Croatoa makes me cry in my sleep and when I'm awake.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I like Croatoa.

Boomtown is kind of disappointing, because it has a lot of potential, but doesn't use any of it. I'd like it to be next up for those sporatic hazard-zone revamps the devs have been doing.

I dislike Sharkhead Isle, at least with Masterminds. Freakin' Scrapyarders...
  2. The ability to turn off those blasted missions that introduce you to zone contacts and block you from getting other missions until you finish them. Why yes, I do know about the Hollows. As a matter of fact, I have been to Faultline. Invention tutorial? I already know. Midnight Squad? I'm magic-incompetent, they don't want me.

The ability to make custom Architect critters using the Pulse Rifle without summoning robots. I could go with expanding it to the other Mastermind sets, too.

Better yet: A Pulse Rifle power set. But that's for another thread.

    A facepalm emote.

Elite Bosses scaling to Bosses if you're soloing at the first or second difficulty levels.

Let me try to flip this a bit. Rather than asking questions during leveling (which would get annoying), perhaps it would be better to give tips near the end of the tutorial zone. Add one more objective to the final mission of Outbreak and Breakout so that there's a boss fight though the boss Infected Gang Member/Enhanced Prison Guard is somewhat of a pushover. Have Flower Knight/Jenkins give a big tip right before the fight that is based on AT and possibly with an extra bit for specific powersets. Examples for each side:

"Mr Tanker, each time you attack you'll draw enemy attention to you. This is called aggro. By keeping the enemy's attention you can help protect your teammates since you have such high defenses. When possible, try to keep your toggles like [ toggle name here ] active so you survive longer."

"We got only one chance to get past this last guard so listen up you Dominator. Under your HP and Endurance bars is a Domination bar. Each time you attack, it slowly fills. When full, you will be able to use that Domination button in your tray. When you activate it, you'll refill your Endurance and temporarily enter this special mode with several benefits like holds that last longer and protection from being held."

Might require particular rewording per AT, forced heals, and possibly maxing out Domination/Fury bars. Also, perhaps if your original quiz-when-leveling was an option that could be turned on and off, it could be a good way (pending on question selection) to educate some players without being a hinderance for others.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like this one! It helps new players out, and doesn't make veterans like me take competence tests. Although the idea of Catwhoorg making a new character and having Back Alley Brawler ask him if Task Forces can be run solo kind of amuses me.

You know, complainers like you that find fault with everything are why there's so much doom and gloom on the forums!

    Are you being serious?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really don't think so. Maybe?

Also, the devs should put an Atlas Statue in Praetoria's version of Atlas Park that does, in fact, become animate and throw the Earth at people. Because it'd be awesome, that's why.

I wanna see this used in an MA mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I may be able to arrange that...

As for the RiktiRoll, I got about halfway through it before I realized what it was. Then I laughed myself stupid. Hilarious.

    Her powersets: Demon Summoning/Darkness

Not Dark Miasma. I'm thinking Darkness Assault, as in Pistols/Energy hinted towards Energy Assault, or whatever blasters had.

    New Domness, not MMness.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It lists "Mastermind" as her Archetype right on her page.

Edit: Dang, freakin' two people beat me to it!

I gotta say, Maelstrom's background seems kind of generic. Gee, an ultra-secret government agent who got cheesed because the feds disavowed him in order to keep their secrets from being revealed? C'mon NC, federal disposession is on its way to being the villain version of dead parents for motivation. I'm sorry, but meh.

Oh well, I guess they can't all be winners.
  7. Right class, I have to be at undisclosable locations for a few days, so you'll have a substitute. Now, I know we all love to give subs a hard time, but you'll have trouble hassling this one. You see, for the next few days, the Ninja of Love and Justice, BANG SHISHIGAMI! will be your opponent. I mean, teacher.

I was thinking about this last night and it seems that Electric powers especially Blasts are underpowered and perform behind other sets.

The issue is that electrical powers secondary effect of end drain is an all or nothing type of affair and if you slot for end drain, then you give up damage..

So my solution... End/Mod Damage based IO sets.. We got knockback damage based IO sets ( and I dont know who really asked for MORE knockback )

If there were End/Mod Damage sets with some Acc and Recharge this woukod allow you to slot for BOTH damage and end drain making the set more flexible....

    Just my thought...

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem with this is that it relies on IOs to fix an underperforming set, so players who don't want to use IOs still have a set that's pretty weak without Electricity Manipulation. New IO Sets are always nice and all, but it's not a complete solution.

Castle could just crank up the Endurance drain.
  9. The I16 info? It bit my sister, so I made an example of it.

Did you know that information has kneecaps? They're hard to hit with a shotgun, but they're there.
  10. That Westin Phipps seems like a nice guy.
  11. Quick Reply:

Right, well, the first problem here is, guess what? This is not Ryzom! Holy crap! Can you believe it?

