EDITED: He already answered it.
And on this Sunday at 11:41 CST, there are 168 heroes found in search and 95 on villains. -
Quote:I've been watching numbers all weekend. Once upon a time it was common for me to see 400-500 villains logged in on a Friday night. This meant that therre were 800-1000 heroes logged in for a total Pinnacle login of 1200-1500.QFT.
And in that case, "Boo" from someone who spends most of their time on Pinnacle and Victory with apparently a lot of other ghosts.
Last night I saw the total was under 300.
All servers green.
Is this proof that nerfs drew people away?
Of course not. I-16 is on test. Lots of people ARE checking out CO. Satan knows that when Mechwarrior goes live I'll be disappearing again.
Are the servers ghost towns right now? Comparatively, yes. Is now a stupid time to be checking population levels? Of course it is. Let's check again two weeks after I-16's go live. -

and I found that the attack chain I want to use (Swipe,FU, Slash, Focus) uses almost exactlythe same amount of endurance per second as a stone melee buzz saw chain. (Stone fists, stone mallet, stone fists, Heavy Mallet) but the stone melee chain does alot more damage than the claws cahin ( 208.12 vs. 246.9)
If this is true, then Castle's claws equation is broken. Are you including buildup in that SM chain? Did you average down BU's downtime vs FU's doublestack? -
This thread keeps getting stupider every time I read it.
Don't like the change? Avoid freakshow. I'm still gonna be plowing through them and getting X amount of XP while I do so.
This change is FAR TOO FARKING SMALL for it to be raising this kind of a stink.
Want to talk about REAL risk/time vs reward problems in the game? Go run a Hamidon raid and get back to me.
Can not believe people are bent out of shape about this. Farking pathetic. -
I'm guessing it's an AT mode thing. It does mean that when fighting 54s, it'll still be kBack.

I find it amusing that no one has mentioned how different rigs handle the lag differently.
I've been on ITFs where while one person is complaining of a true slideshow of lag, I'm experiencing barely any at all.
How do we explain that?
Different geographic locations causing differing levels of network traffic issues over different backbones?
Lower end CPUs having more trouble handling said network traffic?
Lower end graphic cards choking trying to render spawns that are hidden and shouldn't be rendered anyway?
We know part of the problem is server side, and while I have run into lag every time I've run that third mission (except for that time I soloed it,) it's almost never as bad as my teammates get.
I don't have the answers for this. But it does tell me that the causes are deeper than just "the mission is badly coded and needs to be fixed." -
Tonality, please remember that I've got a pretty dang narrow mindset when it comes to mitigation sets.
I was finding it squishie at level 50 with basic IOs fighting spawns at +0/x8. It was manageable. If that's good enough, or if you choose a primary that offers solid mitigation like dark melee, it's going to be a different ride.
I once had an sm/elec brute that might not have been deleted with the new energize. -
That's gonna be the difference right there. With DOs, I'll slot 2acc/2end/2red. That's if they're 6 slotted. Followup would be the only one I'd slot with 3 recreds.
So it makes sense. You're cranking the recharge up which will push your damage up which would make you burn through end faster than me. -
hey... everyone in here dumping on Xyzyx for his statement...
Please carry on.
As to the change in XP, it's been a long time coming. No surprise there. -
I found that it wasn't enough to fix the overall squishiness of the set. Recharge is just too long.
Now... on a scrapper with tough/weave/cj/steadfast/physical perfection/all the heal uniques... it'd probably work. -
I did notice an uptick in end use when I got focus, but it never seemed to be a problem. But with no toggles and an end-red in every attack? Wonder what we're doing differently, because I sure ain't been needin no rest between spawns.

Glad to hear multiple folks are on it.

