As to an obvious meaning, I'd have to say it obviously wasn't to me. Also as it wasn't in a sentence I couldn't gauge the context and the previous posts didn't seem to have a connection to it, but I'm not the brightest torch in the box so probably missed it.

Then again you did mention it was a made up word, which answered my question, though that suggests it doesn't yet have a meaning and thus my ignorance is logical.

Anyway end of derailment and I'll let you get back to the relevant discussion.

But line quality also means, as you've stated, sturdier, stronger and more slender lines that have this little more assurance.

On a side note, what would be interesting, would be to print the Puma pic very lightly and get you to redraw over using the minimum amount of lines necessary. Just to see if you could have done the same picture using less jagged lines...

Thanks for the info, makes sense now. I might give your idea a go, but I'm tempted to move on and try something different or maybe do a redraw for practice and see if I can improve my line quality, now that I have an idea of the technique.

Cheers, yeah I went to that site when I read your reply. I just thought that maybe the reason it hasn't been removed after all this time is because it's also a famous sport product as well as the big cat also known as mountain lions etc. which were around before Marvel started.So perhaps unlike Spiderman etc. it might be immune to copyright. If it was Pumaman or something like that it would maybe be a possible law suit, but this is maybe different but I don't know. Will have to see what happens.

From my viewing your fantastic looking artwork, your comments mean a lot.

When you mention line quality is that where I maybe have darker lines when I need not to put so much pressure on or lighter or something else or both. Sorry I'm a real newb on technique and terminology.

Wow I never realised myself and that character of hers is about 40 months old or more. Unusual that nobody has mentioned it while she played her character. Must be a fairly unknown one. Oh well she'll probably be disappointed then.Think she was thinking of the mountain lion and not the marvel character as she doesn't read comics. Makes me wonder if it being a real life animal that it might not be copyrighted/trademarked by Marvel *shrug*

Ok not sure if this link will work as I've not done this before.
This is a sketch I have done of a fellow SG members character Puma.

The scan is not brilliant so a little faint, which may be a good thing. Also as she is wearing a mask I didn't have to draw the nose or mouth which is also a good thing. As you can tell I have no artist training but I do like to dabble, however I'm very pleased with the actual sketch so thought I'd scan and share it and see what others thought of it.

Might make me more confident to try and create something better.

I didn't sign up for the original group, but got a shout in-game from Captain Snow Speed who is an SG buddy. So as it was about to kick off, I created one of the set uniforms and just had time to change a few minor details. Went to Atlas and got my invite. Quickly hitting level 2 , we gathered and went into the sewers and it was an incredible amount of fun. So few faceplants , but taking down purples like they were blades of grass and we were the lawnmower. XP bar was filling faster than you could handle. 20 odd heroes made it a major group effort.

I reckon we could have travelled through the sewer system across Paragon City and got to 50 without doing missions, well it certainly felt like it. We've all got Flux now and I thing Frostfires gonna get ,pardon the Ice related pun, creamed. Probably several times.

Certainly looking forward to the next excursion. Hopefully I'll be available for it.

It's always helpful and useful to get a power specific guide and this will probably be an excellent one once it's polished up a bit.

I have noticed that you have mentioned the buff aspects in respect of kinetics, but a lot of these powers have useful debuffs of foes too.You have mentioned transfusion and -regen so that's helpful. Siphon speed will slow the target.I believe Siphon power might weaken the foe (not certain as I need a refresher on the set as not played mine in ages ).

Because of the debuffs some powers which you may think can be dropped are not necessarily worthless when you pick up something like fulcrum shift.

If you can note down these secondary aspects of the powers the guide will be more informative and thus much more useful.

Yes blind invites are impolite. I personally think it worse when someone sends a tell but doesn't wait for your reply before inviting.

I always tend to set my Looking For Group status when I'm after a team and if a blind invites sent, I accept after checking their level (as long as they aren't hidden).I see the LFG as an opening for all forms of invite but it's always more pleasant if someone asks and you can pick up a lot on a persons character by it I think.

