Actually, I would like to further this request with the possibility of introducing slowed down versions of Katana Animations for broadsword so we can have a "two handed heavy sword" and one the inverse, sped up versions of broadsword's single handed swings for Katana? (kind of a step back to the pre-issue one katana, but I figure since we'd be giving broadsword two handed option, might as well...)
Though the big issues I see with this is... Shield defense... Okay, so, not so pressing, more just throwing this out so I can bring up...

Perhaps katana type sword customizations for broad sword, as well as broadsword customizations for katana?

Exactly! Imperious mentions to villains that he's perfectly okay with them wantonly killing, as long as it's his enemies. This because of an effect known as Values Dissonance.
It was an early gimmick for my main katana scrapper because he was a noble from Feudal Japan, shy of attacking other nobles, he WAS the law of his area, and in his backstory he got into A LOT of trouble because he killed some Vazhilok Doctors who were about to CUT HIS FRIENDS OPEN in front him after finding a metric buttload of evidence that supported that they had killed plenty of other people.
So in his mind, he has no regrets about killing them, but he does know that in the modern era, life taken for life taken does not equal justice like it used to in his days.
He's often still conflicted by this, nevermind that quite a few of the other heroes around him have lectured him on not killing and then proceed to go and blow up a council base.
  3. David, might I direct you to this thread and its posted link?

I think a lot can be gained from applying that algorithm properly.

You know, kind of like Villa Monteriggioni
Mmmmm... I likey this idea much.

He's got a point, Aku. Also, I really wish we COULD get proper hakama, keiogi, and haori (especially if we could get Shinsengumi versions), my main katana scrapper looks very bad in a suit, so it would be nice if he could dress in Japanese formal wear.
  6. For both the people who want more anime options and those who are against it seeing anime as stupid/monogenre, allow me to present you with something...

    This is anime/manga:

    (Lucky Star)

    So is this:

    (Otoyomegatari)

    And this:

    (Busou Renkin)

    This too:

    (Black Lagoon)

My advice for /Energy (which I play, she handles pretty nicely but I think i see where you and Sam are going) might be to lower the damage a little, increase stun time as well as stun chance (or perhaps make it 100% on the base attacks) and it would seem good.

But my personal theory about secondaries like fire and energy for blasters is that in contrast to others, they are not about mitigation, but all about bringing the pain in the most intense senses, which is why they both have build up and lots of attacks. They mitigate damage (and well enough or poorly based on your outlook) by killing things faster.

Another idea was that possibility that you could choose between two powers with an option given like the Nemesis Staff or Black Wand vet, the alternative to Seize Gears could be something like "Technomancy" that would be a decent duration (like 20 or 30 seconds) irresistible Confusion that only effected machine enemies below EB level.

As a third alternative, maybe a magic gun with good range, moderate energy/lethal damage with a debuff of some kind, and a decent recharge.

Four idea: Oracle LANing. A special PBAoE team Defense and ToHit Buff that increases for the number of teammates around you.
  10. I like this idea, also, may I suggest the temp power for this pack as:

Seize Gears Incantation- Close Range (40 ft), Foe: (Special vs. Robots: Hold (Mag 3 +60% chance for +3 Mag for 15 secs), -End (50 points), -Recovery (-1000% for 30 sec)), Rech: Long (5 minutes)
The Modern Magus has learned to both master the modern arts as well as dominate them. This simple cantrip is the product of their early crusades against the Modern Era and will lock down mechanical foes and even those not completely mechanical such as Crey Powered armors or Freakshow Tanks and Champions, it will also drain them of a large portion of their power and unable to recover for some time.

Foes affected: Council and Fifth Column robots, Freakshow Champions, Juicers, and Tanks (But not enforcers or mad freaks), Arachnos robots, drones, and tarantulas (but not crab spiders), Sky Raider Jumpbots, Nemesis Jaegers, Fake Nemeses, Warhulks, Automatons, Praetorian Clockwork, and Malta titans and gun drones, and Crey Powered Armors.

This seems to work out pretty well to me, though maybe to make up for the last of AV at the end, bump Pitbull up to a regular boss tier.

Also, may I suggest that instead of trying to wave it off, Frost would actually become very terrified of the Strike Force when he learns that they survive and basically the end dialogue would be him begging/bartering to be let off from your wrath.
Maybe have the SF give out Double Inf to represent this payoff.

And using GR's choices Dialogue, you can either choose to let him go and walk away... Or give him a nasty warning. (Ultimately it would be pointless, but you would get flavor text at least SAYING you beat the little weasel into the ground and left him black and blue)

I have no problem specifically with the idea, I just know that the forumites (including me) aren't always the best judge of things.
    Basically the sum of things.
It's a good idea Rachel, just... Well.
Lemme put it to you think way, Jason Todd was killed off on a vote that the readers honestly didn't think the writers would go through.

