This gets around the issues with the "give us vehicles NAO" issue.
They could release multiple vehicle models in the future. -
Quote:I have no idea why some folks like GG think the game is. It NEVER has.It was a "problem" as soon as they introduced the 'new' penny, because you could still rescue the adolescent version of her in the Lady Grey TF, 5 levels later than when you can first meet the adult her.
But then that's if you treat each event chronologically by level. Which the game clearly isn't trying to keep strict. -
Quote:Soooo sometimes in 2022? Cause the way things are going I think the money train will be going for a while.Don't forget the other shifts in the industry. Back when hybrid models of subscription weren't seen as positively, the 'cold-war' era of superhero games where we actually had competitors to worry about and so on. Priorities may have been different then.
Although I still don't think current development is all roses and sunshine. There's still bugs (probably more now), imbalances and inconsistencies that don't seem to be on the schedule to be revised. To me, it seems like the company is riding the money train to pump out as much as possible until it inevitably slows to a trickle...then they'll downsize and have the smaller team largely focus on fixing the girth of content from previously. -

Quote:Pretty much this. Anyone still saying that the store was a bad idea doesn't have leg to stand on. This is JUST April and it looks like we are going to be getting A LOT more sets than in any other YEAR of the game's existence.See, I was much more excited by Rad armor than anyting else presented. I also realized that Rad Armor would end up being 2 new sets for Melee AT, because Rad Melee would be quick to follow. It clear that the gears were turning for Synapse on Rad Melee while he was discussing Rad Armor.
The devs also said just because we didn't pick yours for this part of the summit, does not meant it will not get made. So it is possible (even probable) that we will see a thrown weapons set.
That is the great thing about the store. It has allowed for the creation of more power sets than we have seen in the last 3 or 4 years. Yeah, I will buy another $200 in cards if that gets me more cool power sets, that and I like the cards. It is fun to open them.
This last back had some stuff I have REALLY enjoyed. Costumes, ATIOs, Reward Merits, and Self/ally Rez powers are at the top of the list. My Staff/EA scrapper has ALL of his IOs at +5 and I still have well over 300 enhancement boosters. Face it, the super packs were a good value, and the only real grumble is that that stuff was random. Shoot, I still giggle like a little girl ever time I get a 75 merit and a 100 merit card in the same pack.
Bravo COH FREEDOM. -
Quote:Ehhhh, I don't know about that.Yeah, you say that now...
I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. When you think of core elements in other MMOs right now, PvP is a huge part. Quite a few MMOs have based their feature set around PvP and use it as a driving force for what sells their product. Neither of us are in a position to say whether or not it's a good business decision to go forward with it, but a total absence of meaningful PvP is branded as something that can sink a new MMO in this age. I'd say that's incentive enough to at least try to get it going.
For new mmos sure, but this isn't a new mmo. People coming to play this game the first time aren't coming to it for the riveting pvp.
We already know it's not a good business decision seeing as how a majority of the playerbase doesn't pvp.
With all that said they should do SOMETHING about pvp EVENTUALLY.
But pvp was not the point of this player summit. Anyone who's been paying attention since it's been announced should know that. This event was NOT about big reveals that players didn't know about. PVP if they were doing anything about it would fall under that. So not surprising that the folks who asked about it got the response they did.
Also not surprising about the lolpvp. -
Another invasion . . . yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnn!!!
They should be sent packing shortly. -
Quote:/shrugI'm not saying he's anti-social or evil or something. I don't know the man in person. What I AM saying is I don't get the impression that he "loves" interacting with as much as the article's trying to depict.
Hell, I don't love interacting with people.
Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. -
Quote:Sam, not that I'm love with Matt or anything, but your last few lines do not make sense when next to each other.
That recent address that was posted in his name had me laughing and rolling my eyes at the line where Matt Miller enjoys interacting with people. This is the guy who does not accept PMs and the guy whose forum posts are usually a sentence long, whenever they even exist. Yeah, I know he meant at Pummits and the like, but still.
If the man didn't love interacting with people the best way to do that is to AVOID the Pummits and conventions and tradeshows, and stay posting like a robot on the forums or his blog.
I think you're off in this argument this time. -
There should be long term incentives to stay subscribed.
/unsigned.
Anyone who wants them can PAY FOR THEM NOW.
That's the whole point. -
Because Fortunatas/Night Widows are better.

Quote:You've been to Pocket D once or twice, haven't you?I'm not by any means a roleplayer when it comes to MMO's, however I'm a bit curious as to how the random roleplayer using the local chat (never personally seen them use broadcast on Virtue) is any more disturbing than the countless "LFG DFB"s would be to them.
In other words; we choose not to segregate our Community based on play style and I (personally) feel we're the better for it. Understanding, and being exposed to, different ways of enjoying the game should be considered an opportunity, not a hinderance. And if something is really annoying you, ignore is just a right click away.
P.S. I am not encouraging you to participate in any...inappropriate...behavior around others. -
If you mean revamp, giving more zones reasons to actually go there (see missions, tfs, etc) then I think boomtown and the shadow shard are prime candidates. I don't mind the revamps being made co-op.

