What, do you have something against such a minor little change for a little more consistency with the type of things we are summoning?
I mean, they obviously felt it wasn't right to be used for the Bot MM, so why not use the animation for that for the other tech style summons?
Don't argue with me over semantics. I don't feel it looks like anything but magic and I would like a tech style summoning animation for the tech style pets instead. Okay? Can I suggest that?
If you don't want it, fine. Just say you don't want it. Don't tell me how I should look at it the way you do.

It's only a magical casting animation if you decide it is. IMO, the animation itself is rather origin agnostic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which CC emote animation does it appear to be exactly like? ccCast
And that came with which Booster Pack? Magic
Seems pretty definitive to me.
It's a little thing I know. But really it's the little things that make the difference sometimes.
-
I've been wondering on and off (since I really don't pop any of my vet pets out very often), why do we do a magical casting animation for every single vet pet summon?
I mean, it's obvious the devs went to the trouble of thinking of different origins when they designed these things, giving us all kinds of choices, but then they just left them all with the same magic summoning animation.
My suggestion is to add at least one other kind of animation for the Tech style pets like Shield Drone or Miniature Mechman.
It would be nice to have a different animation for each different choice, but I don't really know what other animations they could use.
A simple remote control on the arm kind of thing (like when opening the Ouroportal or summoning MM Bots) would work beautifully for tech style summons.

Been testing these a lot myself. There are a lot of minor issues that have risen as of this change. Check out my thread in Technical Issues to see what issues I have found. Add more if you have heard any.

Do 5 Newspaper missions, then talk to your Broker (either Isabel the Knife or Ian the Shark) and get a Mayhem mission. Complete the mission and you will receive a choice of introductions.
I generally run three Mayhems before doing any contact missions whenever I enter a new zone. This insures that I can get all of the contacts possible for that range before I outlevel them.
I do it like this:
Run 5 Paper missions
Accept Mayhem
Run 5 more Paper missions
Run and complete Mayhem
Accept new Mayhem and Get first contact
Run 5 more Paper missions
Run and complete Mayhem
Accept new Mayhem and Get second contact
Run and complete Mayhem
Get third contact

I have tried this several times with several different characters and settings.
Whenever I Save a costume that has altered Head scales, it will not load with those scales. It instead loads the default settings for the Head. The scales for the Body appear to load normally every time, no matter what model is used.
Has anyone else noticed this? I couldn't find it listed in Known Issues and I didn't see any other threads that mentioned it.
-
I find it odd that it would even acknowledge your existence. The last time I flew in the Fliers path in Mercy it just pushed me out of the way. Have they changed something recently?
-
For a while it seems, you guys have been messing with the Contact images for Radio, Golden Roller and Archmage Tarixus.
I just wanted to let you know, they keep getting worse. Go back to the originals, please.
The new image for Archmage Tarixus pushes his name and progress bar up and over causing the whole contact window to look just plain odd.
I don't see why the image was replaced in the first place. It was a close up image of Tarixus. What was wrong with that? Ditto for the Radio and Golden Roller.

Some arcs give an unusually large completion bonus. Also, were you playing a hero or a villain? Some villain arcs are considered "mini-arcs" despite their length, and give a smaller, if any, completion bonus.
[/ QUOTE ] I had not thought about the difference between mini-arcs and Major-Arcs. That could indeed be the difference right there.
OP: Do you remember the exact arcs you ran so we can check?
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought you meant was I outside the mission when I spoke to the contact.
As for what missions it was the contact was Timothy Raymond, the Lost guy in Nerva. His first arc gave that HUGE bonus and his second one the tiny one.
[/ QUOTE ]
There you go. The first arc was his Story Arc, the second was his Mini-Arc. He has one of each.

Brick and cement structures at the PTS power plant (both in the Cap Au zone map and in the PTS exterior mission maps) sound like metal when you are running on them.
The metal grates that appear in the center of the hallway floors in Laboratory and Arachnos maps are also wonky. Some of them will sound correct, like metal, while others sound like the rest of the floor.
The metal grates in Cargo Ship maps also do not sound like metal any more.
Sloshing sounds when walking in water also missing from interior PTS, "Find truth behind PTS" mission map.
Also, the sounds appear to be missing for both the VanguardSigil and Spin CC emotes.

The point I was trying to make though, is that if you DO want to play a natural-origin human character, none of the current control sets really fit. Every other archetype (kheldians and doms not included) has power choices that can be played as a straight-up vanilla human. No weird race, no superpowers. A watchmen style hero if you will. Controllers and dominators simply don't. And they should.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, wouldn't using grenades technically still be "science" or "tech?" Depending how far you want to take it, a "Natural Human controller" shouldn't exist, unless you can get enemies to stand still long enough to pile dirt around them or get them to fall into a pit you dug. Alternately, go for some of the Tank or Scrapper sets and slot for stuns.
And if using bits of tech (grenades) is fine for that, why isn't having a device to work on all the other varied effects controllers have?
Not against a "grenade" based set - heck, we have trick arrow as a controller secondary - but if you want to be strict about "natural meaning natural human," you've got a heck of a time coming up with a set that actually matches that.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. Mind control is probably the strongest current contender if you call it "Cult of Personality" or something like that. But I think of grenades as devices, and therefore sci or tech, not natural - same for Trick Arrow, Archery, AR, Devices and Traps, BTW.
[/ QUOTE ]
In most comic books a character that uses low tech devices is still considered Natural human as these are devices that anyone (given the right connections and money) can use. It is only the high tech devices that move them into the realm of Tech and it is only the use of chemical substances that are unobtainable by any normal means that moves them into the realm of Science.

