I take both whenever possible, and I always take CJ for the added maneuverability in combat.
I will admit though that the boost to survivability that comes with capped defense (or at least 32.5) at the expense of other pool powers sometimes makes me sad. -

i personally have no feelings one way or the other specifically about female mm pets, but if you (collectively) want to see it happen, you're probably going to have to go after the root of the problem.
I've been trying to convince them that there is such a thing as being too worried about offending someone. Here's to hoping other folks will help hold up the torch, so to speak. -
Quote:I love the design for female thugs. The Ninja looks good but I'm not thrilled about the black and white color scheme.Due to some extreme boredom on my part, and a little creativeness, I decided to mess around in the character creator to see if I could come up with a few ideas for female pets. (Putting them as links so as not to make a giant post)
Going off the male ninja outfit, I came up with this:

http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/6...2dec070739.jpg
http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/4...3dec070739.jpg
http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/8...4dec070739.jpg
I used the following:
Head: Ninja
Hair: Topknot
Top: Baggy 2
Gloves: Warrior (look like "rough leather" to me)
Belt: Circle of Thorns
Pants: Baggy Tucked in
Boots: Wrapped (also look like "rough leather")
I also decided to try a "sexy" version:

http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/9...0dec070811.jpg

http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/1...2dec070811.jpg
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/141...3dec070811.jpg
I used the following:
Head: Ninja
Hair: Topknot
Top: Patent Leather
Gloves: Warrior
Belt: Circle of Thorns
Pants: Patent Leather
Boots: Flat Wrapped
I came up with this for Thugs:
http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/1...5dec070742.jpg
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/119...6dec070742.jpg
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/558...7dec070742.jpg
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/690...8dec070742.jpg
I used the following:
Head: Face 20 (I'm partial to that face on my females)
Hair: Shimmer (with teal and purple for a "punky" style)
Jacket: Biker
Sleeves: Retro
Shoulders: Small Tri-Spike
Top: Strapless
Gloves: Fingerless
Belt: Large Leather Eyelets
Pants: Basic Pants- Motorcycle Leathers
Boots: Combat
Oh, and for the sliders, I used these settings:
I was able to make them using current pieces I had available to me, and they weren't overly skimpy on the outfits. I based the ninja outfits off of the CoH ones, as well as the anime style, where the ponytail shows through the mask. For the thug look, I essentially went with the typical biker/punk female.
Any thoughts, comments? I will try coming up with some ideas for Mercs as well, and if you guys want, I can take a shot at female zombies
My primary MM is Merc/Dark and I'd love to see some female models for the set.
As far as the dubious reasons for denying the players the option for female MM pets. I think a more eloquent way to solve the problem of "Pimp MMs having their female pets worship at their feet or whatever" would be to create the female models, and then put in a simple metric which gives each summoned pet a 50/50 chance of spawning as male or female. That way each MM will get some of each gender. I suppose anyone who wants to have their female pets worship at their feet might not be deterred by some of them being male, but at that point it's not a Male toon dominating all female pets and just a MM dominating a co-ed group of servants. Granted this doesn't give a player (male or female) the option to create an Amazon MM with all female pets or a Grrl Power Thugs MM, but it will at least fix the total sausage fest of the current MM pet configuration. -
Oh I'm quite familiar with the female Praetorian Clockwork. I just think that since the MM Bots are barely humanoid and very gender neutral, there's no need to make "fembots". I will say that I was remiss to forget to include Demons on my first list.
BRING ON THE FEMALE MM PETS! -

Especially on a Brute. Death Shroud with Fury is a terrible combination. That why I built my StJ/DA Brute, because I want my character to suck.
Incidentally. If you take Cardiac for your alpha slot (which is almost mandatory on a DA toon) you can get S/L Resist to over 75% on a Tank and over 57% on a Brute/Scrapper/Stalker with Tough and a fully IO'd build. -
It's in the low 50s (according to mids 52.8 for my IO'd build) for a Brute with Tough. I would assume the numbers would be similar for a Scrapper and Stalker.

