I'm not sure why you're not seeing it on the web page, but they are having an emergency outage. Scheduled to be back in 15 minutes at 6:45pm EDT.
Just checked - Server Status page shows all servers down for me. -
I had something similar yesterday at home (can't recheck now), but it doesn't happen at work. It appeared that a banner (perhaps the Back to Top) was just raised up too high so it was over Pinnacle. Is that what you mean? It does make it seem like the first 2 are split from the rest.
-
Other than "drama" amongst my in-game friends, team, or SG, the only reason I have ever had to take a break was when I lost one of my Iron Eagles. I deleted him and was just bummed out the rest of the night.
-
Are you certain the inf is gone from the sender? I had something similar happen to me. Searched my email: nothing! However, when I logged back in to the original toon, the influence was still there.
I have also had all emails that WERE in my inbox with nice attachments expire too early. Those were recovered by a petition and some auxillary follow up information.
Good luck! -
Quote:This. My first pre-market/recipes/salvage/IOs hero hovered in the 1-2 million mark for most of their career. I was almost always able to upgrade to the latest loot when mine expired. It's just not that expensive and does not require marketeering.Uh...that's more than enough for SOs and generics.
Perhaps I've misunderstood your point.
If I'm reading the wiki correctly, the most expensive level 30 SO is 36,000 (damage and heal). At level 27, you have around 44 slots (13 *1 [even levels] + 14 * 2 [odd] + 3 (inherent)). That's a total of 1,584,000, well within your budget.
Since you probably want to get to playing without being unenhanced, I recommend stopping by your origin specific store in Talos or IP and just buying the SOs. I would also take others' advice here and start getting some experience in the market, even if only to learn how to price the valuable loot that you'll be receiving soon (I put in a good word for you with the RNG). You can then gradually replace these SOs with IOs as you get more experience or just keep replacing with SOs if they start to expire before you have the IOs. As has been previously mentioned, the game is balanced around SOs so you'll be competent with these all the way to 50. -
I've noticed this as well, though I have seen it prior to I-17 when trying to load some of my little-used bases.
In addition, when I go from the first to the second screen, I often get a short buzz sound. It sounds like I'm standing right next to a Peregrine portal for less than a second before stopping, completing the "progress bar", and loading the true sounds around me. Anyone else get the buzz? Could it be related? I only seem to get it with particularly long loads. -
Quote:I probably wasn't clear. I'm NOT referring to stealth/tp or to "Assemble the Team", which sometimes gets confused with TTP. I'm referring to the final power in the TP pool, which teleports every member (including pets) in range to a specific spot (lower range than regular TP).We usually burn everything in our way, never stealthing a mish. Though if we do ITF, which I'm hoping we'll do as soon as some of the lower toons get on up, I don't think we'll burninate the whole map.
Or am I not understanding.
For most teams, it's useless and counter-productive. For a FRad team, it's a beast in later levels. It gets everyone in melee together, and keeps the team tight for Aura, AM, Hot Feet, and Choking Cloud. Nothing is quite as fun as porting the entire group into an unsuspecting mob and telling them "Hello, you're held by 8 Choking Cl-, oops, you're dead."
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSoR7nq6b_g for a video of a group of 7 doing it to absolutely destroy the Final 4 on the STF in less time than most groups can take out one.
I don't know if either of Disko's builds has it currently. One is for normal team play. The other is for all-FRad teams, but it probalby has Group Fly. Another power useless on most teams, but awesome on Frads when combined with TTP.
If there is interest, I can try to respec to TTP. -
Fire/Rads are a blast, and a unique experience to the game. I'm going to dust off my old 50, Disko Inferno, and meet up with you guys tonight.
Do you guys ever use the Team TP strategy on your teams? I was dubious at first, but it is quite efficient, though it can be a little disorienting to the riders. -

I had something similar happen. Several days ago, I had a large number of global emails with attachments with varying expiration dates (none of which have passed), and yesterday they were all gone. Every one of them: not just the attachments, but my email box is now completely empty.
