  1. ...Does this mean the listed buffers can now buff themselves when they do the group buff?
  2. Chiming in to say I can't help....:P

I quit playing my DP/Kin in frustration after getting deaded too many times in a level 20 mission against two Midnighters. Gravity trollers are mean.

Understandable. Five minutes loading time is pretty nuts.

But that maze base is AWESOME. I wouldn't think of it as a working base, though. You just need a more focused SG.

The old NA servers do feel more populated and it’s felt like old times running around seeing other heroes flying or superspeeding past me. I’ve already met a few nice people and being blind invited to a SG brought a flash of nostalgia I’ve not felt for a long time (I declined).

I’ve also noticed a few new people turning up on global channels although I do think the several hour time difference is noticeable. There’s been ups and downs and a few very raw moments but on the whole people have been pleasant and it feels like a global community at last. I have however had to strip the Help channel out of my tabs now due to a constant stream of chatter that we never had before the merge. It’s nice that people are talking but it feels like the wrong channel for it.

On the downside, I have almost become a hermit from global channels now. Since the rename I have come to loathe and detest seeing my global, its corrupted form serving as a bitter reminder of how EU loyalty is rewarded. Call it a poor choice when I did my rename if you like but that name that comes up whenever I speak is not mine. I hate it with a passion and would do virtually anything to change it again.

If it wasn’t for the global issue, I’d be in seventh heaven. Instead, it feels more like Eighth Circle.
Still bitter about the NA that got tagged on my forum name, myself...

Have you considered negotiating with the holder of the name you want? I'd consider renaming for a set of purples or PVP set.
  5. Is that the Blue Knight getting pwned?
  6. Just because a channel is private and you need permission to post, doesn't mean they don't want you. Sometimes that's where all the conversation is at.

Even if you don't want to post on the forums, go to the Player Help section and read the Player Guides. Although a lot are out of date, they can give you background on how to play, make money/influence, etc.

Paragonwiki.com is more detailed than Wikia.

Choose your server based on your playstyle and people you want to interact with. Low pop = low lag, lots of soloing. High = high lag, more teaming, more drama.

When making a costume, try the random button a while to give you an idea of what is possible.

Architect Entertainment has some wonderful story arcs, entirely player generated. Many of them, however, are based on in-game content, so are more fun if you have played the regular content.

I'm not sure how the people who stayed in Atlas put up with it. o_0
Purely by coincidence, I've only been fighting redside. Could be less people?

In the case of Virtue, there were just lots and lots and lots of Neurons, followed by him using his "resurrection serum" on the IDF, at which point a Zombie invasion triggered.
Oh man! That sounds like fun. Haven't seen anything like that yet. Mostly people reporting GMs dancing and a lot of banter..

We don't have to exemp. Group with a lowbie, select his mission. Timing ITFs as Incarnates makes as much sense as seeing how much time it takes a 50 to do Frostfire.

:P We were pwning Romulus so hard last time we had him twirling in the air. Unfortunately, somehow that separated him from his Nictus so he didn't rez. Then we had to kill each Nictus individually. It was actually harder than a normal ITF. >

If it's challenge you want, try the AE. I know people who have deliberately made missions broken hard, so they can make unwinnable challenges. Missions I've never got past the second room. Start a thread stating your difficulties, team makeup, the arc name and how long it took.

This game has always been set as level 50 retirement. Incarnates brought me back to the game and made me far more interested in playing my 50 and getting my alts to 50. But I'm really enjoying playing my lowbies right now. If you quit this game because there isn't enough to do at level 50 NOW, you can't have really ever enjoyed the game.

    I lol'ed.

I didn't see the grayed out power effect on the invasions I've been on. Either I was fine or Neuron one-shotted me. Are we sure this is an actual power or a bug like has been happening on trials?

The GMs also seemed a touch weak to me, for giant monsters. You were generally okay with a tank and a buff. The main times we seem to have trouble are when there are too many targets and no coordination. (I just recalled though, at one point on one of them, Beastyle announced that the GMs had been suddenly weakened.)

A latecomer who didn't know about the invasion commented on Triumph that this was the first time he'd ever had lag on that server. On Guardian, it didn't seem to compare with an average Rikti raid.

    It was a complete success.

Why? Because the vast majority on the raid were Incarnates, and those with Barrier and Clarion kept them up throughout the raid.

Now that it is confirmed that bubblers are pretty much useless even on Rikti mothership raids, I'm just going to move that character over to my "graveyard" server where I put all of my retired characters, and make a new Celestial Lord. :\
Btw, Brutes are pretty much useless, except as substitute scrappers.

