Simply amazing! I would race to my wife's purse for a comission if I weren't trying to improve my own skills. But you are always a good source of inspiration.
-
Wow, that is really cool. I like your style, it is so very unique.

Nah, he types out the words on a Speak and Say.

So we are back to he is a Wolf that can Type? O_o
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah, he tells his friend what to type.

It's actually done by the pavlovian method. I ring a bell and my friend types what I say into the speak and spell, then the voice recognition picks it up. -
Very cool! It couldn't have been planned better.

Hehe.
I know I have trouble thinking of LJ and Turbo as 'guys' too. Even though they ARE... behind the keyboard.
of course, there's probably a few folks who think I'm a 30-something black woman with a serious Afro.
Sadly, nothing could be further from the truth....

You all need to stop ruining my mental images! On the plus side, I am exactly who you think I am!
P.S. I agree, LJ is great! -
I knew that Tsoo brochure tag line was strange.
Tsoo. Where the men are women and the men are too... what!? -

Oooh... so suggestive pictures are 'maybe'?

*Goes to DA to look for said picture.* -
Thank you so much for the art LJ! You really brought it to a new level with the coloring. You have set the bar high for me to return the favor.

I'm actually going to dissuade the use of BlackRevolver's tutorial. There are MUCH simpler ways to do cell shading without worrying about making selections.
To color linework, here's what I do... (with Photoshop)
1. Scan in your artwork, inked or sketch, it doesn't matter at 300dpi (color/RGB).
2. Go to Layers. Select your background layer. Right click. A display box will come up with the option to duplicate layer. Click that.
3. Select Background copy. Now you're going to go to the dropdown box under Layers. On default it's set to normal. Change the layer property to Multiply. Set on multiply means that the linework will stay intact while you color UNDER it, just like an animation cel.
4. Select your FIRST background layer again, Create a New Layer by selecting the white rectangle next to the trash can at the bottom of the layers box. You can RENAME this layer to base colors, color, whatever you like. If you would like to do shadows on the same level, that's fine. Many people simply repeat the process with creating a new layer for shadows, and another for highlights.
Hope that helps.
As for the amentioned style, it's simply an 'animated' style. I would also like to put my vote in against Christopher Hart books. You'll learn a lot more by studying the artists you like...really.

Really? I just scan in the drawing and select linear burn for that layer, then I just keep that layer always on top. Does your way look better? I have been looking for a shortcut around digitally inking my stuff, i.e. making my scanned pencil lines look smooth and solid. -
Could you put up bigger pictures? It's hard to see the pattern on the costume.
-
I say mistformsquirrel is in the lead with her 80's catgirl.
-
Wow! Thank you so much LJ! What a cool surprise to find when I log in.
-
Very cool ship designs! I can't draw mechanical things. Symmetry on that level is difficult for me. How do you do it?
-
I really like her smile in the first one. It's very charming.
-
Congrats to the people who got picked. I have to say, good choices.
-
Okay, but you won't believe me.
Sharm El Sheik, Egypt - went snorkeling for the first time
Sal Islands near Portugal
Brazil
Barbados
Costa Rica - went horseback riding through the jungle, got a tick
San Diego
LA
Bangor, Maine - had lobster pie
Keflavik, Iceland
Chester, England
Now in Paris, France
Went to all these places on a private jet with 15 super hot flight attendants. I have pictures of it. I suppose I can post them up. The unbelievable part is that it is not my jet. I am unemployed and I don't even know the guy who owns the jet. I am married to one of the flight attendants.
EDIT: Here are the girls I travel with. My wife is the one in the red dress.
I am the only guy in this picture. -
Psyche! No new drawings. Well, there are but I have no scanner at the moment so I can't show them to you. I have done more traveling in the past month than I have done in my entire life, and I have traveled a lot. But soon I will have access to a scanner and my tablet. Hopefully.
So I am letting you guys know that I am still on this. Also, some of you need to reload screenshots. -
Very cool stuff! I agree with you that you need work on poses. That stuff can be easy to find though. Everybody mentions Sports Illustrated or fitness magazines. I would add comics as well. Just remember, use them as an inspiration. Don't copy the poses or you won't get better at doing it. What helps me is I imagine what the character is doing at the moment. That helps me come up with the pose.

Pick me! Pick me! Please!

I'm sorry to hear you are leaving. I think we have a good RP community in the Whitmoore Apartments thread. Have you tried that? We would be glad to recruit you. First page here. Almost 1000 pages so I don't recommend reading it all. Here is a website with some background info. It has info on other good threads too.
EDIT: All the art in my gallery is the stuff I did. Doesn't count as commissions or gift art!