If I haven't set my status then I just refuse blinds, but if someone sends a tell I am sometimes persuaded to change my mind. I'm sure sending tells gets a better result for accepts than blinds, but it's not easy to educate people. I always read search comments and send tells. Some people can't be bothered or can't read. Maybe they don't know what a blind invite actually is.

But your certainly not weird, there's nothing weird in wanting people to be polite.

Not had a chance to make one myself yet as my villain is just 46 , but would be interested to know what you thought of them. I'd probably know myself if there were SoA only contacts but not as yet had a chance. hehe

Maybe it's a bit off topic, but perhaps best to ask the first 50 who will know better than anyone.

The in-game remembrance party is an appropriate way to pay respects and remember a friend but I'm sort of wondering, as I didn't know him in person, whether this is something he would have been honoured and 'chuffed' to have been done for him or not.

I myself would not want it, and not because I wouldn't have been appreciative or overwhelmed by the respect and brotherly/sisterly love involved but because I would feel embarrased at the thought, like a surprise birthday party I would wish to disappear and the smile on my face would be hiding the fact that I wish I wasn't there.This is me of course and as I probably wouldn't even be missed on the boards it's a moot point anyway but ....

A different situation but something I think of was the WoW funeral where they held it in a PvP zone and they recorded this group of players heading towards where they were holding it, intent on ruining it. I have to say I thought it was funny at one point and knew people who thought it was a bit eccentric and daft to do something like this, and found it hilarious but to be honest it shouldn't be and of course it truly wasn't but I did still laughed at it. Maybe I was a bit naive and new to online games and how much it can affect you with friends made and lost who you may have never met or only a handful of times over the years, but you gain a platonic love for.

I would probably be glad to nip into Pocket D to raise a toast , but as I don't really know whether it was something he would have wanted - it's not something we'd expect or have reason to contemplate - but I perhaps would be a bit too apprehensive to do something he might not have been into. As some of you know him fairly well and his character and tastes, you probably know what he would want and so perhaps I'm being over cautious or concerned but again, that's me.

When did it happen ?

It must be well over a millenium now, the time of the norsemen, am I really that old ? Yes I truly am that old, and somedays I feel like it. Most days I get through with some happiness, as long as I don't remember the past or maybe if the day is quiet and my services not needed then I don't have to change my form and the memories of those long ago days brought back to me. I still look the same age as back then, in my early thirties, many people wish for the fountain of youth or to live forever, me I have wished for death often , too long a life. Valhalla awaits. Though I pray more for a Heaven so I can see my beloved again ...

I don't have the traits of Scandinavian people. My bright red hair is part of the curse. The curse of my human form is to take away the thing that makes me who I am and was. I remember the language but if I try and even say 'hejsan' it comes out as 'hello', pure and clear English and that is all I speak. The final and most heart rending part of the curse for me, is the granite form. If ever I raise my axe, which is my skill, something I can still hold onto from the days of the longships, then I am changed and my movement is slowed. An ugly form. Did I truly deserve this curse ?

Odin loves his punishments. I learned from my mistake though, I never profane the gods anymore but it doesn't look like I'm ever going to be forgiven for what I did ....

My anger was immense that day, enough to tumble mountains it seemed. The loss of my six year old daughter Linnea, killed by a wolf pack. I had no need to be away that day hunting. We had plenty of provisions for the Winter, no need for more. The sight of rended flesh and blood felt like a knife plunging into my heart when I realised the horror I saw with my eyes. My wife Silaya unreachable with her sorrow, a blooded hair ribbon held in her hand while she sobbed uncontrollably. The Gods had to answer.

Taking my axe in hand, as if an axe could strike Odin, I ran and headed to the nearest mountain to scale it and tell him what I thought. Odin is sometimes translated as fury and this was to be proven to me that day. With no measure of time and how long it took me, I felt the pangs of hunger but these were secondary to my thoughts of retribution, I managed to get to the highest point. Standing on a precipice I took my two-handed axe in hand.Fjärel or butterfly I called her, for the twin curved patterned blades that reminded me of butterfly wings. I shouted to the heavens and sealed my fate..