Yeah, was thinking of the epic tantrum someone threw when somebody asked about server merging. Blah, blah, we've already discussed it, nothing you think about it could be important NOW, but here's a synopsis of the arguments pro and con, so you don't have to necropost.

I personally don't care what you call a pack. I'm gonna do whatever I want with the options given, so more options is always good.

The steampunk pack already has a trailer btw. *dances a happy jig*

Too much retcon? Statesman. That his retcon paved the way for all the annoying threads on incarnates and trials stuffed into every freaking forum makes it worse.
Am I the only one who finds Statesman and every iteration of him utterly boring? And I don't buy him as the Superman figure he so often seems to be portrayed as.

You don't even have to believe me, just go to Amazon and look at books specializing in that era. Blaming that look on Hollywood is spurious at best. Anyone who takes a History of Photography class is immediately disabused of the notion that color clothing is a recent invention. Or a tour of a museum. Look at the extraordinary range of colors of common fashion from the Civil War. It wasn't just fancy gowns worn by Southern belles, and our perceptions aren't colored by Gone With the Wind; the opposite, in fact, is what happened.

You may not think it's hyperbole, but it's certainly an inaccurate impression of that time. Victorian era people looked like peacocks half the time.

In some areas poor people didn't wear much color because dyed clothing was too expensive, but even then most everyone owned *some* colored outfits, and the upper class definitely did. Just look at old color photos and you can see that color is everywhere, from England to America to Russia to Japan. But visit NYC in the winter and it seems like 95% of everyone wears black.
Same thing happens to ancient Greeks. All the statues and buildings paint wore off, so nothing but white marble remained. But the Greeks tended to bright, gaudy colors.

What? Eps 1-3 weren't Vader. They were Anakin. 4-6 was a different person, as different as teenagers and old guys usually are. When Luke took Vader's helmet off, I was deeply disappointed at the sight. That guy looked like a couch potato dad. If I were more articulate, I'd say something about how Obiwan was right, Vader was more machine than Anakin.

Oh, and thank you for all the interesting articles. I disagreed with almost ALL of them! That guy writing about military and government service especially, displayed an almost complete ignorance of actual government services. And the military attitude toward them.

It is interesting that it's the hippies who mostly don't get the movie Starship Troopers. I suspect its because they resist the ideas so strongly, they can't relax and laugh at it. (And the nerds with nerd-rage, of course.) No one with militaristic beliefs actually takes it seriously. The love story was pretty irritating, though.

The article by that man, Perich, was superb, though. Very interesting. And although I knew the line--"I'd buy that for a dollar"--was stolen, I didn't realize it was an attempt to emulate the society of The Marching Morons in Robocop. I read that story from my cherished copy of Asimov's 100 Greatest Short SciFi stories...everything in that book is wondrous...

Now I have my own nerd-rage because neither Robocop nor Idiocracy went all the way that Marching Morons did and commit (genocide? intellectocide?) mass murder on the population. That's the way it was in the book!

And nobody takes the Greyhawk Ruins lightly. Zagyg would eat your brain.

  20. Books are more fun, and pretty, and better ways to read things.

E-books, though regular ones are expensive, are convenient. I have a garage full of books I can't unpack because my new house the military sent me to is too small for all my stuff. I have a computer that has a ton of free books downloaded that I read on PDF..some of which I own in hardcopy but don't have easy access to. My android isn't that great at all the stuff it does (they never mention how often it stalls when surfing or watching youtube) but its very convenient for unexpected downtime. I've been working my way through Sense and Sensibility while waiting for car repairs..Only bad thing is that it uses up battery power faster than I'd like.

I'm not sure what the point is in criticizing formats that other people use. Or their musical taste. Or how they spend vacations.

And yes, i realize the Trials become so much easier when the team is outfitted with more and more of their incarnate abilities at higher levels.

But they're obviously beatable without them, and now that others have them, you can team up with those who are outfitted with them.
Having to do them every day is grinding. I work 40 hours a week, and have to take care of my family in my free time. This plan is not casual friendly.

And thinking you can control economics so easily is a fool's game.

Is the 400million to high? Probably. But that's for the tier 4, and people can get by with just the tier 3 just fine (hell they can get by with less, but I think you get the point).

We needed influence sinks so it wasn't just traded around. We got influnece sinks, and except for that one, the influence sinks really aren't that big.
    WHO asked for that?

People with so much inf they set prices in the AH however they want so everyone else has to gather all the inf their alts have together to afford something.

If you want less inf STOP PLAYING THE AUCTION HOUSE. Don't try to penalize everyone else, just because of your obsession.
