  1. Pretty much what everyone else said. ZERO points and I have been active during the full window!
  2. As always, an excellent job and a fantastic product!
  3. the "scroll snap" has been mentioned on Ustream and they are looking into it. as to the other issue, since the servers are not live for the public yet, we will all be getting that message.
  4. Good idea. I am uploaded and updated as well, but, JUST IN CASE... I am checking for consistencies too.
  5. The hate for our Freedom... Or our Exalted... Something.

Exalted isn't even on the list of servers when checking server status. yet...

  8. I will probably move 1. Just to move it.
  9. Soooooo, there are three channels to NOT join?
  10. I too thought I'd get a last look, and the server was already down...

Well, maybe that means they'll be back UP an hour earlier as well???
  11. well played... well played indeed!

Well, that pretty much sums up the devs' thinking.

Sounds like MARTy is going to seriously slow down the leveling times doing this.
They swear this is only for something like defeating every mob in Perez Park at once, or one-shotting the freedom Phalanx...

Still... I don't know... This looks bad.

And I have 3 claws/elec brutes now, and they are all fun (different servers)
  16. I've searched the SoA forum for any instance of using a crab to tank (and I mean, tank EVERYTHING, from Siege to Romulus to a Hami) and I reckon my Search-Fu is weak, because I cannot find anything.

Yes, I've found how to soft-cap crabs.

Yes, I've found some very good advice on gettting resists up.

I've seen melee (read - non-pet) builds that look decent.

But, I've never seen anything to say, "this can be done" or even "you can't and why would you want to?"

For example, I have a rather nice crab on Virtue and I love pulling Siege and Nightstar, but I can't taunt for crappola, and somehow chaingun ain't cutting it.

    Do I get Provoke? Challenege?

Also, I've found that frenzy is a limited damage PBAoE, but it sure gets their attention.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
  17. I am LONGING to make a Elec Armor/Street Justice tank... Just gotta remain patient...
  18. As has been stated before in the thread, had they released Street Justice I'd have had everything picked out for my wants...

As it is, another crab spider (trying out some things), a dark/dark blaster, a KM/WP brute, and I am sitting on a concept waiting for street justice/elec brute to be available.

Have you seen the damage that fully Tier-4'd incarnates can put out?

Have you seen how many people not only solo AVs, but solo the most difficult AVs and GMs and even solo entire task forces. Hell, some have solo'd the Lord Recluse Taskforce, including taking down over 8 AVs at once in that final battle. And anyone who solos the ITF is defeating not just Romulus but 4 AV-class nictus plus all the ambushes. I've seen 2-man Rikti Mothership raids including spawning and killing Ukon Grai.

We already have teams of 4 people completing the Apex and Tin Mage taskforces, and teams of 2 completing the Lamda trial.

Have you been on a Cathedral of Pain post i20? I've seen a single group of 6 pull it off. According to them it's easier because fewer people to screw up the timing.

Is that not epic enough for you?

Are you unable to project forward into time?

With a few more incarnate slots people will be soloing the content that currently takes teams. Sure it takes 14 poorly or average built i20 characters to beat Siege and Nightstar. It'll only take 1 or 2 poorly built i23 characters and it already only takes 2 well built ones.

Power is a progression. The leading edge is always were things are hardest. But even so, the best of the best are definitely getting more and more powerful and doing things that are more and more impressive. a team of two taking down marauder in the Lamda or a single villain taking out the whole freedom phalanx in the Lord Recluse Strike Force is a significant jump in power from previous issues.
This ^^^ ALL of This (italics and bold added by me for emphasis)

Last night I decided to start the process of getting my lvl. 50 elec/elec brute from rogue to straight up hero.

I chose a hero tip mission and went inside...

And the door was hot. It looked like there were Nemesis everywhere!
I waxed everyone relatively easily, and then, out of curiosity, I looked at my diff setting:

    +2/x8

I was running some content earlier with a PuG and we needed a challenge and I forgot to change it.

And that brute is not all tier 4, but rather tier 3 incarnates.

