  1. I'm very pleased the additional weapon pack if free. nice one, devs
  2. isn't the Battalion that's coming up as the 'Coming Storm' alien? That's what I'm assuming, anyway.
  3. To my knowledge, though someone may need to correct me on this, character names get 'released' if the character is inactive for long enough (year or so, I think) so someone else can use the name. I'm curious about chat handles, though, as I lost my handle when the server lists were merged and, so far as I can tell, I lost it to an inactive account. I've tried contacting whoever currently is '@BW' a couple times without ever getting a response, whichi s why I'm assuming the account in inactive.
  4. I still love Fire Blast/Energy Manipulation for Blasters. So insanely destructive
  5. I don't think they need to do maintenance to add stuff to the store. I think the CoT costume set was avalible before the maintenance we had last week.
  6. I have a couple kin characters, both with different ways of utilising their powers:

    Gamma Cell (KM/WP technology Brute)
Formerly an Investigator in the Praetorian Police Department, thought by many to be the next James Noble, she was gunned down by the Resistance when her Kinetic Armour failed. Neuron took the oppotunity to try a new technique to download her mind and memories into an experimental Clockwork, equiped with Kinetic Accelerators, which turn motion into powerful kinetic blasts for offensive and maneuvering purposes. Dispite serving her Emperor to bring down the Syndicate, when she learnt of his plans to eradicate Primal Earth, Gamma travelled to Paragon City to protect the people there, as well as hopefully remind Cole why a young Alison Murray joined the PPD.

    Nite Fury (KM/Nin natural Stalker)
The alien race known as the Furmin have a number of powerful martial arts that utilise the spirit and pure will. The best known on Earth is the style employed by Kung Fu Cat, Lightning Panther, but on her homeworld of Pitot, the style of Spirit Swipe is just as well known and just as difficult to master. Nite Fury utilises this style to amplify her own strength (though some Furmin Mutants with extreme strength use it to keep that strength in check) and has proven herself a powerful nemesis for the great Kung Fu Cat, one whom some Furmin consider the perfect example of Human corruption.

Another suitable example could be a Psychic channeling their powers into their strikes.

I agree with this idea too. As it stands, we have no way of telling who's a free player and who's VIP (that I know of), so adding something in the character info panel would be nice.

As for the spammers, making the game F2P was always going to give the potential for them to get in. Simply put, ignore them or report them, that's all you can really do about spammers, putting in plenty of barriers for all free players isn't going to help.

  10. I don't think the Keyes trial is that bad, though I would like to see the Pulse damage changed, perhaps to a percentage of your current health rather then about half your health per blast. Failing that, make it longer between blasts.

    Servers Down?

I've just been trying to get onto Defiant and it keeps failing. Seems there's something wrong with all 4 European servers as I gave Exhaulted a try and it was fine.

The Hollows. Once a zone that was feared by all aspiring heroes. Now, they can't even remember it's name.

I was going to suggest a sort of secondary origin to be Human, Alien or even from another dimension (would be nice if Praetorians weren't just accepted as any other hero or villian), but dealing with one thing at a time is usually wiser (half my characters are alien as well).

I understand what you're saying Memphis_Bill, but I had it more in mind that you go up against appropriate groups rather then them coming for you for whatever you have.
  14. Have a couple more to add to your project:

    Kung Fu Cat

    Furmirian
  15. Now I've been playing i21 for a while, something has struck me. It's small, but it could have a bit of an impact (apologises if this has already been brought up):

Origin, something you HAVE to choose when creating a character, means nothing.

Ok, maybe not absolutely nothing, it still dictates what enhancements you can buy, but now you have a single contact to start with in Atlas, it pretty much doesn't mean anything. Before i21, your origin dictated your starting contact and while their arcs weren't exactly fantastic it at least meant you didn't have to do the same series of missions every time you started. Villians never had this, true, but at least they had a choice of 2 starting contacts.

So my ultimate suggestion is: add content relevant to your origin.

I'm not saying this should happen now as to add different content for each origin would be a problem as the game is based along a single story thread at the moment, that being the war with Praetoria and the Coming Storm, but in future, when these arcs are all tied up and Galaxy has been rebuilt, there's the chance to allow the player to have a slightly more relevant story arc.

So, from the start (and I appreciate this would be a hell of alot of work), you get an origin opporiate contact who then points you towards other appropriate contacts in what could be an over arching plot (like the Malta Group trying to destroy Mutants), though you can just go your own way and deal with who you want to and other contacts may deal with you differently (say a Luddite contact who'll work with a Natural origin but shun a Technology origin) and alter bits of their text (like say someone impressed a Natural, Technology or Science individual has done so well but isn't impressed by a Magic or Mutant individual)

It's an idea that needs alot more freshing out, but in principle, what do people think of such an idea?
  16. Thumbs up to the latest revamp. Only major critisium I can think of is, at a glance, the Ruin Mage could be confused with the Ice Thorn Caster.
With the exception of the Death and Agony Mages, the bosses all look like the higher level minions with a difference colour pallet when really they should stand apart (they are higher ranks, after all), so possibly give them the same back and leg things the Death and Agony Mage has, possibly culpted slightly differently though I doubt that's likely.

    My first lambda

The Incarnate trials do seem to have gotten laggier recently.
I usually have no real problems with lag, but recently I've found myself having to wait a few moments before powers activate, usually as escapees run past on a B.A.F. trial, though the last trial I did (Keyes Island, which I'm amazed we won) did run reasonably smoothly after I'd dropped the graphics a bit.
I'd give it another shot at some stage, maybe with a reduction in graphics or a router reset before hand
  18. I have a feeling, at it's most basic, the devs wanted to do the merge with as little complex code as possible to minimise potential problems, though it wouldn't have been difficult to code the merge to give preference to someone/thing that had been named as such longest (they may not have stored any data that could be used for such a check, however).
  19. Like everyone here, I am disappointed I lost my chat handle (was @BW, currently @Caterham, a character I only made the other day, for now). An email warning would have been nice, or maybe they should have considered an alternative method of dealing with clashes (like "who ever has had this chat handle the longest gets precedence").
Also, I wonder if it was wise to have a reactivation week at the same time as doing this. Maybe some of the inactive accounts wouldn't have clashed otherwise?

    Top 100 SG/VG

    NOOOOOOO!!! HONOURABLE UNITED!! D:
To be fair, I'm the only one in that SG still playing :P
  21. I agree, excellent work on a smooth launch

    Top 100 SG/VG

I'm surprised Elfling Liberty Force and Honourable United are in the top 100, seeing as both groups have been pretty much dead for a while.
Lets hope they can be resurrected when Going Rogue hits :P

I like this idea. Also, I think we should see some elemental weapons. We have elemental shields, so why not have elemental swords, axes and maces too?
  24. I'm having this problem too
