  1. The latter point you make is a rather interesting one, Arcanaville, I mean let's look at what all the Incarnates we've seen in game wear so far:

Statesman: Wears perhaps the most visually obvious superhero wear ever. The only thing that distinguishes him is how his cap sets over his shoulders and the faceplate. Otherwise, I've always felt that if you saw a picture of Statesman without any additional context, you would know he's a super hero, and he does it without wearing Incarnate armor.

Lord Recluse: He wears armor alright, but definitely nothing that screams "incarnate" instead it says "Spider-man, Evil Overlord."

Stheno: Also wears armor, golden armor in fact, but it feels ancient than ascendant, strangely regal than other-worldly.

Imperious: Roman armor, horns, Statesman's cape and mask... Yeah, honestly, Romulus looked more impressive.

Emperor Cole/Tyrant: none of what he wears looks like an Incarnate armor, if anything, his armor is still meant to be a more regal and imperial looking version of Statesman's. When he doesn't wear that, he looks like he's auditioning for The Candy Man Can.

Trapdoor: Yeah, nothing that looks very Incarnate about him when he's all in spandex, even moreso than States. Nope, nothing terrible "Incarnate" looking about him.

You: Yes, your characters that have reached Incarnate. No offense, but they probably don't look very Incarnate, or at least not the image of Incarnate they're trying to push in Ascension armor. Instead, much like all other Incarnates listed here thus far, you look like any normal character who's had a loving amount of attention paid to your character design.

    Edit:
Hero 1: (Thanks to That Ninja) A lot like Statesman, he looks very typically superhero-ish, though more unique in that you'd think his helmet's visor would hint at him being a cyborg. (what? no one else thought that?)

My personally theory is that Cole made up the Incarnate Armor business make sure his IDF know who to shoot first.

I concur. I also want to question Positron's belief that gating these pieces is anymore a disservice to their work than giving them out. Personally, I feel that we could appreciate the Ascension Armor a bit MORE if it was a bit more common.

Though in the end, I'll accept the level 50 gate, grudgingly so but accepted.

What really does bug me is the emotes and auras locked behind the Incarnate system because, as people have pointed out: "what's so 'incarnate' about about being able to actually get winded or fall over?"

    Okay...

I like the new Clunker aura with the trail effect. Very nice. I also greatly appreciate being able to use it on more violent characters as though they were leaving a "trail of blood" behind them by using the appropriate colors.

    However...

I have a twisted mind... it's both a blessing and a curse that everything I see I tend to twist around to either humorous or macabre ends. I can't help it.

Since this game has a Teen rating I won't blurt out my ACTUAL first thoughts when I saw a Bass-Ackward's 4th picture on the 2nd page of this thread.

I WILL say, however, that she should only use that aura every 28 days.
Well thank god, I'm not the only one who thought that.

I was doing the mission "Stop Nemesis Attack!" from Black Scorpion which requires you to destroy 4 Nemesis Mole Machines. I noticed it was taking me forever to kill them even on a high DPS character so I took a look at them with my power analyzer and discovered that they have 75% resistance to everything except Psionic (which is 50%). I really, really think that this needs to be reduced. Spending several minutes cycling through my attacks against an inanimate object that can't fight back is in no way interesting.

Several other objective items seem to be similar (the Meteor in the Shivan mission of the Ouroborus Initiation arc comes to mind as another offender) I really think that these items should have their resistances and/or hit points reduced.
What's even weirder about this is that an inanimate machine is somehow more vulnerable to psychic mental attacks than physical ones. My brain is hurting trying to comprehend how this works!

There was at the time a lot of pushback to that. I remember in the 60s and 70s the scandal to the previous generations to see women wear pants in public and professional settings!

Naturally, the men weren't clamoring to be wearing the clothing associated with 'the weaker sex.' It was then stigmatized as being gay (not that there should be anything considered wrong with that) or feminine (not that there should be anything considered wrong with that). I remember the older generations bothered to no end when men started to wear hair length past their ears ("those sissies!").
Point, but I think we can still agree that it would be nice to get costume proliferation across model frames.

Personally I would like the borelo shoulder fur for some of my guys to give them fuzzy jackets. (Maybe it won't look quite as good in my head, but ya never know until ya try, right?)
There's also the headband thing that's been brought up before, and one of my male characters has... Memory problems when it comes to his appointments with the barber, so by now he'd probably be using the longest hairs female models have.

I'm serious. They said that. Not all of them giving all those reasons. But by different devs at different times in regard to different pieces.
And my faith in the developers of this game plummets just a little more. But what reasons could they honestly give for not giving women certain options? I mean it's impossible these days for a woman to be considered a crossdresser

Point, it's just always been a personal joke of mine.

These were still their own upper body type, but they existed as an extra layer above the body and did not affect the Tights torso at all. Both jackets and sleeves were placed a certain distance over the torso surface. Also, the few neck details, such as the bow tie, were put under Shoulders.

    ...

And the Steampunk short sleeves are using Jay's new arm swap sleeve technology, rather than the Shirt technology which I believe actually pre-dates his employment. I personally believe that while a total arm swap may be appropriate for long sleeves, short sleeves should only ever be an overlay. I've seen almost no real use to having them be total arm swaps.
Actually, the ironic part is that shirt appeared with the "new" jackets in issue 4 as part of the "Anime set." So not only does shirt tech not predate it and they simply forgot, they were working on it at the same time as the rest of the jackets.

Vet trenchcoat doesn't replace the upper arms, simply because it was built in with a sleeveless option.

