Spiritchaser, I did have that gorram PvP flag on. The numbers I posted earlier are all frelled up on the first build.

Base level shields, SR, Elec, stone and even FA, you mean.
I've played them all. Stone's a little better thanks to rooted's regen, but the speed debuff kills it for me, as mentioned earlier.
In the end, I'm not seeing a case made here that warrants a further buff to EA.
You had ET and TF, you say? Hmmm, yet another case of EM making someone hate the secondary they paired it with. Just like me and FA. Interesting. -

And, of course, the defense buff on top of that. -

Anyone stating EA is hurting these days is nothing short of delusional.

Quick question there:
You mentioned that I was over the cap on HP. I know that originally we all thought that you couldn't have more than 5 of a specific value buff, but I could have sworn one of the devs came in and corrected us stating that it was no more than 5 "named" buffs.
But that's where my understanding ends.
I see what you mean on the build I posted.
I have 6 Sets granting +16.9 HP but they come from 3 different kinds of Sets.
I had thought by "named" the dev was actually talking about the descriptions we see in the combat monitor as per small buff, large buff, etc... but how do we tell that from Mids? Is there ever a case where an identical value has a different "name?"
My concern on this comes from the loss of enhancement values on Gloom.
Your slotting gives 57/81/39/39 where mine gives 63/89/43/64 and that extra recharge may be necessary.
I do like the extra damage there, though. -

Quite frankly, if you can get through the whole thing without dying, I'm gonna call it a massive success. I don't care if you use temps, insps, shivans, warburg bombs and smash those pain users upside the head with a kitchen sink.

Agreed. But some of the posters here need to remember this little tidbit:
EA will have equivalent mitigation to a post-granite stoner when /stone gets a pbaoe end drain with a minor heal and conserve power in the set.
There is a huge difference between asking for more out of a logical need and asking for more out of greed.
Too many in this thread are doing the latter. -

I'm not sure what you mean about devs and arguments. As far as I know, the devs datamine for performance.
The set has already been buffed. It was buffed due to calls from players and based on datamining.
What makes anyone think further datamining is going to cause Castle to buff the set further when the datamining has already been done? -

There are team expectations of a Brute. If other ATs can bring the SMASH and survive better than the non-ezmode sets, what's the point in having the hardmode sets? The only use I see for them are aesthetics and e-peen brags. If that's the case, we need a new AT for them so we can avoid them.
Even after 38, it's locked into teleport or it gets destroyed by curbs.
I had a much harsher reply to your post than this, but I find that it's not worth it to me anymore.

Male player. My melee characters are predominantly male. The one exception off the top of my head is the very tall female shield/dark tank. All others are predominantly female. Looking at around a 70/30 or 65/35 split.
Apparently I have it stuck in my head that men should get more blood on their hands. -
Had a new player hit me up with new player questions not too long ago. They were polite, inquisitive and thankful.
Then the person asked about wings and how much they wish they could have had them at character creation.
I took that as an opportunity to teach a little something about the market and crafting. Bought the player their wings of choice, bought the salvage, explained how to use a crafting table and the tailor once done and sent them on their way to wherever they ended up going to find a crafting table. They were in their teens on lvl and still hanging around Atlas, so I'm pretty sure I sent them to Steel Canyon.
About 30 minutes later, I received a very happy thank you.
Why do I share this story in relation to the OP?

I could drop kick and tough for assault and tactics. I've certainly got the end to spare and the tohit buffs from tactics would be welcome with dark melee for when soul drain is down.
This character is only 41 now so I'll see how his survivability is with darkest night and without tough running rather than DN+Tough+everything else. -
Hey all,
This is the rework on my main villain. He used to be an EM/FA brute, but I go so fed up with that combo, I nuked him even though he'd been 50 since shortly after the level cap was raised on the villain side, he had all the power buff accolades, and he was pretty well IOed up.
Now he's a DM/WP and already superior in ST damage output and survivability.
Below is the data chunk for his no purple set build. It's 9 seconds short of perma-soul drain and uses MG, Smite, SL, Gloom, Smite as the attack chain which deals out a respectable 223 DPS while under Soul Drain and at 90% fury.
He's got 2529 hitpoints and with 1 in RttC regens at 74.5hp/sec.
Can anyone see any tweaks to increase damage and/or hitpoints without the use of purple sets?