I have a feeling that if they put everything we'd HOPE for in the Mutation pack, it'd be like a 30$ investment
Multiple eyes, eyestalks (OH that would rule), bigger tails, smaller tails, messed up arms, weird legs, squished head... SQUID head...

Besides having TP to every zone, I also think putting down the teleporters in some sort of organized fashion is important. I hate when I have to randomly hunt to find the correct teleporter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like this?
I tried to put them in order by lvl range, but also put adjoining zones together, while keeping the area compact, but not crowded:
Atlas Park
Galaxy City
King's Row
Pocket D
Perez Park
The Hollows
Skyway City
Faultline
Steel Canyon
Boomtown
Talos
Dark Astoria
Independence Port
Terra Volta
Croatoa
Striga
Brickstown
Crey's Folley
Founder's Falls
Eden
Peregrine Island
Rikti War Zone
The large room can also easily fit the Raid TP if/when it ever becomes needed again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Several of the SGs I'm in seperate hazard zones from normal city zones, then have red lighting for the hazard zone teleporters.
[/ QUOTE ]
My SG on Justice color codes by level. We have the porters separated into two different rooms. Blue for low level zones (Atlas-Steel, arranged the same way as above) and Red for higher levels (Talos-Peregrine).
Color coding the rooms does help memory retention for most of our members.

Upon further playing I have also noticed that the door sounds for Sewer Grates, Manholes and Stone Boulder doors appears to be missing as well.
Also, the roof of the Train Stations appears metallic but sounds like cement. Ditto for Ferries in the RI.

Interesting. I knew that Imperious was the Cimeroran version of Statesman, but I didn't know they had had versions of the entire Phalanx.
So would Daedalus be their version of Positron or is he BaB?

Would it be possible to make them available if say the account is unpaid for like 6 months or 12 months no matter the level of the toon?
[/ QUOTE ]It's a bad idea. The single biggest reason someone will return to an MMO that they previously quit is that their characters remain as they were
[/ QUOTE ]
You're right. I retract my support of this suggestion.

But MY point is: until people actually don't care any more, by exposure to the "real" furry community, that mistaken definition will continue. What better place than here, to start whittling away at that impression?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because NCSoft isn't going to explain it all to everyone the moment they announce it. You can sit here explaining it to each person who comes in here. NCSoft can't do that.
Just imagine...
Paragon Studios is proud to announce the Furry Pack! Now remember furry does not mean the same thing you may think it means, etc., etc..
Sorry, but in order to really break through the misunderstanding you're going to need a more widespread form of media to do it since that is what messed up your reputation in the first place.
You need a movie (maybe a situational romantic comedy) that exposes the real furry community to the world. Until you get something like that people will assume what they have already seen in that media when the word is spoken/written.

The reason this hasn't been done in 4 years (has it really been that long?) is because it wasn't considered to be very successful at all. While many names were freed up, none of them were the really popular names that people seem to want. It seems the people who got the popular names stayed with the game, or at least leveled up beyond 6th before they quit.
So, even if they were to do this again, it's more than likely that the name you want so bad will still be taken when it's done.
What they should do is increase the time span and scope of the wipe. I would have it affect all characters on any account that has been inactive for more than a year (like the OP suggests). That should free up a larger number of names that people might actually like to have.

Jeeze... I need to get some of that then. Thanks for the replies.
Now I need to find out some cheep IO sets to get for this.

Not as "necessary" as it used to be since they removed the damage buff from Domination and gave it Dominators full time with Issue 15.
The mez mag and duration increase, mez protection, and end bar refill are still nice, though.
edit: I don't think it can be done "cheaply." The lowest cost perma Dom build I have seen runs close to a billion infamy.
[/ QUOTE ]
With a lot of penny pinching, working the market and lucky drops, I managed to get a perma Dom build for less than 11 mil.

So remember the "survey" from last August that asked hoe folks felt about power customization, changing sides, and creating your own missions? It also mentioned a Rogue Spy AT.....anyone think we'll actually get a new AT in Going Rogue?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think we will.
It just makes sense that an expansion would be the perfect way to introduce a new EAT, since they promised no more achieving level 50 to unlock such things. Plus, this one EAT would be available to both sides, starting out neutral and working his way toward either the side of light or the side of darkness. It just fits with the theme of the package.

I don't understand why the tech wings flap anyway...
[/ QUOTE ]
They flap quite simply because Jay misunderstood what we meant when we said we wanted Tech Wings. He was obviously thinking of some kind of bird that might have (but didn't) existed in Tron while we were thinking Buzz Lightyear.
We obviously weren't specific enough at the time.
Edit: I'm thinking we may get something like this in the form of Jet Packs when they finally master that back anchor point problem.

Hello and welcome to the game!
As others have said repeatedly, feel free to ask any question.
Don't be afraid to use the Search feature though, as many questions you have may have already been asked and answered and you could find your answer by reading those threads.
Try to hold off on your Suggestions for improving the game until you really get a feel for it too. There's nothing many of us hate more than a player who comes from another MMO, plays to level 5 and then makes a bunch of suggestions (usually suggested before) on how to make the game more like their old MMO, which of course to them means better.
This is not meant to offend but rather to inform.
Welcome and good luck!

If you adjust the window scales on a whole using Menu > Options > Graphics and Audio it should scale the same as all of the other trays. You can then reset the scaling for your other windows via /commands from there.
