Quote:7 headshots, from a semi-auto, before they can return fire, and hoping that a death spasm doesn't cause a hostage to be shot anyway, or just shot when a trigger is pulled in shock from the first shot? even with super reflexes and extreme luck, i doubt the RoF would keep up.In a situation like this, is it believable to pull out that loaded piece, blow the seven lunatics to hell and whip out your hero ID, hold it high and shout, "It's alright, don't panic. You're safe now, I'm Johnny "Maverick" Cain and I'm licensed to kill."
This is why they use hostage negotiators, even if not successful, they distract the criminal so they dont shoot people.
Gonna have to add a "no" to killing anything beyond rikti (its war, its different), and non-humans, for heroes.
Shoot to maim. if fire blasters can do it, so can you. -
If there is a furry pack, can the bonus power be a non-combat power that creates short 6fire aura effect on the targeted ally? :P

Another vote for something based on the Kriss Super V, with the stock folded.

and a Luger P08. Classic shape, and perfect for Nazi villains.

Is it the aero interface in 7 that you dont like, or something else?
Because you can switch that off completely if i remember right. Although that does make it look like windows 95. -
Quote:The RP supergroup thread is a leftover from when they merged the EU and US forums, so pretty much all the posts before a certain date will be for the EU.I checked the roleplay supergroup thread and it looks like Roleplaying is mainly done on the EU servers, is anyone able to tell me otherwise?
As has been said, the two main RP servers are Union (eu) and Virtue (us), but theres varying amounts on all servers.
Having played on both US and EU, i can say you'll find a lot more, and varied, RP on Virtue. Possibly due to having a far higher population. -
Quote:What i want to know is this: when a hero becomes a villain fully, and vice versa, does it unlock the flashback missions for their new side? and how will ouroborus work for grey-area chars? It will be possible for a Hero to become a Villain and a Villain to become a Hero. Rogue and Vigilante are the grey areas between those two extremes. They have the flexibility to move between both sides, team up, and play through the content, but can only use the market on their 'side' until they complete the transition.
(although i'm sure even if they cant access hero side Ouro, they can still team for flashbacks if they start from a SG base) -
because we got our ***** handed to us by the Rikti, and only stopped the invasion after Omega team ran their suicide mission to the Rikti dimension.
The Rikti are more advanced, better equiped, have psychic abilities as the norm, and stronger than the non-hero population, and theres a whole planet full of them. -
I use an ATI3650, full settings, and my only problem is with water reflections being reflected on the wrong plane, which i cant even see with FSAA on anyway.

Quote:Ravenswing is right, and i agree. So, if I were you, I'd wake up and realise that sometimes individuals are at fault, and sometimes it's a systemic problem, and what's actually important is that you realise when you, yourself, are at fault and deal with it appropriately.
Blaming society is a poor way out. No matter what social situation you're in, there is always an alternative to doing the wrong thing.
Theft for example is spawned from lazyness. "need" doesn't cut it, as there are better ways to feed yourself with no money.
Another of society's problems, Homelessness, should in theory be already iradicated in the UK, as all you require for being put on a council housing waiting list is a fixed adress to which letters can be sent, which some churches and doss houses will supply (a method off the streets i've seen work twice). But this problem continues because of personal choice not to take the steps to do so. Is society to blame for these people living in this state? because society has provided them with the means to change that.
Everyone's actions are made from a choice on their own part, society doesn't force anyone's hand, else those born into bad parts of society wouldn't be striving to move away from that.
And why should everyone take a share of the blame for one person's mistakes?
What makes it right for Tim to be punished for his brother Johnny's crimes, because they grew up together so must of influenced eachother?
Or further afield, why should anyone take the blame for someone who they have never met nor been in contact with, just because we are all part of the same society? -
Quote:actualy, the story was supposedl lifted from fahrenheit 451It's not a good example of implementation, and if anything, that whole concept was inspired more from 1984
Another good one to add to your "to-read" list. -
Quote:I want to read this x-men/startrek crossover :OWar is a terrible thing.
Charles Xavier himself said there were good aspects too.
"If it wasn't for the second world was and the technological race it caused, mankind would never have developed the warp drive and met the Vulcans, an act that unified mankind and brought peace like no event previously."
It was to a holodeck character from a 1930's time frame though, so he got some odd looks. -
Quote:Please, look up the term "mary sue", it may shed some light on what ravenswing is getting atA terrible character? You're suggesting I'm immature creating a character with an interesting ability and a moral dilemma? Your tone is insulting.
Quote:Also, you're suggesting Xavier should do exactly what Facade is wondering about, playing god with someone's brain. I suspect you've missed the point.
messing with one to save the free will of a lot of others is a small price.
People have to make a choice for themselves, not have it thrust on them.
People have a tendancy to push against things that are put on them too hard, whether they are for their good or not.
Also, there are those who are immune to mind control, and atleast one off the top of my head who wouldn't be happy about the idea of world peace. -
Not played a stone tank for a long time due to their bad case of the uglies (when they where still being called turd-tanks, rather than stoners), but having a change to stop all stone tanks looking identicle will be appreciated even from the perspective of having to look at them rather than play them.
And for those who want the size change that comes with the granite, i point you to the science booster pack... its very nice. -
anyone else see the patch CO put in place to "balance" their classless system at release?
ATs were added to coh to avoid tank-mages, rebalancing all powers on their own to avoid the same means that anyone who isnt one now hits bellow par.
Being able to switch "stone resist 1" with "fire resist 1", or "melee attack claws" with "melee energy attack", and other similar effect powers, for each power in a powerset...that'd be good -
For anyone who hasn't found out yet, Champions online sucks spherical objects, so back be I.
And in an effort to avoid the crap that lead to me leaving in the first place, i reactivated my old US account, rather than my EU one.
LONG LIVE VIRTUE!

Have a rough chart of class overlappingness.
I think most redside classes sort of sit between two blues.

[ QUOTE ]
2. As a Tanker lands more and more blows, he'll start doing more and more damage. The longer the fight, the more powerful the Tanker becomes.

I love you, statesman!
err....in a purely paternal/straight sort of way of course
seriously though, this might help tankers shift towards the "arch-villian killer" role.
long battles like them could see tanker damage go through the roof
