  1. Here's the question:

Have you actually noticed the difference?

Thanks for listening. The tail looks good and my Claws/WP brute named Chaoswolf thanks you for it.
  3. On the topic of the RNG deciding that it's had enough of you, it happens to me fairly often when running at +4. And that's with tough stacking on the passive scaling dam-res.

That resistance just gets leapfrogged. If I'm being slashed at by 3 +4 rikti chief soldiers, it's not at all unlikely that a drone will get a hit in right before 2 of the 3 bosses also get lucky.

And then it's time for a hospital trip.

SR excels at dealing with massive amounts of incoming attacks that don't deal massive damage in a single hit. That's when you can leverage the PSDR.

While I have defeated many an AV without aid self, if your plan is to often find yourself up against them, it may be a good idea to take it. I never will but that's only because I hate all its downsides.
  4. Happy birthday, man. Hope you're doing something fun.
  5. IOs changed everything. Inv is in a happy place due to having it's mitigation all over the place versus something like SR being a one trick pony.

Add recharge to get perma-dull pain. More dam-res to get close to the cap on S/L. More defense to add on to invincibility.

Put all those layers together and you end up with something damn tough.

And I say this while having only one /inv and she doesn't even have IOs yet. Regardless, I see the math and I've see well put together Invuls pull off some grand stuff.
  6. As Werner states, cascading defense failures are not a problem for SR anymore. Once upon a time, SR's DDR wasn't enhanced by the defense buffs slotted. This is no longer the case. 95% capped DDR laughs at defense debuffs.
  7. I keep wanting to remove the chances for buildup I have in my main's build, but every time I check it there's a net loss in DPS without them.
  8. Kain, there's no way that's correct.

In Mids, go to Options, Configuration, the Effects and Math tab, and set Damage to be "ignore extra damage." If you leave it on Show Average it takes crits into account.

To address your original question, I believe a scrapper can be built to solo the TF Commander Task Forces. But I've never heard of anyone doing it.
    /raises hand

And I did it in a day.

    Claws/SR for the win, baby.

EDIT: The only AV that really had me doubting I'd succeed was ... ahh hell, what's his name... big Devouring Earth dude with the car on a stick.

Edit2: And Catwhoorg soloed them long before I ever did.

Edit3: And remember that you will still need to get pads to start them and have 1 of those pads remain in the TF but logged off. If that last pad quits, you're booted from the TF.

Yup, That was the devs initial design plan. But as with most plans, it fell completely apart as soon as the players got hold of it.

(+4/x8 is NOT sane, for any character)
    Sanity is SOOOO overrated.
  12. Smite has much better DPA than Shadow Punch.

On my DM/WP brute, I'm closing in on the recharge necessary for MG, Smite, Gloom, SL, repeat. But if you want to keep SP, you could add that on to the chain at the end and need less global recharge.

My biggest gripe about the first chain? It's left hand, alternates, left hand, left hand.

    Gets really monotonous.

EDIT: Same problem I have with the broadsword, axe and mace. Can't stand the sets that just use one arm for everything.

    Recording CHV?

Soooo nothing's change. Wegame and fraps. Ok, cool, thanks yall.

    Recording CHV?

    Question:

What's the best FREE program for recording gameplay?

Image quality is important. Performance drag not so much so since I'm on a solid rig.

I'd like to be able to upload the vids directly to youtube, but if you can only upload to a specific site (again for free) that'll work as well.

I remember using fraps, but never bought the full version. And wegame I used a time or two.

    Thanks for your info.
  15. This is true.... well... I certainly haven't seen it done.

  17. Talk about an unfair comparison.

Let's take the most mitigating combo and compare it to the least mitigating combo. Ouch.

Have I mentioned lately how bad FA really is? If you want to give up that much mitigation for some extra damage, just crank up a blaster. You'll manage about the same amount of aggro before you faceplant.
  18. I have yet to see any math showing PP, even fully slotted with IOs, to be more of a benefit to one's mitigation than DN. Doesn't mean that the math isn't out there, but I have yet to see it.

Tack on that gloom is almost brokenly good, from a min-max standpoint, choosing any PP other than SoulMastery appears to be a bad move.

Two power picks... better ST DPS and 21% damage debuff to foes? Yea... nice.
  19. There was another thread just recently here in the scrapper forum with some discussions about MA/FA.

I hear ya on Regen. The set is just too damn clicky for me, and with it causing redraw on claws, I've never understood how anyone can tolerate it.

See, Bill, this is what I mean - someone makes a big stink out of something, then I end up taking heat for it just because I happen to share a stance. Yeah, that's one thing I can do without.
If ya can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen?

I knew fully well that Slashman, or if not him someone else, would come along and post exactly what he posted in response to my post. These forums work like clockwork. You know this. You also know the futility in getting people to change their behaviors. Hell, the only reason I'm as nasty as I am so often is because I didn't accept that simple truth sooner.

So if you wish to turn out reactionary and bitter, keep tilting at that windmill.

You could have just started with this and be done with it.
I could have, but then you wouldn't have had a reason to dump all the holier-than-thou spew you just shared with us.

I never cared why the prompt was removed. I was simply happy it was gone.
  22. To play Sam's advocate for the moment, it would have mattered. Someone on the dev team said, "We're sick of the complaints, turn the popup back on." I'm betting Castle started to say something intelligent, but the one barking orders had moved on. So he shrugged and turned it back on fully expecting backlash for it.

Apparently getting options added to the UI is akin to pulling the teeth from the cats you just herded.

Whatever. One more reason not to team isn't going to make me cry in my soup tonight.
  23. Sam, killing murderers stops them from committing more murders.

On topic, it sounds more like "yea, I was one of the people requesting the popup be put back in and I don't think I deserve folks being mad at me for it."

Maybe. Maybe not. Perhaps our ire should only be directed at the individual who forced Castle to add it back in. Perhaps we should throw our hands up in the air, give up, and walk off into the sunset holding hands and ignoring annoying popups.

I hate popups, Sam. I use popup blockers to stop them while browsing. I don't want to see them in game. Especially during combat.
  24. wait... what? You want ME to take the high road on something? No, Sam, I may work that way with my wife and son, and my dogs... sometimes my cat, but regular folk? Oh hell, no. I'll treat them AS they treat others.

Those that got the popup put back in requested it without even bothering to consider how it would affect other people. I see no reason to be considerate to self-centered farks like that. EDIT: Having no popup meant the buff was like every other buff in the game. You got it, you lived it with, life went on. Having the popup means this thing gets plopped up front and center on my screen in the middle of combat stopping me from being able to target enemies efficiently.

Yes, it's one nuisance over another. Yes, it's selfish of me to not care about the people that want to avoid the buff. This is why the devs need to put the option in for us to always accept or deny. While they're at it, the should probably throw in the "Disable non-teammate buffs" option as well so that the folks will have even less to ***** about.
