  1. I remember when I was told that rep system was a good idea by a certain number of posters.

    *starts laughing at the irony*

I still stand by the fact that the old star system had to be eventually TURNED OFF as a reason for the mods to have never introduced the rep system in the first place.

/e sarcasm: Apparently it worked so well the first time, that the "fail" just had to be tried again.

  2. Fire/MM for me.

the /MM part especially since it's psi damage and seems to hit more often then the fire part, especially in pvp.

(yes I know psi is resisted in high end pve, but if you are facing something that has "tier 9'd up" and your fire damage is doing piddly damage, I often find that the psionic attacks seem to do the trick. rare situation but it happens.)
  3. 105% recharge here.

I put dom on auto so the only thing I need to worry about hitting is hasten, but often I find I don't even need to do that.

I could probably find room to bump it to 123%, but not interested as the build I have on my fire/psi is fine for farming.

If you remember, it was a marketing snafu that had the information sent out early.

If that had happened I don't think we would have heard about GR that early.

    What you are asking for:
    • The developers to add a new flag to the badge database for all badges that now and in the future count towards accolades. This has a chance to corrupt the badge database, and by extension the character databases.
    • The developers to spend time filling that new flag in the database.
    • Have the game store a copy while it is being re-rolled (aka deleted) and then add badges to the new character based on the stored character.
    • Make more work for the GMs when the transfer fails or has a glitch. Only after a certain point the deleted version of the character is gone, and now they have a customer whining that they lost badges.
    • This only gets worse when the original poster then includes souvenirs and temp powers.
In the end, I suspect that the original poster (and those that feel the same) are out of luck about this. The process is fraught with pitfalls and the standard code rant should be heeded in this case.
If it causes that many issues then yeah, do it without badges.

Also with all the other things mentioned above by the OP, recipe storage, merits, etc, etc. . . makes it more than likely that this will NEVER happen.

Allowing all that to transfer to a lvl 1 would INCREASE hoarding and REDUCE alting even further than that. Not going to happen.

My suggestion is at least doable and realistic if you don't include badges, as Snow mentioned.

Forgot to mention this is for the recipe.
  7. Gladiator's Net: Chance for Lethal Damage: Level 50 is up on the BM. for 400 mil. Get it while you can.

    It's the recipe.

Remember that there was an effort to adjust badges like empath and remove the farm incentives from AE badges? A reasonable developer realizes that incentivizing behavior like that is a bad idea in the long run.

Consider that not even a single negative response has related to the idea on its merits, only tons of claims that the devs love grinds, without support. The absurdity of the argument is that this would save far less time than, say, travel powers, and I don't see anybody clamoring to get rid of those.

Snow Globe did bring up potential technical difficulties, which is plausible. There may very well be technical reasons why having certain badges at certain levels might not work.

    Really?

By the way you recently went to the effort of posting your collection of BIG ORANGE TEXT NOS in another topic, I get the idea you enjoy saying it quite a lot.

That, if anything, would support the idea.

Solution A: They AFK farm with arena gladiators

Solution B: They reroll, and then reroll again to their previous combination, which likely leads them to play MORE since they leveled to 50 2 extra trips

I think this proves that it does, since this is quite different from the respec idea.

Intelligent and creative people like to find novel solutions. As a developer, I take a topic that gets lots of requests, but has an obstacle, as a challenge to find a solution. It's a necessary skill to programmers, scientists, and most who have discovered things throughout history, every one of whom was 'one of those people.'

That's actually why I bring it up, more so than wanting to use it. My primary motivation to use it would be addressed by global event badges, though it's possible another set could be introduced that might make me want to reroll mains.

Or I'm recognizing a point that serves as a distraction and reponding to it with no argument. Accolades are not what this is about. The idea doesn't require that accolades or inf be included with the reroll.

In essence, this is mostly about cosmetic features. Any potential exploits would not be part of it.

Only way I'd /sign this is if you start at LEVEL 1, with no inf, no higher than lvl 1 temp powers, no IOs, no recipes, no enhancements and no accolades. Only the badges that don't give accolades would you keep.

And it uses really cheap salvage.

i can't imagine an inspiration that would last longer than that (or be stackable to last an hour since most insp last about 60 secs or less--might be a bit longer for the longest tier of insp but certainly not one hour) so a recharge insp would be pointless unless you carry nothing but them.

I think we are about due for one though! *hint hint nudge nudge know what I mean know what I mean*

Am I dreaming or was the last one a full week? That helped a lot to make sure everyone got some double-xp goodness.
I believe the last one was from like Thursday until Sunday before 12am.

But I'm getting older and my memory isn't what it used to be.
  12. Not too expensive a build either!

After my corr and mm, I might roll another dom.

