More Temporary Powers
Please no.
There is already too much garbage on the reward tables for recipe drops.
You got a hand grenade, congratz, you're a mage. What are you going to do with that?
Oh I'm a Blaster and I got Gabriel's Hammer, great.
A....revolver? I have super powers, no thanks.
A baseball bat? Seriously?
etc. etc. etc.
Sure, I use an occasional temp power recipe where it's in theme with the character. Many of my characters try to keep Recovery Serum, Envenomed Dagger, and maybe one or 2 of the other temps handy. But that's not a chore, they drop like rain during a monsoon.
Most of that, frankly along with most of the other drops in game is vendor trash.
I'll gladly send you just about 100 of any temp power you'd like. Just don't put more of them in the reward tables.
Check out the Repeat Offenders network of SGs! You'll be glad you did.
Adding more temp powers wouldn't change how often they drop, would it? I assumed they were on their own drop schedule.
/signed, if only so that I don't have to constantly delete 3 hand grenade recipes after every mission and might be convinced to craft something more interesting/useful.

You have a Rambo-type character. You want to, thematically, be able to use heavy weapons, but the best you can get for a power set is Assault Rifle, which wouldn't satisfy as much as, say, a chain gun or rocket launcher (like what 5th Column and Destroyers use).
Or maybe your character is meant to be both a skilled martial artist and swordfighter, but you can only pick one of those as a powerset. On the other hand, if you picked up Martial Arts and used a temporary katana you could change that.
Or, maybe your character is a streetwise street fighter and you want to be able to use a whole lot of different weapons to reflect your character's "anything I can get my hands on" mentality. Baseball bats, sledgehammers, rocks and throwing knives are perfect for that.
My only real beef with the craftable temporary powers is that you can't stock up on charges, you have to wait until your power is fully depleted until you can craft another. Meanwhile, the recipe is taking up personal or auction inventory space.
another temp power recipes I'd like to see:
-Sub-Machine Gun (lets you use Burst with an SMG model)
-Assault Rifle (Heavy Burst)
-Portable Gatling Gun (special model of a gatling gun held AR style that uses Full Auto)

im in the group that overall hates the temp power recipes
yes they are on a different drop table, but that doesnt stop them from taking up 2/3 or more of your inventory space
i have to regularly delete 2-3+ temp power recipes every mish to keep my inventory from filling up
if anything i wish i could turn OFF temp power recipe drops since they are nothing but junk

They would be better If you could craft mutiple charges of them. So if craft multiple of the same power, you get more and more uses of said power. Right now you can only craft one copy of the temp power till you use it up.
Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

One man's garbage is another man's treasure. You're arguing from a thematic perspective, so let me make some counterarguments: You have a Rambo-type character. The Invention System in Issue 9 had a few temporary recipes, they were useful for filling out attack chains, getting enemy data, or ghosting some missions. In Issue 17, many more recipes were added with more variety in use. Something that I would like to see some time in the future would more invention temporary powers.
For my main toons, I collect temporary powers like others collect badges. Fluffwise, it works for concepts like an artifact collector, a versatile inventor, or a guy with a gadget for every situation. Crunchwise, a lot of them are useful and help without being a crutch. However, some different temporary powers could be added, for variety and concepts.
Some examples of future temporary powers I would like to see...
-sniper rifle
-caltrops (unlikely due to balance reasons)
-pet summons from different enemy groups
-wand that casts Force Bolt
-mace (basically a reskin of the Gabriel's Hammer)
Granted, I am not sure how hard it is to code and make these. Definitely easier than a new powerset since old animations and graphics can be used, and balance will not be a huge concern. So, viable suggestion? What temporary powers would you like to see in the future?
