Quote:Marmite better than Vegemite ? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Ahem ... sorry about that ... Being Australian, I am biased to Vegemite. That being said, there are several different yeast extract spreads all very similar. Vegemite, and Marmite, as you said. Marmite has two versions. The original British Marmite, aswell as one produced in New Zealand (owned by Mars Corp I believe). There is also Promite, and Cenovis. All of them are made from yeast extract, a bi-product of brewing beer.Having recently been reading some discussions of vegemite i'm tempted to buy and try some marmite. (By every account it's like a better version of vegemite.)
Oh, here's a combo: Vegemite and natto.
Agreed. The mechanic i liked most in the changes that were suggested prior to i13 was the idea of melee attacks triggering travel power suppression. (But then i have a Night Widow who uses slotted Hurdle and Combat Jumping with lots of movement bonuses instead of a normal travel power.)
A diminishing returns system for heals, buffs and debuffs wouldn't have been so bad if it had been a bit less severe in the diminishment or implemented differently.
Before i13 i liked using my D3's controls and debuffs in zone PvP to assist teams. Far from optimal, likely to get my squishy butt killed, but it was fun.
Here's the trick with those spreads ... SPREAD THEM LIGHTLY! Don't spread it like you would jam or peanut butter.
All of the yeast extract spreads are a love it or hate it taste. Try'em all and see which one you like best. Just make sure it's Vegemite
As for PVP ... -
Quote:On test, I did bug this several times, and it managed to get through the cracks. If this is intentional, it is ridiculous. On average, solo, set as +2 enemies, with x3 to x8 virtual team size, I am averaging 4 recipes per run of the demon mission. Salvage is not an issue, that is dropping nicely, as are inspirations.A very big problem if you ask me, Kinda no point in playing at this point if the drops are almost non-existent.
I also did another test, where I set my mission to x1 hero (so normal mobs), got 3 fillers, then filled the map, so it populated naturally, rather than artificially through the difficulty settings. I did a solo run and received 8 common recipes, 1 uncommon, and 1 rare.
My theory on this is that it is trying to give recipe drops to the virtual team mates, even though they actually don't exist, when using the equivalent to X heroes. -

I've given this some thought, and I still don't know how I would really feel.
I'd probably be a little excited that there's something new for granite, but at the same time, probably miss having the old granite model more.
I dunno ... I would probably prefer to keep granite as is, until a better solution could be found. I don't care how long it takes. -
The only thing I can say about Mr Hassenpheffer's Twisted Burrow is that it is an experience. One could truly get lost in there for many many hours. He certainly has pushed the boundaries of what you can do with the base tools as it currently is. If this base isn't a push to have better tools implemented, I don't know what is.
Devs, take him up on his invite, and spend 30 minutes ... or so ... going through the base with him. -
Just cause i'm cheap, doesn't mean i'm not a big money hustla :P
As i said, if the game only lasted a year, I would've got my moneys worth.
But eh, thems the breaks ... They had my money, and then lost it. As it is, I don't see that game lasting very long. -
So, a friend of mine pre-ordered the other game, and he was telling me about it... sounded cool. So I bought myself a lifetime subscription. I thought, yeah, even if the game only lasts a year, I've got my moneys worth. My mate says, you know you probably have to buy the game aswell ...
I go back to the site, read through everything. At the bottom, there's a little * saying that a retail code is required to play the other game... I look back up at the offers, neither of the offers have that little star next to them, or any of the sublisted features. So sweet, i'm good.
About half way through the download, my mate keeps insisting that I'll need to buy a retail copy of the game. Thinking to myself, I just forked out $200 for a lifetime subscription, then i'll have to shell out another $50 for the game on top, which includes a month of play that's completely useless to me...
So I ring the other game's company. Ask the guy when I receive my retail code... He says that I have to purchase it from a store. I then ask him where on the site it says that either of the two offers say that. He points me to the little section down the bottom where the * is... and the second sentence in that paragraph that those offers are for the subscription part of the game. So I ask again, where does that paragraph point to either of those offers.
I don't know about you, but when there is some sort of indicator, such as a *, or ^ or any other symbol, it points to a particular item on the page. There was no such particular indicator on either item. So anyway, I just asked for a refund, as I wasn't going to shell out $200 for a lifetime subscription, that doesn't include the game, then have to fork out another $50 which includes a months play thats useless. He was happy to oblige, took 3 days for the refund to get back to me, but I did get it back. As a result of this incident, I have no intention of playing this game anymore. -
Sadly, reminds me of me ...

