast this issue is resolved.

Quote:Glad you made that edit - was about to refer you to the other 2,341 threads on the subjectHello,
I just returned to CoX about a week ago after leaving just prior to Issue 13. I had a total of 13 characters on my account when I left, which were all there when I came back (yay!). Today I purchased Going Rogue and wanted to try out a new character but I had no slots available to use (13 was my max apparently) so I decided to delete an alt that I had no interest in. After deletion my max is now 12! As I scroll over to the other character screen it shows slots 13-24 and 25-36 as unavailable! Why is that 13th slot no longer usable? I also thought that GR came with 2 additional character slots, where are those?
Thanks for any help you're able to provide.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw the problem with the store being down. -
1 Yes
2 Unless you can find the original name holder, no - you cannot get that name - someone else already has it and could possibly return to the game (is NCSoft's thought). I would have been a little upset if I came back to the game - which I recently did after a years time - to see my toons names genericed just because someone else wanted my names. -
Not only is it annoying, but I can remember running this arc around I8 with a full team and it was team wipe city like 3 times before we were finally able to get the job done. By far the most pain in the rear patron arc in my opinion.