Heat - Did you have to do anything specific other than petition? Any advice on recovering the lost items? -
Quote:Wow, that seems quite high in my experience. I run with a fun group that has done several theme teams in the past year and a half. Our TA/ defender group (Feb-May), /Traps villains(July-Oct), electric toons(Nov-Jan), and Rad heroes (Jan-Apr) all took around 3 months each to get to 50 for the regulars, playing 2 nights/week for 2-3 hours/session. I don't know the hours, but I'd estimate around 50-60. We're definitely casual, but do usually have large teams at increased difficulty, which I think is a big factor.1. If I'm not mistaken my last L50 needed ~400 hours of casual play (no PLing, some TFs, often had "rested xp").
I would think that folks who liked to team could get it done in around 100 hours without a problem, but perhaps my perspective is off.
PS - Shameless plug - We've just started a new group of Bladed Villains. It's not too late to join up for some fun times. -
Quote:This will be an SO build, mostly used at lower levels. It will not have any sets and defense will only be derived from, Invincibility, Combat Jumping, and Tough Hide. I may fit in Maneuvers late.If you're running a mainly SO or common IO build then unquestionably Aid Self is a better choice. If you're working on set bonuses then things can get a bit trickier, say if you need them for mules for example. Overall unless you need the mules I'd say you'll get more mileage out of Aid Self.
Thanks for the responses. I actually decided to use my 2nd build and try one of each option. -
I'm planning a build for my new Spines/Invul Scrapper and am conflicted on whether to take the passives, specifically Resist Elements/Energies (Scraps have to take RPD at level 1). I'm considering swapping them out for Aid Other/Aid Self. Here are my thoughts:
Benefits of Passives:
1. No endurance, no clicking. Provide consistent benefit against those damage types.
2. Require less slots to be effective. (I put 2 Res in passives, Int/2 Heal/End in Medicine.)
3. They fill specific gaps in my protection.
Benefits of Medicine Pool:
1. I can take AS earlier to help in the late teens/early 20s.
2. It is up fairly often and can supplement Dull Pain as a heal.
3. A better "Oh Crap" button for alphas and damage spikes.
Note that I'm open to other power suggestions, but the rest of my build is fine. I want these 2 power selections to focus on survivability.
For those with some Invul experience, what are your thoughts on these options? Specifically, which will increase my survivability more?
Thanks!

Quote:Funny. When I read this, the majority of the picture was below my screen so I only saw the text and the tallest tentacle. While no gender is implied by the name, Lusca is obviously male. Check out this picture:

I was frightened to scroll down!
Fun thread. -
Quote:I agree with Don's sentiment here: Why compare to the original design when we've had the TF live for quite some time? I also agree that requiring 6-8 controllers/doms is a bit much. And the other question to ask: Is it "fun" for 8 people who want to run the TF, seeing none of them are on controllers or dominators, to have to ask each other "OK, who has someone they can switch to? Nobody? OK, someone has to sit out and we need to find one who wants to run the LGTF."
Or more generically, what is the "fun" part of the challenge that says "your ability to continue the TF that you've just spent an hour+ on depends on the ability to generate a sufficient magnitude hold, with no workarounds or alternative strategies possible"
However, just to play devil's advocate on the above statement, hasn't it been this way since inception already?
The first time I ran this with a core group of friends I play with regularly, we did this with one of our typical "all buff" teams. Mostly trollers, defs and corrs allowed as well. This team typically steamrolls content at high difficulty, and we did so on the LGTF until Hami's Yellow friends. We could not put a dent in them with all our ranged attacks. I queried some gfriends that helped me remember that melee damage was needed. A few of us had Sands of Mu and one had taken an APP melee attack, but after taking 1 of them down in 20 mins with multiple wipes, we threw in the towel. However, this happened ONCE. Now, if any of us are forming a LGTF with no melee, someone (preferably 2) has to swap*. I assume the same would happen if all Brutes/Scrappers showed up, but that never happens in the circles I run in.