Quote:You the man.Hello everyone!
I appreciate the feedback youve all been given here and on the beta forums. Ive just made the following changes:
1) Statesmans Pal will remain Statesmans Pal and will be given out when completing A Heros Hero, the original Maria Jenkins arc, in flashback
2) Positrons Pal will be given out when completing, A Heros Epic, the new Maria Jenkins arc
3) Sister Psyches Comrade will remain the same and be given out when completing Psyches task force in flashback once Issue 23 is launched.
4) Penelope Yins Friend will be rewarded when completing her new task force
5) The Task Force Commander badge will be rewarded by having either Penelope Yins Friend or Sister Psyches Comrade
Thanks again for all your feedback!
Dr. Aeon
Expected nothing less from you guys. -
Pretty much this.
EDIT: If I ever get interested in buying such things from the market, I'll wait 6 months to see if there are any adjustments to them first.
I don't trust that what you buy is what you get with those things now. -
Quote:I lol'd.Why would they have pulled it? So they could NOT make money off of word of mouth and our research? Do you think these are principled, honorable people? Just cause we were stupid enough to buy things we value doesn't mean we're entitled to said value or a refund when said value is invalidated
Just Sayin
That alone says all that needs to be said about how badly this situation was handled.
Hopefully they learn from this experience when introducing new things on the market. -
Quote:So it's confirmed that the original IS IN Ouroboros. Good to know. Nothing else needs to be said, you covered it.Actually, that's not exactly true. My main has done A Hero's Hero but has never actually yet done A Hero's Epic. I was awarded the badge for doing Hero's Hero, and that mission arc isn't being changed as far as I know: it still exists in Ouroboros.
There are badges you can only get in flashback: the exploration badges in the pre-Incarnate Dark Astoria for example. I don't see why Hero's Hero can't continue to award Statesman's Pal and the updated Hero's Epic can't award Positron's Pal separately (as was suggested earlier in the thread). And if that is the case, the devs could retroactively grandfather all players to keep Statesman's Pal and require a rerun of Hero's Epic to get Positron's Pal, so that you actually have to save Positron to get it.
EDIT: Also didn't realize that both arcs now have DIFFERENT NAMES. So yeah about that "it's being changed for everyone" thing---> LMAO! -
-
Quote:Calm down.I AM NOT SAYING THE CHANGE IS A GOOD THING! I have specifically said the EXACT EFFING OPPOSITE. ...speaking of people being obtuse, try looking in a ******* mirror. People are asking why it's being changed. I'm giving the likeliest reason. Where in the F people are getting that I'm somehow defending it is beyond me.
-
Quote:What I mean is there is nothing being changed in there that would compel to want to re-run that arc, on characters who already did it.I dunno. IDF is in so little non-trial content that it remains pretty interesting. I guess I23 AE will change that though. WOO IDF IN AE.
AKA meh IDF. -
Quote:Do. Not. Care. The mission is being changed. Period. "For my character who has already done it" is irrelevant. THE MISSION IS BEING CHANGED. FOR EVERYBODY. PERIOD. END OF EFFING STORY. Your character who has already done it does not get a special magical version of the game that is different from everyone else where the mission isn't being changed. On "in-character terms", what is being changed is irrelevant to the character who has already done it. But that doesn't mean that the coding changing the mission isn't happening.
As long as they keep the Statesman Badge for those who already have it, everything else is irrelevant.
And those characters already did the first story they are not going to go back and run that arc again. I don't even think they can based on the way contacts work. Unless they go to Oroborus, which they wouldn't. The arc is not that impressive. -
Quote:Not necessarily. One of the easiest things to do to help Khelds was making the shape shift ability faster. I have feeling that was NOT an easy programming change, nor lazy.Just because you've already done it doesn't mean the mission isn't being changed. That's just plain stupid logic right there.
I'm not saying taking the easy route was right. I do think making a fuss over it is silly, though.
"Easy route" and "lazy route" are usually synonymous, so that last line was pointless.
As to the first sentence, the mission has NOT changed for my characters who've ALREADY DONE IT. They are not being asked to rescue Posi, they've already rescued statesman. There is not reason to give them a new shiney medal for rescuing Posi, when the ******* didn't.
EDIT: To be clear they can give whatever the hell they want to anyone who now answers the "call" tor rescue Posi. I couldn't care less.
But for those who already rescued Statesman (previous answered the call), keep the badge as is. -
Quote:The missions hasn't changed if those who did the old one don't do the new one.The only explanation is they're taking the easy route: The mission has changed, thus the badge associated with it has changed. Rather than create and award a new badge for the revised version and "detaching" the old one from the mission so it remains unchanged, the badge is just getting its name changed in the database.
They've already done that mission.
I'd call it the lazy route, instead of the easy one. -
Quote:This. Whether we love or despise the character is irrelevant. What this does is set a VERY BAD precedent.Indeed.
Although I have zero love for Stateman and still don't see the logic in changing the badge. The reality for my characters who have it is they rescued Statesman- my opinion of the character is irrelevant, it's an act they performed, a badge they earned and ti shouldn't be messed with absent some sort of vitally compelling reason.
I haven't seen any reason at all given thus far, let alone a compelling one.