I posted about things like cigars (or better yet cigarettes) for females in the costume request thread years ago and they finally gave us that with the gunslinger pack.
I will echo most of the sentiments in this thread so far. Especially stuff like thigh high boots and bracers for men, and tattoos and coats for women.
I can understand the dev's resistance to things like corsets for males as it could (and probably would) result in absurd costumes created by the lowest common denominator of the player base. However, I think those will be the exception and not the rule. -

I don't know if it's "the single most beautiful thing mankind has ever created", but TW is definitely a very good power set. Very good on every AT that has access to it. I'm looking forward to rolling up the Tank I played on test when I get home from work.
-
I plan to make an Elec/TW Tank, but I have to concur with everyone else that Elec would be better on the Brute.
-
I would seriously consider both sets. However, as others have said, it would greatly depend on whether the armor set was resistance or defense or a combination of the two. Not to mention what other tricks it had to offer. For the Melee set it would matter what the ST v. AoE DPS was like.
Also, if they were released concurrently, price would be a factor. Even though I'm getting 550 PP a month, 2 separate 800 point power sets would pretty much require that I buy more paragon points. If I could get both for say 1200, it would certainly tempt me.
If there was a damage aura that did -Def and could slot the Achilles Heel proc... YES -
While it technically wouldn't be "new", I for one would LOVE to see Ninjitsu proliferated to Scrappers. I know there has previously been talk of Radiation or Psychic Armor sets which might also be cool, but I for one just want to make a /Ninjitsu Scrapper.
-
Just a guess but what I'd expect to see for the T9 would be smaller versions of "Fluffy" more like Imps or Gremlins. Maybe 2-3 who do moderate damage and To Hit Debuff.
-
That explains a lot. I had slotted the TI proc on a few toons but it never seemed to fire. It seemed like the only mobs being stunned were the ones I had just hit with Jab or Boxing. It didn't seem worth the investment so I switched to Perfect Zinger procs. Now I know why. It's a shame because I was really excited about putting a Stun proc in an AoE taunt power.
-
Nice find.
The word "survivability" implies our theories are correct about getting either Life Drain or Siphon Life.
Gather Shadows sounds cool. Especially on a recharge intensive Dom build. -
I feel your pain ShadowMoka. After playing around with TW on test I am chomping at the bit for the set.
But at least we'll be able to enjoy it set during the winter event. -
Yes, both Dark Blast and Darkness Manipulation are seriously solid sets.
The silver-lining of Moonbeam being included in DA is the ability to 5 slot SotM for help with perma-Dom. -
Quote:I hope they skip moonbeam, never been a big fan of snipes. Touch of Fear would be a nice touch, making a Dark/Dark the undisputed master of ph34r!
Edit: Ooooohhh, even beter; a reworked (for all archetypes) Cloak of Fear. Such an awesome power thematically and visually, but the massive accuracy penalty and end usage are over the top. 80% accuracy and .5 end has always seemed fair to me.
I doubt they'll skip moonbeam, but here's hoping they do.
As far as CoF (which seems unlikely) 75% and .52 would bring it in line with most of the PBAoE damage auras. -
Good point, but I don't know that the taunt sets would be the best choice from most of the auras because they provide zero end reduction. I just wish I had enough slots to put more than the default one in Taunt. I'd love to 6 slot Perfect Zinger on all my Tanks and Brutes.
-
2 Tanks on the docket:
SR/TW to replace a currently WP/Axe. TW fits the concept so much better and I'm really excited to see how SR works on a Tank
and Elec/TW because that's what I've been playing on beta and it is a nasty combo.
Also, I see no reason to not to pair TW with a clicky set. It is not possible to maintain Momentum. After 5 (15 if you used BM) seconds it goes away. Use your click powers while you don't have Momentum. -
It IS a shame. I would love to be able to use the proc from Triumphant Insult to turn any taunt aura into a low rent version of Oppressive Gloom.
-
Just going by other Assault sets, it seems likely that the tier 9 will be either a direct port of or a variation on either Midnight Grasp, Umbral Torrent, or Tenebrous Tentacles. I think everyone will be disappointed if it doesn't include either Siphon Life or Life Drain.
This is just a guess based on currently existing Assault Sets, but I'd expect Dark Assault to look something like:
Dark Blast
Shadow Punch
Gloom
Smite
Power Boost
Shadow Maul/Umbral Torrent/Tenebrous Tentacles?
Siphon Life/Life Drain
Dark Consumption
Midnight Grasp/Umbral Torrent/Tenebrous Tentacles? -
Until we hear otherwise, I'd say it's pretty safe to assume that Dark Assault will be a combination of Dark Blast and Dark Melee. I doubt there will be very many new powers in that set. I just hope it gets either Siphon Life or Life Drain so /Dark Doms can have a self heal the way that /Dark Blasters do.