Supposedly correct. Although I've never had an aggro cap's worth of AV/Hero level baddies attacking me at once while I was ripping them to shreds with claws, either.
However, working as intended also means working as intended.
Ultimus knows this, but if he doesn't get in his daily quota of useless threads per day he goes into seizures. -
I've seen the damage cap too many times during an ITF to give a damn.
Brute damage output at 90% fury is on par with scrapper damage at 10% crits so I give even less than a damn.
Brutes have higher base HP than scrappers with tank mitigation and HP caps so my level of give a damn is now capped at around .000000001%. -
Which means either EA will never get ported, or they'll have to change EA CP as well.
-
Quote:Brute version of my claws attack chain using identical slotting does about 8.5% more DPS than its scrapper cousin.
Yes, I know Brute's Claw is currently modified but I won't call it a buff because higher base damage = higher endurance/recharge. It's a "modified" version.
Just FYI. -
Quote:Now just imagine all the time spent back in my tech forum haunting days were I to have charged my regularly hourly rate....Bill, I just had to chime in here and say that I notice you have been on the forums since Feb of '05. If we assume that means Feb 1 of '05 and we count through all of today, that means you've been able to post for 1668 days. You have 26,442 posts. If we assume you've posted every single day since you registered with the forum (which I highly doubt), that means you've averaged 15.85 posts per day. Even if we assume an average post is 20 words (which is pretty small but smooths things out for posts like "/signed" and such) and an average word is 5 characters (which is the standard for typing tests) that's 1585 words per day. According to a question asked in the New York Times, the average newspaper article length, at least for that institution, is 1200 words.
I'm going to hazard a guess and say that a regular, amateur columnist would earn an average fee for each article of about $10 (much more for a few, much less or nothing for most). That means you've written almost 530,000 words and done over $16,680 worth of work for the city of heroes forums over the last 4 years or so. And you likely haven't been paid or even offered a dime.
I think too much.

Dark Melee turned red. Looks like blood magic.
Yes, /elec's conserve power was turned into energize. I don't find that it helps the set enough. -
On a brute? All of them. Seriously. But for farming late game? FireMelee/Shield Defense. Many also say SS/Shield, but I hate the crash from rage.
Sell everything you get on the market when it comes to salvage and recipes. You'll quickly figure out which recipes are considered trash and those you can sell at any store.
Doing this you'll have enough inf at level 12 and 17 for DOs and enough for SOs at 22 and 27.
At 27, start crafting basic level 30 IOs. They provide about the same benefit as a SO, but you never have to replace them like you do SOs. (Exceptions, try to get a Steadfast +Defense Unique as soon as you can. Same goes for a Performance Shifter Chance for +End to throw into Stamina.)
By the time you hit 50, you should be considerably well off financially and can then outfit your brute for heavy duty farming. -
Quote:IMO, it would be a very bad decision to have you lose all your inf in order to cross over.We don't really know if you can bring your inf with you when you cross over, do we? Has any dev confirmed that? If they did, that's as good as admitting the currencies (and markets) will be merged. It makes sense to me, but I could imagine them saying "when you cross over you lose all your inf." Which would royally suck, but I could see it happening.
"Bad" here meaning "sucks for the player."
The original concept of Influence and Infamy has been completely tossed in the trash with the way inf is utilized in the game today.
It's money now. Not influence. As it is money, my character should have a bank to store it. As I can give access to my bank account to anyone I choose, so too should said bank be global for my account.
In said global bank account I should be able to store the following:
Influence/Infamy
Recipes
Enhancements
Inspirations
Merits of any type
The game play reason?
My main "hero" is the younger brother of my main "villain." They share a common goal and work at it from the two different sides. As they share a common goal, they would aid each other as they could financially.
Having a shared bank account would make perfect sense for them.
So. Why can't we send money to ourselves yet? Because the devs haven't added that functionality. Should they? Absolutely. -
Quote:If you crank the recharge into the stratosphere, EM can push out very nice ST damage. But it's not the best. While being not the best at ST damage, it has crap AoE damage output and crap mitigation.I don't get that. ET is still incredibly good DPS. Barrage is now good enough to replace brawl as your filler. I really don't see why people hate the set so much, unless they just can't let go of where it used to be.
On top of that, it has 3 animations with >2.5sec animations.
I don't miss the overpoweredness of ET. I don't miss the mag4 on TF. I miss the set being fun. Due to the loss of fun, it should be given SOME kind of bone. Either crank up the size/damage of WH, or do something with the mitigation.