For you Americans ....
2 quarts of Tomato Sauce (or Kechup)
2 cups Apple Cider Vinegar
1/8 cup Salt
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Garlic Powder (or Minced Garlic)
1 tablespoon Cumin
1 tablespoon Chilli Powder
1 tablespoon Cayenne
1 tablespoon Celery Seed (ground)
Mix it all together in a nice large pot along with 1 onion briskly chopped (so real large chunks)
After about 30 minutes of cooking (highish heat), cut the sauce with a bottle of your favourite beer (12floz approx), water or cola (for a sweeter taste). Cook on highish heat until the onions break down.
Add more/less Cayenne/Chilli to taste.
Makes approximately 3 quarts of sauce.
Edit: Cook for longer to make a thicker sauce. -
I made some home made barbecue sauce on Friday, then used that sauce to cook a pork shoulder ... The sauce and pork sat in the oven at 300 for about 4 hours ... The pork was falling apart as I tried to get it out of the pan. It was so awesome and spicey.

I don't know what's more disturbing ... the fact that since I found that video, i've watched it 4-5 times a day, or the fact that those songs mesh so well ...

No, they got rid of Conserve Power because the next power after it was Powersink. Conserve Power was a complete waste of a power in that set. Powersink with 30 second recharge after slotting, made end a non-issue. Everyone I knew that had an Electric Armor brute never took Conserve Power because of this reason.

Quote:Ok, laymens terms ...
a) Did these costumes ACTUALLY help? and can someone explain in laymens terms HOW.
b) If so, The costumes COULD have been simplified even further (example Plain Tights, single colour) Why were they designed in such a way to include patterns and texture?
Get yourself a piece of paper, and draw some lines on it so you have 10 sections. In 5 of those sections, draw a single triangle, all about the same size, as fast as you can. Now, in each of the other 5 sections, draw 5 triangles, all attached to each other (total of 25 triangles), as fast as you can.
Essentially, the row with single triangles represent the most basic of costumes. The other row, represents more complex costumes. Each costume is made up of a certain amount of polygons. The lower amount of polygons is quicker to draw by the GPU, and can then move on to the next costume. More complex costumes take longer to draw by the GPU, thus cause graphical lag.
Now, on to the textures. Look to your side, reach out as if you were grabbing your texture (I know it sounds silly but it's the best thing I can think of), and then draw the same pattern on the 5 single triangles as fast as possible. For your row of multiple triangles, look to your side again, and reach out, draw your pattern on the first set of triangles, look to your side again, reach out, draw a different pattern on the next set, etc etc, as fast as possible.
By using the same texture, you're not forcing the GPU to go fetch a different texture to render, thus reducing graphical lag.
I think that's probably the simplest way it could be put. -
Quote:I don't mind bing Old School.
To me, Old School means I play new toons through sewers and missions instead of haunting the lobby of the AE building. Old School means that I build my toons for my own fun, and don't really care about the "optimal" IO min/max or FOTM. Old School means that regardless of whether we "need" tanks, they're still darn fun to play and nice to have on a team.
And I apparently never make it on those lists either.
This hehehe. -
Hey Darzer, to be honest, there isn't one favourite group I like beating on as a Hero, so unless it's really important, put me up against anyone, or pair me up with anyone who wants to. I'm just thrilled i'll eventually be immortalised in art

Quote:Well, they have given us release dates before, which was issue 5 I believe ... and that was the only time they have.Welcome the the CoH/CoV forums.
As an FYI the Devs have never (and likely will never) set a specific date for the launch of a new Issue, especially when it's just started its closed beta.
Part of the whole point of software beta testing is to make sure it's ready to be released. The Devs can't possibly know if new code is ready to go until it's actually been tested. Therefore they can't announce a date until they know the results of the beta testing. Now I'm quite sure the Devs have a "planned" date in mind as a goal for the release. But they will never tell us what those goals might be publicly because if things slip they wouldn't want to have to deal with the fallout from that.
Using the history of this game as a guide the closest we get to an "official" announcement of an Issue going live is perhaps a few days prior at most.
As far as info we have about Issue 16 specifically Posi tweeted that this one would have a pretty short beta cycle. I'd predict we'll probably see this go live within 4-6 weeks, especially since that will closely coincide with that "other" game's launch date.
And when will it be released?
Soon
or
When it's done
You choose. -
All I can say is that I am very surprised that they have allowed [ img ] tags ...
Other than that, just gotta get used to the new format, i've almost got it set up like I had it on the old forums. -
I wonder if changing the animation affects the name of the power aswell ...
-
There ain't no school like old school ...
Thanks ... now i'm going to have that song stuck in my head all night ... -
Ya know, Vanden, the work you've done to make the power icons as best they can be ... it's fantastic. Keep up the good work.