Of course, in theory, this could be mitigated through initial voting stages being for nominating powersets to be voted on, and then the devs would sort out from the nominations the final voting candidates, this could also mean the devs could sort out things not exactly feasible. (Spear melee... ;_ But at some point the player base is probably going to unintentionally ruin things be making sure all nominations would be ridiculous choices.

Finally, there's the work and time that gets put into each powerset then tends to make the average release time of a powerset about 1 to 2 per 2 issues. Going Rogue being a major exception.

    Angels vs Demons

Biggest reason I see why NC Soft won't go for this is the whole Politically Correct thing.. Heaven forbid (did she just say heaven LOL) we have angels in game someone might take offense. Okay that said then explain why we seem perfectly willing to acknowledge the existance of hell through Demon summoning but not a heaven? Personally I really don't mind one way or the other and I love my DS/DM that thought just sort of popped into my head as I read this post. Unfortunately for the OP for the reasons I stated in paragraph one along with the whole PC issue I doubt you'll see angels in game any time soon. Hey do what the one person suggested and create a character that's an angel.
Heh, the funny thing about this is that Christianity seems to have mostly done this themselves when they converted pagans and literally demonized their old gods (some of whom I might imagine they were more willing to demonize than others, Lerajie doesn't exactly sound too nice), this seems to have led to the subconscious outlook in the Western world that demons are everywhere and exist in all religions, but angels only exist in one.

Personally, it might be nice to see some reference that there are forces of good in the game outside of heroes/PC heroes. To my understanding, the only good god in CoX lore canon is Ermeeth, the god who taught humanity magic and wanted to make humans equal to the gods. And it can be assumed he's been at least MIA since the end of the Mu Oranbegan war.
Oh, and Faathim the Kind too.
That brings up good cosmic forces in the CoX universe up to... Two.

okay, you have a point there.
To be honest, it's always bugged me how female tights/chest options mold to each breast as though the fabric was either built over a bra or painted on.
I mean, I'm a guy, but even I would have preferred the female tights/chest options behave as though they're made from actual fabric, like the armored, shirt, robe, and jacket options. Okay, the latter three are a bit of a stretch (no pun intended) at larger chest sizes, but for the most part they can be valid examples.
(I admit this partly has to do with the fact that I prefer to dress all my female toons modestly except for a few cases, in which case I live up the outrageousness for all its worth.)

Can you imagine Spines or Fire Blast with -ToHit?
I only vaguely understand what you're getting at here, and yes balance would be one of the major issues, but I do not imagine Spines of Fire gaining dark secondary effects/damage. Since those already have elemental features to them, they would instead likely get things like, I don't know, Spines gaining Thorn Trops instead of one of its other powers.

Have you ever wanted a 'demolitionist character'? One that deals with bombs, mines, missiles, grenades and all things explody? Well, I probably wouldn't feel right asking for 9 powers with this theme in mind considering, as a blaster, you can have mines and a time bomb from devices and a missile from munitions and a grenade from AR...but that's only 5 powers spread across 3 pools!

Well, what about branching AR to have some alternative power options balanced as if it were a new set? You could mix and match some of the first couple of powers but the last ones would require certain power picks.
I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with this. It reminds me way too much of the old Ragnarok Online skill tree that could get insanely frustrating.
Similar frustrations can be found in this game with needing boxing or kick to get tough and or weave, or the Epic Power Pools.

    ...
I know there are powers out there some people wouldn't touch with a barge pole, while some look at them and wonder how they can live without it. Here's some more I can think of which you may or may not agree with, these are all my opinions: Smoke, Dimension Shift/Black Hole, Hand Clap/Lightning Clap, Soul Transfer, Rise of the Phoenix, Tremor, Elemental Weapon attacks (some just want to hit them in a different way rather than make swords/hammers), Serum (from Mercs), Time Bomb.
Well, I'll admit that I can't see it happening with alt selections for all powers, much less all sets. For example, Amors are meant to work as a whole rather than a collection of individual powers, so I don't see any alternate selections for them, or MM pets.
What I can see for MM primaries is alt selections on the ranged attacks taking options from other primaries, like being a ninja MM with a pulse rifle, or a a Mercs MM with dark blasts from Zombies.
But also, the level 18 powers would get alternate selections as well. One concept is that for any MM who controls non-humans would gain the ability to cast irresistible confusion on their associated class of enemy, like Necromancers gaining "Rebuke Undead".
Imaginably, this would not work against AVs or EBs, but still a load of laughs for a long duration single target confusion.
