  1. It's in the spreadsheet in the scrapper forum.

ET, Gloom, BS, TF, repeat. Needs 237% recharge in TF.

DPA including Arcanatime put TF behind ET and before BS for the top 3.

Tears taste good. Especially when mixed in with some blood.

You are very, very good at this game. So much so that you do not deal with the same concerns that other people deal with. High-end performance tinkerers complaining about sets performances rarely produces compelling evidence to me that there's a problem - after all, this same thread features people saying that EM has no mitigation.
What I do with the ONE character I have that's fully purpled out and has been sitting at 50 for years has absolutely NOTHING to do with what I do with every other character I build and run to 20 or 30 or 40 or 50.

My "skill" at pressing buttons means absolutely nothing when I'm using TOs until 12, DOs until 22 and SOs with a mix of basic IOs until 50.

You make it sound like I'm twinking every character with SetIOs from level 10 on.

I even slot every character the same. Attacks get 1acc/1end-red/1rec-red before adding anything else. Scrappers get damage after that, brutes get more end-red and rec-red.

The point of all this? Your statement is bunk and meaningless.

EM's mitigation is there and it sucks. You can keep a boss disoriented if you work at it. Whoopty freaking do. Two bosses if you take stun. Oh grand, now your damage output just tanked. Wheeeeeee.

With shockwave I can keep entire spawns bouncing around a battlefield. With foot stomp I can do the same without even knocking them back. With both I'm dishing out massive aoe damage. Stone melee? AoE mitigation and damage with tremor. Hell, even MACE has more AoE damage and mitigation than EM.

What's EM got? Whirling hands. Crap damage, crap mitigation, crap radius.

And statements like that is why you have negative rep. As with everything else in this game, teaming isn't rocket surgery.

A set with its two biggest hitters taking nearly 6 seconds to use both sucks on a team due to the fact that you are constantly wasting them.

    You have three choices:
1: Use them normally and watch as the enemy is killed before the animation finishes
2: Only use them on bosses thus wasting your damage potential
3: Tell your team to lay off your targets (which no one in their right mind would bother doing. I sure as hell would never ask a team to do it.)

Stating that EM is "great" for soloists is also stupid. It's good for hard targets and good for soloists that aren't bumping their difficulty up above "boring."

AoE is still king when running at x8 and it always will be.

EM is a ponderously slow, mediocre set with good single target damage, crap aoe and crap mitigation. It's still good for PvP and AV/Heroes. It sucks on teams and probably always will.

Dark Melee also has a lot of tricks, and so would be higher on the "useful" sets list than something like Fire Melee, even though Fire Melee is higher than it.

The chart does a great job at showing the ST damage of the various sets, but a lot more needs to be looked at than it for determining what needs buffed and what doesn't.
Agreed. And as expected, the question then falls back to: Is EM's AoE damage output and overall mitigation high *enough* as is to be considered balanced against its current position in ST damage output?

I have to go with: Hell no.

Negative. RttC gets shut off because it has a tohit debuff attached to it. (Mind you, I consider that design decision to be total BS.) Evasion only taunts but otherwise does not affect enemies and thus stays on.

  11. Interesting. All I did to OC mine was bump the BCLK from 133 to 160. I left everything else alone.

This change took my 2.66 proc to 3.2 and bumped my RAM up to the speed I purchased it at : DDR3 1600

After reading that thread I'm now wondering if I should back down the multiplier on QPI but why should the QPI stay around 2400MHz?
  12. I like that line of thought, Soulwind.
  13. Temps aren't great but it depends on how hot my computer room gets. The other night while playing CHV I saw a spike on one of the 4 cores of 71c. From what I've been reading, at 75c things have gone bad with the I7.

However, during the bench run I never saw the temps go above around 58c.

Its not as if this is a game where split second reactions make all that much difference in normal pvm gameplay.
The difference between 20 and 30 fps whilst noticible is not sufficiently so for me to justify the extra cash needed to obtain it whilst maintaining other settings others will have different opinions on this as what is acceptable is a subjective decision. I certainly have better places to spend £500 than on a top end graphics card others have different priorities.

Its more those that think they can see the difference between 70 and 90 fps that I don't understand.
Compromise sucks. I can only see the difference between 45 and 60 FPS. Higher than that I can't pick up.

I spent $1200 on new innards for CHV Ultra Mode and the seemingly vaporware Mechwarrior reboot.

My wife and I just spent $4000 on getting our house ready to sell. We're about to drop $1800 over the summer months for day care and $200000 on a new home once ours sells.

In the grand scheme of things, $1200 every two years for new hardware to stay near the tech edge is a bargain. As you said, priorities are different for everyone.
  15. Someone in game mentioned that perhaps I need to bump the voltage a bit to compensate for the OC?

The RAM should be good. I specifically bought higher clock rated RAM that I needed so at 3.2GHz on the proc, the RAM is now running at its proper rated speed.

I'll check out Heaven, FX, and yes on the 5870.
  16. Brute: Higher base HP means you get more out of Dull Pain.
Scrapper: No need to chase fury.
Brute: DoT on Fiery Melee attacks Are affected by fury's damage buff but are Not affected by crits.

    Brute wins.
  17. Going below 30FPS makes me twitch. But I've read plenty of people post that they find the game fine at 20FPS. I will never understand such statements, but there it is.
  18. At the request of my brother I downloaded and ran a synthetic benchmark called Sanctuary 2.2.

I'm trying to figure out why my score would go UP a bit by setting my OCed I7-920 back to the stock 2.66GHz from the 3.2GHz I have it OCed up to.

    The scores were:
    3.2: 11174
    2.66: 11215
    3.2: 11201

Thoughts? Speculation? Idle threats? Pics of hot overclocked ladies?

I think you said you mostly solo why yes you did "Was it a huge bucket of fun? (EDIT: And I solo 95% of the time.)". So I would guess there is some other than being globally disliked that you don't team more ? Schedule, preference, other. Just goes back to the observation that SUPER teams of tight design haven't been doing very well lately. if you go through the boards their lots of examples of them starting and just kind of petering out.
They peter out due to most people having the patience of a 2 year old. I'm one of those. As LuxunS just stated, smalelr numbers of VEATs can buff a team wildly. The over the top defense granted is perfect for covering the VEATs lack of DDR.

As for why I solo 95% of the time? I don't need teams for how I play. When I do choose to get a team, I go run team content. Like the ITF. Where I often see multiple VEATs.

Seeing my already softcapped defense bounced up to 60-70% to all is funny to me. Does my main need those buffs? Not in the least. But what about my DM/WP brute? He loves all that extra defense.

As for the search window, I don't ever use it anymore. I'm hidden from searches all the time on every character. If I do it, it's safe to assume others are as well. I *only* use my server's badge channel for my teaming needs. Maybe that's why I never have issues finding a team on the rare occasion I choose to do so.

Are VEATs gimmicky? Yes. Do they lock you into a RP hole? Yes. Are they in any way substandard ATs after level 24? Not even a little bit. They don't need any more DDR than they already get.

Oh well I suppose they appeal to multibox crowd.
Or they have in game friends. I realize that some people are globally disliked and don't benefit from such things, but many do.

That's not the only difference. Another difference is that some opinions are based on an understanding of how this game is now balanced and will continue to be balanced while other opinions are based on not caring about balance and the reasons for it.

One of these will be ignored by the developers. I don't care whether you adopt my opinion. I'm only attempting to show you why the opinion to leave a broken power broken will forever be ignored.