The progression of those of us who remember how things were prior to enhancement diversification (slotting the heck out of something and how it all got "nerfed") and then to the IOs, then to Alpha slots and now the incarnates... We are becoming "super".

When the film The Watchmen came out, one critic stated that only one being was truly a "super hero" (Doctor Manhattan) and all the rest 'merely' heroes. Well, we ain't there yet, but we're much closer than we were issue 1.

@Acemace - Would you care to elaborate about the filthy cheat part? Freedom is THE farming server. Other servers have farmers and farming, but Freedom is KNOWN for it server wide. Been that way since AE.

@UberGuy - I'll get to your boggling noggin in a moment, but you are correct that it happens far less obtrusively elsewhere.

@Techbot Alpha - Yes, Union too. There are some SGs on Union who have a designated "farmer" who has the (un)enviable task of PowerLeveling alts for the leaders of the SG, or as rewards for getting to a certain amount of Prestige. My main on Union IS a farmer.

@MAD UMLAUTS - This... Simply this.

    TL/DR
I wasn't always a farmer. As a matter of fact, I looked quite skeptically at the notion. I had 10 50s before ever I set foot on Freedom. ALL through Content. Heroes, Villains, Rogues, Vigilantes, Praetorians, Peacebringer, Warshade, Bane, Widow, Crab; all leveled to 50 via content. I wanted to see the content red side versus blue side, the different arcs for the different EATs/VEATs.

    And I did.

When late April rolled around and they started talking about the stress test for Freedom and the BIG MEGA ULTRA SUPER-MAX Praetorian Invasion, I realized I didn't even HAVE a character on Freedom. So, I rolled up a tank, but one I'd never played before but saw some on the Freedom chat boards: A Fiery Aura-Electric Melee tanker.

I went through the tutorial, picked Atlas and I zoned, trained with Ms. Liberty, and immediately got a tell from someone asking me if I'd like a free farm.

I said sure, they said come to AE. 2 runs later I was able to slot SOs.

And free. No costs. That farmer has farmed me since, sometimes for inf, and sometimes not. I would always offer.

Well, Electric Briquette was 50 before the invasion, and even slotted credibly enough for the fights (I was in Talos and Peregrine for most of the Invasion).

I got my global badge, I had a new server I had made friends with... now what?

The first time someone asked me for a farm, I said no, not because I didn't want to (as I recall I was standing around the Merit Vendor at WWs), but because I wasn't IOed enough to stand in the middle of a bunch of fire-breathing cyborgs or cat-people or zombies or whatever.

I do farm folks for inf sometimes, usually I run a trivia contest broadcast and the first 4 who answer correctly get a free farm or two (or three).

Some of the people who beg for farms (which annoys me as well) didn't set foot one outside AE except to train. The first time I had a lvl 50 ask me where Cimerora was, I almost spit my coffee onto my laptop. HOWEVER, many who pay for farms have already leveled several characters to incarnate status and want to try something new. Nothing wrong with that.

How else do you think a lvl 2 Ill/Rad troller has 100 million inf in the first place?

Mark my words, with the advent of CoH:F, we will see decidely fewer farmers for a while. The new content, the new arcs, the new trials and TFs, and the new paradigm of who can and cannot do what with whom and where will put a serious damper on the "PL me NAO, plz?!" syndrome we all view with equal distaste.

We USED to be able to say, "I pay my $15, I play my way." Well, we can't say that anymore. Not sure WHAT the mantra will be, but I think for Content-driven folks, the changes are for the better.

When Daddy played, she wanted to play too. And she could, but she wanted, mostly, to sort of follow along and help every so often. She said she wanted to be invisible. Was the only AT at the time that could be invis at lvl 1.
  23. The game as it currently stands-
My Elec/Elec/Mu brute is a beast with no PvP or purple sets.
    OR
My extremely expensive FA/Elec/Pyre tank has duoed an ITF countless times; might could do it.
The game as it it will be in a month or so-
A Street Justice/Elec/Mu brute. I played one while StJ was available on beta and it was awesome. Just heaps of broken foes at your feet, and end is not a problem. The Negative damage from the Nictii in the ITF might be a bit of a problem, but pop a few oranges and all is well.