On your second point, I've always suspected that the devs don't want wings and long coats on one character for fear of this becoming City of Devart.
  11. another temp power recipes I'd like to see:

-Sub-Machine Gun (lets you use Burst with an SMG model)

    -Assault Rifle (Heavy Burst)

-Portable Gatling Gun (special model of a gatling gun held AR style that uses Full Auto)

Well, Shirts are shirts... I wish we had more for girls, and shirts for men too so we could have shirts that actually hang over over our waistbands instead of always tucked in and not have to be jackets.

The ascot exists, but not as it's own chest detail. it's on Victorian Steampunk 2 and 3 for men under jackets.

Actually, the reason for this is because when you wear full jackets, your character model doesn't have upper arms to reduce poly count, so when you use the short sleeve dress shirt option, or the Steampunk booster shortsleeved pieces, the upper arms you see are actually part of the costume rather than your base model.
  15. So there are plenty of people who have been asking for an Incarnate solo path, and while the Devs understand this, they don't want people to stop playing the Trials and such they've worked their ***** off on.
So here's my compromise, a special series of solo TFs in Ouroboros, what are they about?

They're about attempting to learn more about the nature of the Incarnates by possessing Incarnates of the past. Though a special form shift power, you will enter each mission arc and play through some of the major events that would shape the lives of many Incarnates we know now.
Play as the Praetorian and Primal Marcus Cole to witness how alike their lives were yet radically different, play as a fledgling Lord Recluse as he rises to the top of the food chain, live out Stheno's curse as she becomes the monster, and more could be added.

Now for the mechanical and reward parts, basically, since so many people wanted a solo path, part of the catch with these is that they are SOLO ONLY. After all, there's only one Marcus Cole (Per-dimension) and such, so you will be facing Incarnate level trials solely on your own.
The next is rewards, I think how it could work is that the first time you go through each arc and complete them, you earn a small number of Emp Merits, maybe like five at the most, ultimately it depends on how many could be added. The second time, you get a larger sum of Astral merits, and on the third run, you only get some Reward merits.

so, what do you guys think? Aside from the dire need to be fleshed out.

Well, maybe not powersets, but the Devs have commented on wanting to make later Epic ATs require something other than a level gate...

I know they said requiring fifty was a mistake, so I think that honestly does rule out Incarnate locked EATs, it's just that my faith in the devs is going on a bit of a downward spiral.

But Rularuu is out to EAT the multiverse.
Plus, what's wrong with opening up a new front in the war to protect the Multiverse? I mean, being besieged by two god-like, interdimensional monsters? That's just the kind of thing all heroes and face and villains aspire to.

Since swords tend to not have ranged attacks and would probably end up with a smaller number of them than the phantom army, may I suggest summoning five to ten swords of different types with one or two (weak) attacks each? It just doesn't feel like a storm of blades with only three out.
  20. Let's see... Possible powersets they can explore:

    Melee:
    - Staffs (Smashy polearms)
    - Spears (Pointy Polearms)
    - Long Blades (Slashy polearms like scythes and halberds)
    - Ice Melee for Stalkers (Since I'm not sure how well just porting the tank version would work for their play style, might need nearly a new set)
    - Psi-weapons (A bit out there, but still)

    Blast:
    - Laser Rifle/gun (Like the Bots MM one)
    - Explosives and Heavy Ordinance (might be hard to justify why an explosive is an ST though)
    - Heavy Machine Gun (Because Assault rifle is terrible for when you just want a full auto rifle)
    - Sniper rifle (Because assault rifle is even worse for snipers. though opposite of Explosives, it will be hard to make this rifle be more than ST)
    - Elemental Blast (As in multiple elements, though it's not likely either)

    Control/mez:
    - Dark Control
    - Munitions Control
    - Radiation/Energy/light control (another stretch)

    Buff/debuff:
    - Tactical Strategy (Needs a tier nine called "Tactical Genius" that forces all enemies to shout "CREEEEEED!!!!!")
    - Nature set (sort of DE inspired)

    Assault (Though technically proliferations):
    - Dark Assault
    - Radiation Assault

    Henchmen:
    - Battle Servants
    - Magicians/elementals (unlikely)
    - Disembodied Weapons (... what?)
    - Animals (Stretching the limits of the tech severely)

    Armors:
    - Beastial Instincts (Probably something like a cross between /nin and shield)
    - Plant Armor
    - Storm Armor
    (Admittedly, those also push it)
    - Cybernetic/power body armor

    .
i'll /sign this. Mostly because I grabbed Interface and am going core path on my katana/scrapper (not that it matters much in the long run since my self-imposed challenge is to get a tier four on all Interface and branches), who is in desperate need of lowering the resistances of enemies he fights given how stupidly common and highly resisted lethal is. (Though, maybe I can't say too much since he does also have achilles heel procs, which if I understand right, are technically irresistable in their debuff because it works on a grant-power. Right?)
  22. Scirocco might work well with Vigilantes, you know, if he was honest about what his goal was to said vigilante from the beginning.
Unfortunately that would alter the whole nature of the finale of his second arc.

I think this was because without it being common, the sets mentioned would be too strong from the view point of the devs.
Let's nevermind that by the time we begin encountering Psy damage in the case of Praetorian and CoV is before all but Willpower actually can resist it, and the mentioned sets also are far from powerful in any sense of the word. (Coralax bosses, Fortunata, and Seers)

It's the straw that broke the camel's back, probably. I mean sure, he could complain about the Incarnate storyline, how the Devs attempt at making Praetoria morally grey fell flat on its face because they were wedlocked to issue 1 story writing, but in the end, these things are elements entirely within the game, and thus entirely with the lore writers.
But messing with Classical literature? That appears to have crossed the line.