Ummm, isn't closed beta by invite?

I think the issue is the folks playing on test are probably doing so to find bugs.

Those people may not be actually interested in playing it for fun, but to help out in beta.

Yes, this is exactly why that setting should be removed. It's too easy to do that.

As for testing with something with high defense....if by defense you mean "not getting hit"....HAHAHAHAHAHA. Aim and Build Up on Hard pretty much negates that kind of defense. If you mean defensive powersets in general, some of these custom BOSSES hit harder and faster and more often than dev-created Archvillains. I only wish I were kidding.
You hit the nail on the head for one of my pet peeves with AE.

I TRIED giving it ANOTHER (despite my continued disgust with how the last UNTESTED AE patch was rushed to live without giving authors a chance to vet it) fair shake the other day, and went on searching for something to play, ACTIVELY AVOIDING anything that listed "Archvillan, Extreme" and "Ally" (forget what the exact wording is), etc., for obvious reasons.

I tired 2-3 and quit before the first mission was over due to a combination of asinine story and lackluster rewards.

Then after spending 20-30 minutes doing a similar search and seeing constant mentions about Extreme Bosses and Archivllains, I gave up and went back to regular newspaper missions.

I'll check back on AE in issue 25 or so when the systems, missions, search engine, and rating system are all actually usable.

EDIT: I've played just about all the highly rated stuff mentioned on the forums. IMO, 1/2 didn't deserve the ratings they got. With that being true for less of the Dev's Choice stuff.

And none of it is compelling enough to repeat. Again.

    New MA Layout

That's . . . actually what I thought the search system of AE actually would be like when they first announced MA.

/signed so hard the pen broke!

  16. Great discussion!

Camp us very much still a part of comics.

Ex: Deadpool's actions and dialog, She Hulk's breaking the 4th wall.

There is also a very serious side to comics: Darkest Night, Civil War, All the 13233243th Crisis of Infinite stuff (), etc.

    There's room for both.

There's also room for both in this game. Also I agree with those that say Villainous success DOES NOT have to mean taking over the Isles/Arachnos.

I too also tire of Arachnos. Longbow for that matter.

EDIT: Also want to mention that too much camp can dip into the area of "aweful" writing sometimes too. Foxbat in that OTHER game to me was bad camp. I didn't find him funny or amusing at all. Just annoying as hell.

  19. Found the necessary guides! Thanks all!
  20. Hi all,

I'm trying to build a personal base just for storage:

inspiration, salvage, and recipes (or enhancements, whichever of the two can be stored).

I'm a NEWB to base construction.

Are there any basic guides to just creating a small personal base for storage.

I have 2 mil prestige. (Just so folks know what I'm working with).

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Aura.
  21. NO.

I LIKE my hibernate the way it is.

The fact that MANY folks like it the way it is, is enough of a reason that it won't be changed.

I couldn't give a damn about an apology.

As long as they fixed the bug, which they did, that's all that matters.

Your view is soundly in the minority if you asked those in the market forum.

As an aside, that zone would be perfect for a WarWtich tf

Damn, I almost want to go Vigilante just for Croatoa. Are you serious? I don't go much on the forums, but are there actually people who say there aren't inflated rewards blueside? With everyone I've played with in-game, it's been taken for granted as a completely uncontroversial fact that blueside rewards are inflated. Are we all just imagining that, for instance, there are a lot more merit rewards to be had on a TF than a SF, because we're all so silly? I'm a little thrown out of whack by that claim, like someone just told me Earth rotates around Mars and it's silly to say otherwise or something.
Actually many folks argue that the increased running around, decript, old zones and tfs (despite posi just being FIXED this issue), numerous EMPTY hazard zones are detriments to blue side.

Also the merit reward issue has already been explained by others.

I'd rather have faster, streamlined content, that doesn't have me running between zones and doing kill all after silly kill all (lears at some of the older tfs) AND gives less merit rewards than some of the dreck that exists blueside.

And even with that said many of my toons are going blue. Why? Cause of the market and how long it takes to buy ANYTHING redside.

I too want to go Rogue for Croatoa and Striga. (Vigilante is a hero going bad.)

Here are (some) why there are more people playing blueside:
    1. some people want to play heroes and do not want to play villains
    2. some people didn't like red side content including the early zones' appearances so they won't play red
    3. some people gave up on red because they didn't like Arachnos and Longbow everywhere
    4. some people gave up on red because they didn't like Patron powers vs Epic Pools heroside
    5. some people abandoned red for blue when the markets came along and red lagged early on
    6. (probably one of the main reasons) some people playing blue already didn't want to go red because their friends weren't.
Personally if we're talking about advantages I'd argue that Crotoa ain't all that. The only impressive things in there to me are the GMs and a FEW of the mob types.