What that means is that we can't go ahead and assume that doing things Ryzom's way will work here.

I'd like to see some hard data on the claim that 90% of AE is farming. I'm in the Architect pretty much every day, and I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a farm mission in the list. I've seen some badly-written missions, but no farms. The claim that we can't "craft a unique experience" is false. The Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame arcs all seem to be unique. No one's even going to look at the farm missions I never seem to run into unless they're farmers, and farmers don't give a care about storylines, so a mission with an actual script doesn't have to compete for players against farm runs. Different target audiences, you see?

Lastly, no one has to use IOs. No, no you don't. If you want them, plan ahead. That's what I do. My Brute has almost all the IOs she'll need at 50 stashed in a storage bin in my SG base, and she's not even high enough in level to slot them yet. Most of the Infamy that funded them came from normal game-play, the rest from selling rare drops on the Black Market. Not a single Infamy, XP Point, or drop farmed.

    Capes

    [ QUOTE ]
That's a fairly good idea. I'd suggest moving it to Jay's Costume Request thread up at the top.

    Nicely done, Artic!

    -Rachel-

    [/ QUOTE ]

Rain-On-Your-Parade Technicality Note: Jay just makes the costumes, he doesn't decide how we get them or where in the menus they're found. Because of that, this is a job for someone on the coding team, since they're the ones who create the menu layouts.

Other than that, the differently-shaped cape patterns are actually patterns, they just adjust the alpha channel of sections of the cape. So a Dagger or Fortune cape is the same two-dimensional, physics-controlled rectangle, you just don't see part of it.

So what we really need is the ability to apply more than one pattern to a costume part, and while that would be cool, I don't even know where to begin considering how feasible it'd be. Then again, just a few months ago, I was saying similar things about Power Customization...

  14. [ QUOTE ]
alright i gotcha, problem is that the magic store enhancments are only lvl 20s, how can i get lvl 50 enhancements? ima t the westwroth buying place but cant figure out how to buy the enhancements

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't go to Wentworth's for Enhancements. If you spent all you time in Architect, you should have plenty of Tickets that you can trade at the Ticket Vendor for Single-Origin Enhancements. Otherwise, make for the Rikti War Zone and find the Vanguard Quartermaster, who'll sell Level 50 Enhancements.

As for specific Enhancement advice, I say, respec out of Stamina. You don't need it, and you don't need to listen to the squeaky-voiced whiners who insist that it's "required". Also, drop either Super Speed or Fly, whichever you like less. One travel power is fine. Now, all of your attack powers should have five or six slots in them. Put two Insight of Grey in each attack, they'll pump up your attack accuracy so that you'll almost always be at a 95% chance to hit, which is the game's maximum. Give each attack at least one Power of Grey, two for the heavier ones, those will reduce your Endurance consumption. You may also want to give your high-power attacks a Renewing of Hermes to make them recharge faster. Build up should have three Renewing of Hermes in it.

Once you've got the Insights and Powers of Grey in place, run some missions to experiment, and fill the remaining slots with what you think your powers need. Everyone has different play styles.

Beyond that, I'm going to echo the call of "do the tutorial". Tutorials don't exist to be skipped over, you know.
  15. NewAgeKnight, what's this about Pope production in here? The Pope has nothing to do with morningstars! Unless he goes around bashing heathens with them. That'd be pretty cool, actually. See the Pope whacking people with a morningstar.

Anyway! Time for lunch! Today's lunch is Outdated Spam Jokes. They taste like metaphysical concepts.

This month we're going to get more information. "When" this month hasn't been specified.

Nor did they supply a picture so we could see which month the dev was pointing to on the calendar when he said that....

Actually, the picture is not right here.

That was hideous! Worse than a Rickroll. I'm not going to follow your links ever again.

Okay, whacking Emmi with a burning morningstar is close enough to actually setting her on fire to still get you in trouble. We obey the spirit of the law in this classroom! Right then... Wait, where's Badstorm? I can't send people to detention with Badstorm if Badstorm's not here!

See, this is the problem with schools today. Violence. Usually it's the teachers who turn a blind eye to it, but you're actually instigating it. Shame on you, teach.

I believe in practical education. Let's face it, most students are never gonna use friggin' calculus, but you never know when you need to pull off some blunt-force trauma. For self-defense, of course.

    [ QUOTE ]

Oh, and uh, don't even think about failing me. I did pass this course at my old school. I'll learn you how to use a morningstar alright.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? Let's see what you can do, then.

    *Is mysteriously curious*
  24. Right then! Let's all welcome Emmi_Blaze, and no setting fire to her! Or her belongings! I'm looking at you, Kheldarn!

Okay, that said, it's time for Social Sciences. Today's lesson: Creative Use of the Common Morningstar. You all have morningstars on your desks, get creative with 'em! The best way to learn is experience!
