hey, I gave a you a solution, you choose not to use it.

Face it, many folks preferred heroside and went there. Keep in mind many villains also went rogue.

Also it has been shown repeatedly that the mission is soloable. Go read the threads showing how or wait till later in the day when more folks are on.

    This much is true.

I can count the number of times I've rolled for salvage and that's only to CRAFT recipes.

So have I, but I've also found some DEV approved front page arcs that are shinned up turds, that leave me wondering how they EVER got that award.

    People have differing tastes.

As to the exploit, it'll be patched when Issue 19 patches.

People can simple avoid the spam by not visiting atlas. Why ANYONE ever would want to visit atlas boggles my mind, seeing as how you can go to galaxy or start as a Preatorian.

Everyone just calm down and have fun until Issue 19 comes out.

People take this game waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously.

Outside of the ephemeral treatment of the boards' EULA, I know the game EULA and would be happy to banhammer any of these sewer dwellers.
Funny enough I've never seen either of this spam.

But seeing as how I don't do any gaming in Atlas EVER, it's not surprising.

See now, I can see THAT being a ZONE event in one or two zones that they use with their new zone event tech.

Even better as it doesn't knock out mobs needed for hunts, for a large amount of time.

The part I bolded however, probably wouldn't be easy to create and have it look good.

Soooooo, we are back to the "use of developer time issue".

Maybe it would've caused trouble with low-end systems, but the Devs have proven themselves equal to tricky technical tasks like UltraMode and power customization. I have faith in their abilities to figure out a way around the worst aspects of adding weather.

War Witch may not like weather because there's no "gameplay value" -- whatever that means -- but fun is fun, and "fun" is more than reason enough to add something to a game. I don't know how many hours I've spent simply doing things like sliding on ice, whether it be during the Winter Event or in Frostfire's lair. Sometimes silly things are fun to do. Remember when all the ponds froze over during the first Winter Lord attack? Man, those were some good times.
I think we can all agree that minimal effects like that would be fun. But a total weather system for most of the zones in the game . . . no.

Not until they finish up the large wish list of customization (for pcs and the older zones) on their plate. I see weather on the same priority as drivable cars/vehicles.

Of course if they want to stick it into a booster pack for those that want it and would like to directly pay for its development, that's an option.

    *runs*

    Don't hurt me.

Now I am not computer expert, but if this is the case, what happens to every Dom/Kheld toon on the live servers once this patch goes out to Live? We may suddenly not be able to "fix" ANY of those toons and would have to instead remake them. I can only imagine the problems this would cause with the player base. I don't think there would be a lot of people that quit the game over it, but there would be some, as well as a lot of ill will toward the company in general. In all better to wait and get the fix in place BEFORE it goes live.
    This, again!

In limited areas, sure, THIS I could agree with. But again, if it's too much effort, I'd rather they moved it to dead last on their priorities list.

True. However, ultra mode effects EVERY SINGLE visual aspect of the game.

Weather would be a very limited enhancement, unless we are saying that every zone in the game would have a weather effect going 24/7.

    Which would be just retarded.

With the age of this engine?

I don't' agree that just about everything that can't be done well in other games can be done well here. And that opinion has nothing to do with the ability of this dev team, but more with the archaicness of this engine.

Could it be done well if the devs dug deep and hacked the hell out of this game's engine? Sure. But is it worth the effort?

For example, they took the time to get the Demon MM flame whip looking sharp while STILL being customizable. I don't' remember who said it but it was mentioned that the effort to get that working was ENORMOUS. I don't doubt that that was because of this aging engine.

However, I'm fine with them taking the time to do that cause it paid off in terms of game play, as it gave the game a type of MM that was VERY unique.

Now would weather effects give the same kind of bump? I'm of the opinion, no.

So then the question becomes is it worth the effort? I think you know where I'd lean on the answer to that.

    THIS!

And when they do get around to weather in 2043, I'd vote that it has ZERO gameplay effect. No I do not give a flying &*#! if it makes my ice powers work better or not. I'm against game play bonuses we have no control over. ESPECIALLY the idea that my fire powers on other toons would be weakend if it rained. Thought I read that somewhere up above. I'll keep my opinion on THAT to myself as it would get me banned.

    Thanks.

    TL;DR; Weather=a solid gold MEH!

I mainly PvP so don't tell me about buggy content, I can handle a month of bugs. 2 years and ignoring the fact that the content is buggy can be rather irksome yes. Now if the buggy content for i19 was known and never fixed within 2 years then yeah I could see your point.

Domination unable to be used by non-villain doms and kheldians being unable to respec is not showstopping. The way that PvP is is showstopping but that didn't stop them from pushing it through.
Good to know. Glad you're not in charge.

Somehow I don't think kheld nor dominator players would appreciate their toons being broken for that long.

I have a hunch that would cause just a little uproar.

    And LOLpvp.

New players that have joined at launch would also have learned to expect by now that fitness was a mandatory pool power to take. Things change, just not when they "should" have, the change keeps getting postponed and reduced.

    Here's to lowering expectations everyday!

and yes I deleted your faces!
So releasing buggy content that breaks two ATs is raising expectations?

The forums make less sense each day.

Bottom line: they made a GOOD decision to delay if they couldn't fix the issue.
  20. Good decision. Sad, but understandable.

Have a happy thanksgiving WarWitch and all.

    Pretty much this.

I'm of the mind we don't need more slots, but I would not be surprised (or angry) if one day they did give them to us.

Seeing as how marketing would probably string her up by her coat tails if she revealed any new features they are working on for future issues, that interview surprised anyone.?

    Really?

Have you not been paying attention to the marketing style of NCSoft/PS?

They sure as hell would not reveal anything in an interview till it's good and near ready to be put into closed beta.

EDIT: Some of the people on these forums are acting like this is their first time reading or posting on these forums. Sheesh.
  23. /shrug.

I don't see my characters as heros or villains.

they are just characters playing in a game world.

If I had the choice for ALL of my toons to be able to go to any zone or do any content in the game, I'd take it.

Errrr, how could heroes and villain not have been split up? COV came quite a bit after coh came out.

Other games also have international editions, and have different factions that are "split up".

Not seeing anything odd at all here.

It took me more than a year to get enough merits to make a single roll for a rare recipe. I didn't get anything good but I sold it for 500,000, so that was okay, I guess. Not much of an incentive to keep joining GM teams and earn those 2 merits at a time, of course, so I figure that stuff is just pointless to do, but I tried it.)
If it's really taking you THAT long I wouldn't even bother with Inventions, let alone purples and Incarnates.

Just pretend that the Incarnate system doesn't exist. You will save yourself a lot of unnecessary stress.
