Quote:Vice versa applies as well. If you build with SC in mind, specifically slotting IOs for SC, then you will be less effective in RV.well I figured if I made a build set more for lv 50 it would not be as effective in SC. Am I wrong in that thinking?
Regards to the build, I would skip fitness, and replace those with SS (from speed pool) and Phase by 35. As for fighting pool, it's upto you, but once again, I would skip it for leaping pool, CJ and SJ. -
Just to add what Lith stated. Basically you loose targeting on a target for few seconds. In the meantime, you are getting attacked. The proc is supposed to work on a percentage basis, but right now it's at 100%.

Quote:What are the must haves from Elec Armor set? I am assuming you have to take 3 shields, Lightning Reflexes (cheap recharge), and Energize (self heal). Is Power Sink and Power Surge considered a must have? Both.
Elec, when well built is retardedly powerful. it's just an expensive build.
I have an old toon, lvl 38 EM/Elec brute, that I might get upto 50. I would have prefered SS/Elec, but don't want to roll one if I don't have to. -
Quote:There's no Psy/EM power choices for Dominators...that's what buffled me. As stated before, Mind/Fire is probably considered one of the better dom options.I didn't ask about Doms, just because I never see them in PvP. I just asked an off the wall question about Doms. I figured since Psy/EM blaster was Tops for blasters, then a Psy/Dom should be decent, albiet I am very unschooled in PvP, which is why I asked.
One suggestion Ghost Ripper, you might want to start asking one level deeper, for example, why is Psy/EM blaster considered one of the best blaster, actually one of the best pvp toon on hero side...you might learn more that way. -

Ahh, you got a point there...forgot about elec secondary. After the change to elec, I thought about rolling one, but never got around to it. By the way, does that apply to Brutes as well or just for tanks?
-
Doomed for failure from the start...advice falls on deaf ears
-
My perspective is as follows:
Scrapper: Fire, BS
Scrapper Secondary: Regen
Stalker: Elec, Spines, DM/EM
Stalker Secondary: WP, Regen, Nin
Blaster: Psy, Sonic/Fire, Rad
Blaster Secondary: EM, MM
Corr: Sonic, Fire/Rad
Corr Secondary: Therm, Cold
Tanks: SS, EM
Tanks Secondary: Fire, Inv
Brutes: SS, EM
Brutes Secondary: Inv, Fire
That being said, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the above. Although there are few that stands out above others, i.e. Psy blaster -
It's pretty amazing, how varied the slotting is for Impale. Thx for info.

Quote:Your question is very broad, and also you don't provide any specifics. Is it solo or team or both? Is it for zone or arena? What is an effective toon for you? Cold and Therm do different type of debuffs. Which one is better? That really depends on what you are specifically trying to do.I started leveling a Sonic/Cold Corr a long time ago bc I thought it would be fun.
Can this be an effective toon? I dont know how effective the slows and - rech are anymore.
It seems that most Corrs are Therms for debuffs, so how does cold compare to therm?
I have a lvl 50 sonic/cold, and it does fairly well in the zones. Slows are no longer that effective; however, the -rech is quite nice. And sonic hits hard. It's a fun to play from my perspective. -
That's an interesting slotting, max on acc, dmg and range, but no procs...hmm something to think about.

Having originally had fighting pool over phase and respec'd into phase, it definitely is the way to go at least for zones (I haven't tried it out in arena yet). There are quite few benefits, but mainly:
1. gives you a way out of that "oh crap" moment most of time
2. allows you to get kills when opponents phase
With DR the benefit of tough just doesn't match the benefit of phase. -

macskull, your build only has 3 -kb IOs + acro. Do you have an updated build for the Rad/Psy? I am assuming that it needs to have at least 41pts.
-
I have been running Spines/Nin/Mako, but I want to give Shadow Meld a try. I am planning to go the following pools:
- Speed (hasten, SS)
- Leaping (cj, sj, acro)
- Fitness (hurdle, health, stamina)
- Concealment (stealth, invis, phase)
My question is can I forgo Kuji-In Retsu and take Blinding Powder (6 slotted) since I will have Shadow Meld. Or is Kuji-In Retsu valuable enough that I should be taking it, or figure a way to fit both of them in? -
So what's the recommended slotting for Impale on a Spines/Nin stalker?
I'm leaning towards:
1 Nuc, 2 Centi, 1 Acc IO, 2 dmg proc
or would going for straight dmg be better?
3 Nuc, 3 dmg proc
Or any other combinations? -
Both Liberty and Victory seem to have moved their PvP to Freedom as well.

Slight off topic, just need confirmation that with Integration, that there is no need of -KB IOs in the build?
-
Quote:Yup, definitely appreciate the feedbacks. Gives things to think about. Try them out, and then adapt to my playstyle. The good news is now the OP has a couple ways of looking at the issue, and
we're both pretty comfortable that the way we use works for each of us.
I would have never tried out Staminaless as I don't like running out of end; however, for stalkers, especially elec/wp, seems to be fine so far. It helps that you can control the engagement. I'm still missing tons of IOs especially the heavy duty procs, but I have one PvP IO that I will be putting up for sale, so that should help out a bit. -
Thx ConFlict for the build. It's pretty close to the build that I respec'd into, but I ended up going with Mako for shark and hibernate (plus phase). I also skipped on Fast Healing for SoW for end recovery purposes. As for slotting, on my pve build I had set of ToD on Havoc Punch, set of Mako's on AS, and set of Obliteration on both Thunder Strike and Lightning Rod. In order to pull other IO's out first, I kept them there for now. Since I have several respecs left on the toon, I will change them at a later time.
If you see "Ms. Danielle" that's me. See you in Freedom RV. -
How would you slot the following attacks for a staminaless Elec/WP/Mako stalker:
Thunderstrike (6 slots):
AS (6 slots):
Shark (6 slots):
Havoc Punch (5 or 6 slots): should I slot for purples (Fortunata) set bonus or actually slot for attack (will have at least the Fortunataroc)

Thanks for the info. This is very useful for the upcoming respec, but I still see quite few people slot Karma -kb and BotZ -kb into their /wp stalker build. Any reason for that?
