Yep, those prices really aren't expensive at all, if anything their very reasonable considering the usual costs of commissioning an artist. Worth every penny too, looking at the results.

Yep, but bear in mind they're a plugin with limitations to exactly what effects can be produced. Anything you can create in either of them can be exceeded by leaps and bounds if you're using something like Photoshop and take a little time with it, it's good if you're not that versed with the software or don't want to spend too much time on an effect but I personally wouldn't touch them as it's easy enough to do the same thing in two minutes with Photoshop's built-in functions.

What do you use for post-production, Fire?

Just as bad, knew it was one of the two.
What are you running it in? Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro? Something else? If it's Photoshop you create much more realistic metallic surfaces without any plugin at all, it's always worth putting the time in to read a few tutorials on doing it without, saves a lot of time and produces far better results.

June - Swissy, for his sketch on Sayia's "Can someone draw this?"

Very good use of lighting and shadow and he sketched it all in fineliner which gives it good definition. I'd rather nominate someone who actually picked up a pen and drew something than any fanfiction as I think they've had enough Creative Genius awards over the last few periods it was being run to justify some variety. I also didn't think giving it to someone for a Windows Paint 1 minute doodle was very fair given the level of quality in some of the artwork here, it's a slap in the face to them. Nominating yourself is pretty shameful too IMO.

Sounds like a pretty unique and fun idea, if I can make it I will do.

The blue lineart, Omega... that's one of those special sketching pencils that was meant to not show up on photocopies or some such? I've been toying with the idea of getting one to avoid smudged messes when sketching but would really like to know what the real benefit to them is, could you enlighten me?

Bump, I don't check the creative forum very often either of late, no disrespect meant to anyone who posts it but I've never been keen on fan-fiction writing; I much prefer seeing peoples' artwork and it definitely seems to be the lesser occuring of the two. That painting is damn good though, very nice work indeed.