My longwinded point is that I don't think it's necessarily bad (or at least not unique) to require holds as part of the encounter since melee and ranged damage are already required. Perhaps those are easier to come by on most teams (esp with Vet attacks), but it still already comes into play when forming a team. And a hold is included in nearly all non-Dom/Troller APPs as well. Like I said, 6+ is a bit much, but I don't think requiring 1 or 2 with some minor support from APP powers (or maybe add some Holding Vet or Temp powers) is so bad and is similar to what is already required.
It also seems like the devs' intent in the newer content is to encourage "well balanced" teams, perhaps so that any AT can contribute.
*I will admit that now that we know better, we could likely complete the LGTF with 8 controllers with a little forward planning/alternate builds, but this was our first time and it was getting late.Hopefully, the LGTF will be adapted to similar levels of hold protection as well.

What zone were you in? I think Sharkhead may have crashed. My toons in other zones can log in fine, but not one in Shark.
-
Always a blast with the Horde. Sign me up.
Rick Revenge, Arch/MM Blaster. -
Ugh. Power is out here. Hopefully, it will come back in time for me to catch up with you guys soon.
-
I'd like to join up as well so put me down as an alt or team 2 if it pans out. I was successful on this on a practice run with the Horde led by MB before the badge was released, but have never been able to nab it since.
Cool King: 50 Cold/Arch Def is probably the best choice, but I have a stable of others we can choose from. -
I'll be there 7:00-9:00 Eastern.
-
I have never successfully completed this so would like to give it another go. I'll sign up with Rick Revenge, my Arch/MM blaster, but can swap to a more support oriented toon if needed.
-
It did not happen.
I was unable to garner much interest, but the nice folks on PinnBadges let me know that Sunday early afternoon is not a popular time for "the hungover server".
Thanks for the tell last night, XFunk. Any assistance in getting this on my brute is appreciated. My playtime is somewhat limited in prime time, but late on Friday or Tuesday (~11:00 Eastern?) is usually possible. -
My Brute has tried to obtain the Annihilator badge several times without success. I am going to put together a LRSF Sunday afternoon at 2:00 Eastern US time. Please post here or send a tell to Hard Rock King or @Big King if interested. All builds welcome, but buffers, debuffers, and perma Mind Doms are always nice.
Come out and help me take out States and his friends. -
Quote:I advise to be very careful with this. In your example above, you will certainly sell to the high bidder, but I've seen many instances where the high bidder is well below market value. Every once in a while, you'll see a very high value item sell for 111,111. I bet this is almost always folks thinking simlarly "Last 5 are 50M, there are tons of bidders, so I'm sure the highest is reasonable." You never know when a supply spike hits that just took out the last reasonable bid. Selling a 50M item for 100k stings. I recommend always listing for the absolute minimum you're willing to part with it for, no less. You may get lucky and have a high bidder well over your amount, but don't count on it. Of course, I also have never had a situation where I had a toon that had a high dollar recipe, but neither the funds nor the means to get funds quickly for the listing fee.Yeah. That answers my question. I'm wondering if I find say... a level 50 Luck of the Gambler Defense, and notice that there are zero people selling right now, and about 50 people bidding, and the price has been about 50 million for the last 5 sales, do I need to bother raising 2.5 million inf so I can post the recipe at 50 million, or can I list it at 5 inf, and be pretty sure it sells for at least 20 million?
I was worried that the low bidder would get it. Like maybe there'd be one bidder bidding 30 million, and another bidding 200 thousand, and I'd end up selling to the bidder who was trying to low ball me instead of the high bidder. This puts a lot of my fears to rest. I'm sure it was still wise of me to list at 50 million, in case the high bidder were bidding less than that, but it seems I would still have gotten a good bundle of inf either way.