'Odin! You evil curr, why did you take her from me ? She was the purest of them all, loving and caring , her laughter and songs warmed hearts. You had no right you whoreson dog. You should have taken me !

With this I grabbed the bottom of my axe in both ands, spun round and launched it into the sky. My strength of wielding this huge heavy battle axe over the years had given me a massive amount of power and with the rage inside me this was doubled. The axe climbed to an incredible height. Suddenly it came to the top of its arc and stopped. Hovering in the sky, held in limbo the wrath of my God was about to be shown.

'You dare to curse the Gods puny mortal ! I have destroyed men for less but you shall have worse ! Living or dying is part of nature fool ! I do not choose, these things are beneath my notice. Men, women ,children and even babies die - it is the way of things !

'I feel no pity,I understand anger though, and for this reason I will not take your life. The punishment will be worse, and will be with you till the end of days. You will have to achieve true greatness to be forgiven and have your life back.

'Begone and beg and pray that one day you will feel my mercy, because death will be unreachable for you !

The axe travelled quickly towards me with such force. the blades struck me flat against the chest, any other direction and I would have been split in two. I was sent flying backwards and into unconsciousness and to the first of many nightmares.

Suddenly returning from my past thoughts, the day that could have been bareable was now going to be another painful one. The taste of salt on my lips from the tears I could never stop forming from my worse time in memory. I grabbed my axe. If I was going to be unhappy today I may as well do something good, maybe good enough to be forgiven ? Probably not today, I have patrolled many times and nothing. I can hope though ...

So in your everyday lives people of Paragon, you may see someone, that you judge. Maybe they are ugly to you or maybe look cold eyed. Maybe they are flame haired and you feel laughter inside for there misfortune. Maybe you see a beautiful blue eyed woman who looks like she's a wonderful caring person. I say don't ! You do not know what is truly beneath, and they may never even let you close to find out what they truly are. The ugly man could be the most good and decent, and the beautiful woman the most bad and ugly inside. Remember that.

This just seem to come into my head, and I actually thought it was a bit funny even though I wrote it myself. Yeah I always laugh at my own jokes.
Maybe not the most creative effort but of course the content is not necessarily true but sometimes seems like it's the case.

I tend to do a lot of thinking and imagining, sometimes with some weird images. For some reason I had this vision of a Mr Potato Head running around the streets of CoH and the idea sprouted (pardon the pun) into mind. He certainly wouldn't be sued by Marvel for copyright although Hasbro might have something to say.

I always intended it to be funny, though it started of seeming serious, I just didn't see it till it was finished but as it was done in an idle half hour I was quite pleased.

A New Kind of Hero

I really don't know what happened. I often go around Paragon and see the heroes of the city doing their bit for peace and good. I dreamed many times of being like one of them and to have powers to heal or control or maybe I might grow claws or something.

I got rejected from the army. I hoped to become an expert in the assault rifle and devices but it appeared I wasn't A1 , and found out that I had bad cholesterol and high blood pressure so I walked out the medical centre with my bottom lip dragging on the ground feeling inconsolable and worthless.

This is when my life got even worse. I was standing at the roadside a few weeks later, near to Miss Liberty. I had a chronic crush on her, and had been gazing at her for about half an hour as new heroes popped next to her. She did something weird to them that appeared to grant new powers or enhance existing ones. Giving up on my hero worship, I was going to cross the road to head home. Suddenly some outcast shot at a passing truck, with a sawn-off shotgun, hitting and bursting a tyre which in turn caused it to tip it's load of marked canisters.

The seals came off them as they fell into the road, and the worse bit, the canisters openings were typically pointing in my direction.

I tried to dive for cover but there was none and the next minute I'm swimming in a sea of yellow liquid. Was it urine ? maybe sewage ? I hoped not. Best news of the day was that it didn't appear to be any human waste. I had held my breath but risked a sniff on what had drenched me to the skin and it seemed to smell like chip fat. I looked at the diagram on one of the nearest canisters and blast ... Radioactive Material ! Also a small label saying to wear protective garments when handling the material. Did radioctive material truly smell of chip fat ?

