Now my question to you, my scrappish colleagues. I'd like to squeeze Super Speed in since the character has always had it, and I'm quite fond of it. I also want vertical mobility and am DEFINITELY keeping Super Jump. Would it be unwise to switch kick and tough at 47 and 49 for Revive and Super speed? I could use the extra slots Shuriken or elsewhere, and Revive would definitely fit with the character's theme. I'm not sure if the loss of Tough would cripple the toon though. It does have an EXTREMELY high regen percentage after IOs and slotting.

Thanks for the opinions! This is my original toon... I've respecced the poor gal so many times I've lost count.
  2. Wish they'd set some guidelines out for who is elligible, etc. I'm not going to rant about feeling robbed, etc, since I know there's people that have been around much longer than myself (51 months vet badge, on and off since I3) and people that play more than myself (only have 4 50s).

The only closed beta I've ever been in was CoV, which felt more like a "clopen" beta, in that you could buy your way in.

Just goes to show how excited we all are about this issue I suppose, heh.
  3. Blast, but thanks. That's what I had assumed, though looking at them I had to wonder.
  4. Are the heal procs (Numina's, Miracle, and Regenerative Tissue) Static or activated procs? That is... are they like LotG and give you a permenant +25% to regen (in the case of RT) no matter what type of power they're placed in, or do they give you the bonus when a click or toggle power is activated?

    Thanks in advance!
  5. *Cough* This needs to be an in-game NPC. NOW. Nice art, nice concept!
  6. Yup... just about anything works. Gotta love scrappers. To break down playstyles though...

Regen- Fastest out of the gate with heals and quick recovery before level 10. Stays extremely playable for the life of the toon. Very clicky and requires constant attention, though. Extremely solo friendly.

WP- Regens evil cousin. Slower out of the gate but ends up quite nice. A good mix of defense, resistance, endurance, and regen. DOESN'T require nearly as much attention as Regen. Extremely solo friendly as well.

SR- My recent favorite. Probably the slowest out of the gate, save maybe Shield. Still, the endgame playstyle is... disturbingly awesome and easy to make yourself invincible. Not as solo friendly, however, unless you're patient.

Shield- Probably the least solo friendly, in my opinion. Very slow to start, slow to mature, and can require a fairly costly build. That said, with said exepenses, it's INCREDIBLY powerful in the late game... Near SR defeses, some resistance, and one of the more fun attacks in the game.

Dark/Fire- Lumped these two in together... havn't played dark to higher levels but they both tend to focus on higher damage output (Or in darks case, some mezzing as well). To balance, they don't have as good of defenses, though they both have admirable heals (though Dark Regeneration has one of the highest end costs of ANYTHING in the game... 1/3rd of your endurance unslotted). More solo friendly than you'd think, though.

Invincibility- Somewhat average.. plays more like a tanker set (Wonder why?!) than a scrapper set. A little slow out of the gate compared to others, but has excellent defenses and essentially capped resists with it's tier 9, for quite a while. Nice in the mid-late game.
  7. I'll start by saying that I havn't tested this build, but you asked for a build :-P

That said, this is the build I cooked up for myself to run. Flares at could be easily interchanged for Mind Probe or TK thrust if you prefer, but you'll have to take one of the three... I choose flares.

Ignore the IO sets, as it's a completely conceptual build at this point.

The focus was on maintaining a reasonable single target attack chain with fire blast, blaze, and flares, while having a superior AoE attack chain with fireball, fire breath, psychic scream, Psychic shockwave, and Static Discharge.

By 50 you'll be able to pull off a "god mode" between SoP and Charged Armor.

Drain Psyche I slotted entirely for end red, as you'll need MASSIVE amounts of endurance to feed all the AoEs.

Like I said, untested, but maybe it's a start?

  8. First 50 blaster was E^3. I play her about once a year or so.

I'm not sure why Elec/ is such low damage.

The secondary effect, though fun sounding, isn't effective in most situations, and is completely useless against late game threats like AV's, GM's, and the like.

Its psuedo-pet is, as Riverdusk mentioned above, terribly underpowered for blasters.

Its nuke is the least powerful that still has a crash. Granted... it does look pretty sweet and you can do it from range... and it's usually still enough to drop the minions and lieutenants if done after BU-Aim.

Is it unplayable? Heck no. But it's completely overshadowed by fire, archery, ice, etc. Viable but not that fun outside of conceptual builds.
  9. At work as well... though I also have mids up heh.

FS buffs you for a base 40%, plust 25% for each enemy in range. It debuffs enemy damage by 20%.
  10. All I'm gonna say is... for the love of god, please don't make combos out of this set.

I'd be all for a ranged set in the spirit of claws (moderate damage/recharge for all attacks but higher dps).
  11. Voting for Sonic here as well. Vary rarely see on... which I don't complain too much about. It's not terrible but the shields don't tend to help as much as FF's or Ice's def based ones. Some of the -res elements are nice though.
  12. Blackdragon1686

    Is this a farm?

That's what I would call a tribute mission. Unless you specifically rip a costume, name, background, etc, it usually doesn't constitute copyright infringement.

Now... is it a farm? Hell if I know. I don't quite understand the rules on that one or if they really care anymore now that they nerfed it to be reasonable xp. I can tell you there's far worse instances of missions you could farm out there. If you classify that as a farm, you could really classify some of the dev's missions as such as well.

More likely a tribute mission with poor writing.
  13. Hero: Three way tie:
Manticore/Blue Steel/Back Alley Brawler. I love naturals. Bad [censored] naturals.

Villain: Mako. He's awesome in a can. Also he's a shark.
  14. I'd love any more lore about the storm korps since I'm trying to refine an arc centered around them. The only one I know of that's named is Eisensturm. Are there more named ones?
  15. Sadness man... you've been awesome to the forum community and I think this game boasts one of if not the best forum on the net, in no small part to guys like you. Good luck wherever life leads you.

A small (utterly craptacular graphics wise, I had a bad comp then) pic of when lighthouse was new! Think it was the issue where vet rewards came out, as I remember thinking "ooooh trenchcoat!"

Lighthouse in Pocket D, getting his AR on.
  16. It's a GM I believe? And yes, it's in the air, which is VERY annoying for my scrapper.
  17. Hrm, reeeeeeeally hoping he means the 5th with the returning group, though I'd also want to see Requiem. Other than that....rock on Posi...rock on.
  18. I see most of AmazingMOO's points and I agree with all of them, but theres also one thing I would add. On the subject of adding content matter, I would really love to see more end-game content, from levels 40-50, maybe even epic content at lvl 50.

Oh one more thing...I know why you change the powers and such..but just go one issue without changing Regen...think of the scrappers
Ideas could be things like a story arc involving the council and finally unmasking "the center", perhaps the return of hero 1, although i know that is currently in the works. A second rikti invasion on a much smaller scale. And i'm sure you could come up with much better ideas.
Also, it would be nice to have another city wide event. Everybody loves them!
