  1. Just a heads up! To those that are playing as a free account on CO, freeform character slots are 50% off!

Hahaha, yeah, the OOC channel can get VERY chatty... That's why I just created a new chat tab specifically for CORP and Zone chat. The IC channel stays in my main chat window, though.
  3. Frieeendly bump for those who might not have seen it.
  4. I've been playing both CoX and CO for a long time, so I've got my home there. For those considering CO, or those that are already there, please see this thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...47#post4373547
  5. Hello, Virtue! This post is for those that may be considering migrating their characters to CO in the near future, have already done so, or will be making a fresh start. I play Rezz, 50 SS/invuln brute and have played him and only him for 6 glorious years, 4 of which took place on Virtue. Many of you have seen me in-game recently, talking with people and answering question about CO. Myself and a few good friends of mine run Champions Online RolePlayers, or CORP, the RP community over in CO that has been around since launch, and we want to help.

I've made many great friends here on Virtue. Some of which I now consider to be extremely close, some of which I've even managed to meet outside of the game. Virtue has given me some of my greatest video game memories, and there will never be another game like it. I know a lot of you. This server has some of the greatest people and characters I've ever seen, and I don't want to see them fade into obscurity. I want to help give them a place to live on and continue their stories, and I am not alone.

CORP is a thriving, active RP community of Roleplayers, many of us long time CoX players. Our forums are active, with IC and OOC channels in game with active moderators, and I fund CORPs vent server, for you social butterflies with a lot to say.

I'd like to extend an invitation to check us out at http://championsonlineroleplayers.shivtr.com/ if you plan on making the switch. I'm also more than willing to answer any questions you may have about the community and what we're all about, even what you can expect from the game, itself. While I definitely don't know everything, I'll do what I can.

I understand that CO isn't to every bodies taste, and I respect that... But if you feel the need to yell and scream about how much you hate CO, CORP, myself or the others who help run it, that's fine, but this is not the place to vent your frustrations :P You can always NOT play CO and play whatever MMO you choose. Remember, it's okay to not like things, just don't be a dick about it, please.

Anyway, before I start to ramble again, I'd like to close by saying that we'd love to have you all join us I'll provide my contact information below, but feel free to post here if you see fit and I'll do my best to answer what I can. Look forward to seeing the lot of you in CO!

  6. I'm preeeetty certain that it's just a matter of Ultra Mode being designed for certain hardware configurations and, for whatever reason, my setup just wasn't one of them. I've attached a dxdiag with my system specs, but for those who need/want it at a glance...

    Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Mobo: EVGA 790i
    Video Card: EVGA GTX 295
    CUP : Intel Core 2 Quad 9650 @3.0 ghz
    8 gb of RAM
aaaand my Monitor is actually an HDTV, and my resolution is set to 1804 x 1010 (1920 x 1080 stretches beyond the reaches of the actual TV, whose resolution by default is 1920 x 1080 :| )

But even so, NO OTHER GAME I PLAY, be it CO (Don't flame me), or even Crysis on MAX settings gives me only 6 damned FPS. This game.. THIS SIX YEAR OLD GAME, Ultra Mode or not, should NOT cripple my beast of a system. I currently run the game with Max settings WITHOUT Ultra Mode at about 55 fps constant. Any idea why Ultra Mode does this? Memory leaks? Is it out of spite, as I have CO installed on my computer? Has CoX become sentient and vindictive?

Edit: ...I seem to NOT be able to post attachments, either. Well, damn. I guess I'll be copy pasting. FFFFF-

    Out Of THis World.

    Never beat that freaking game...

And yeah, Gradius 3. YOu finally get all those wicked powerups and then you DIE... Good luck getting themback again with 80 bullets on the screen at once.
  8. ...OP, you're pretty much RP cancer. You remind me of so many people I used to hate, oh, a good 8 years ago in AOL chat rooms and still do, to this day.
  9. You crazy heroes and your epic Story Lines that I can't be apart of because I'm one of those.. 'redside' people.
  10. Honestly... You can hate on the D all you like, but that has very little to do with your RP experience. I do not play an emo catgirl vampire and I get a fair amount of good RP. Perhaps the reason so many people get ignored/find bad RP/no RP, whatever your problem seems to be is because.. well, your character just isn't that interesting.

Maybe it's time to stop blaming other people, and PLACES for your lack of decent RP and start blaming yourselves.
  11. I had installed the Windows 7 RC not too long ago, yet when i ran CoX, my colors were all kinds of messed up. Technically, the game was running, but there were greens and purples EVERYWHERE. Graphics card is a gtx 295. Anyone else have that issue?

Of course you'll be there!!! I"m in San Antonio too! Woot.

New fanfic coming soon... Spurs fans unite and vanquish the Rikti! Unless you're not a Spurs fan and I'll denounce you. =)

Edit: blah blah.. deleted stuff where I made fun of Xad. He's a nice guy. He means well. But yeah, brushing my teeth, wandered back. Heading to bed soon.

You know. I'd love to shoot a scene at the Riverwalk and superimpose a shot of Hamidon spawning in the center near the mall. And pay a bunch of kids to shoot at his position with waterguns. Pew pew. Make for a great SG trailer.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of Basketball... I'm more for football.. and we don't ahve a team. WAY TO GO, SAN ANTONIO.

I'd be up for shooting a watergun at an invisible entity at one of the most populated places in the city. It'd be a blast, until the people in white came and carried us away. What part are you from? I'm originally from the North East. Converse area... But, after I joined the Air Force, I got slapped over to Lackland. :/

Always nice to talk to other local people
  13. Taken on my Nintendo DSi :3

It's a little blurry, but my PC is somewhat visible. It's the monstrous black tower behind my 360.
  14. Well, I used to be big on Forum RPing and that kind of thing, but.. Now, I've been spoiled by beautiful virtual worlds and anything else just doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore. :O

    Thanks for the responses
  15. This is sort of an odd question, so bear with me, if you will...

I know that Virtue is the unofficial RP server, but.. Are there any other ones out there that are big on RPing not only hero side, but villain side as well? I was unfortunate enough to start on a server with a few friends who no longer play, and my current server doesn't RP.. like, hardly at all. Hero side has a few, but villain side not so much.

This leads me to my next question: I'm sure you're all aware that when server transfers DO come out, people like myself (There are quite a few, I'm sure) will be lining up to move to the bigger servers.. in my case, a higher population server that is also known for it's RP community.. Virtue. This got me thinking.. With server transfers, comes people transferring of of the higher population servers. Now, I'd probably break down and cry if I finally arrived on a server that RP's heavily only to have everyone transfer off, heheh. SO my other question is this. When server transfers arrive, are there any plans in the RP community in CoX to all transfer to a certain server, or am I safe in wanting to transfer to Virtue?
  16. Yeah, I posted on Guardians forums as well. Thanks for your help
  17. I'm on Guardian Server and looking for an active RP focused SG that RP's regularly. I've been dying to RP my villain for 26 levels and decided to finally register on the forums to broaden my search. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