The cleanup operation started then. Heroes cleared the way in minutes and I was sent to a medical centre for study, but nothing seemed to show up on the tests. Nothing was in the paper of who the material belonged to either, or what it was. Could have been a cover up I suppose, or maybe a joke and the contents were actually chip fat after all.

How wrong was I ...

A few weeks later the changes started to happen. My body mass and skin texture changed, my skin got darker and rough textured. and weird rumbling sounds seemed to come from my middle. I was constantly hungry for baked beans, cheese and chile or curry sauce. One morning I just chomped on a block of full fat butter in a matter of seconds. Weirder and weirder. That's how things started and it's got to where I am now.

People tend not to think of me as a hero, they usually wet themselves laughing as I stomp down the street to be honest, but maybe one day it'll be different.

But you will know me, oh yes you will. My deeds will be glorious.

I,Baked Potato Man, will triumph.

Squirting villains with mashed potato and many burning selections of toppings. They will beg for mercy or drown in a sea of melted butter. Death by curry sauce is not pleasant I assure you ...

Enjoy .... or not

Well I quite enjoyed the first evening of trick or treating and we achieved all the hunt badges as well as a bit of salvage in the kitty for costumes. Dutch set up his civvie costume and it looked smart and was excellent in SG mode (though you all know how poor my fashion sense is hehe).

Think what made it even better was that the Ascended proved it was still here. Just four of us, but was still great oh and Tech it was really good to have you back with us, even if for just a shorter time than we were used to.

GM badges was suggested for the weekend and I'll be looking forward if it happens, though P said something on the lines of 'GM hunting at the weekend' so if she says it then it's practically the law.

I'm having my hair cut (yes I still have a bit ) Saturday morning so hopefully with Tech's time difference I won't miss out too much on our small group. Any other Ascended out there are welcome of course (well I don't mind anyway )

I logged on with my non badge character Mighticle just to get more salvage and someone invited to team looking for Jack of Irons in Peregrine and it looks like he is rare as rocking horse .... compared with Eochai but hopefully he will make an appearance when we are all logged.

I have a problem with this in that I have the home page but none of the links are showing but I have an old version of Internet Explorer (company runs computers till they wear out rather than upgrade on new software). I can't install later than v5 on my work one (old operating system ) till I get my new one.

Also if you use firefox at work this could be a problem or maybe your company has a firewall that doesn't allow access to the port used for our website ?

Tech may have a better idea as he's more knowledgeable in that area.

Good to hear from you and that things are slowly getting sorted. I knew you had a new job which was mentioned in dispatches by yourself on a previous occasion, but also glad to hear you've got somewhere to hang your hat which I know you really needed as per a past google chat.

I'm not long back from Florida so this is first chance I've had to log on here. I've been on supermarras but not much activity on there at the moment due to us all being busy holidaying or studying etc. I expect to be getting a cold shortly as it's been averaging 92 degrees fahrenheit in Florida and landing in foggy Manchester at about 52 degrees was a bit uncomfortable, particularly when I'm wearing shorts and t-shirt brrrr.

I noticed your now Tower which is perhaps easier to remember hehehe though I had no problem with P14273059 (not a bad memory on some occasions forgotten what my name is though ).

Anyway not to sound too much like a pansy but I've missed yas and sure in their own ways the other guys have too and especially you know who as phone calls are expensive and the internet is much easier for you to keep in touch.

Any estimate as to when you'll have your PC and your connection set up? Twelve hours and soon 13 hours ahead of UK will be difficult but I can alter my pattern so we can get some gaming and stuff sorted. Hey we all can make sacrifices for marras.

Actually not had much sleep since last day in Florida and flying back I've managed to get about 17 hours sleep since 6:00 Thursday Florida time (11:00 UK/23:00 NZ). If you had been set up then I'd have probably been online a fair bit but having said that I .. .......... oops where was I ... Oh yeah I keep dropping off suddenly for about 15 minutes or so.
