This was at 3 different ones, which is why I have given up on the chain as a whole.
  2. I used to love Pizza Hut, but the past several times I have tried it I have had:

    - 2 1/2 wait for delivery
    - uncooked pizza (crust was cold and damp)
    - uncooked cinnamon sticks
    - a large pizza with the crust about 2 1/2 inches wide all the way around (presumably to save money on the toppings, which covered just a small area in the centre).

I will NEVER give them my money again, no matter whet new product they come up with.

    1. Whedon may not be the one to direct the sequel, even if he is contracted already for it things can change.

    2. The studio could well have demanded the character reported to be shown in the credits be in the credits whether Whedon wanted it or not. Remember it was studio people that crammed Venom down Sam Rami's throat for Spiderman 3......
    True enough.

I still hope that the alleged death is either a deceit to have the team up, or somehow undone by the film's end.
  4. Yeah, so I'll say

    "SPOILERS"

even though that should be obvious.

It all sounds good, except that Whedon is going his predictable route and killing off a popular character. Months ago, there was a thread here where someone said "It would be just like him to kill off (this character), because fans like (this character)."

I didn't read the entire thing word-for-word, so perhaps there is a comic book resurrection in there, but I didn't see it. This alone is enough to really turn me off the movie, because it is entirely unnecessary and totally predictable.

Edit to add: The after-credits scene really doesn't go with Whedon's stated desire to make a sequel "smaller scale, more intimate and personal".

    Fixed.

I love Depp and Burton, but hate them for what they are doing to Dark Shadows. It's not likely that many people will ever check out the original now after seeing the new version. Pity.
  6. I wouldn't mind having her KISS outfit in the game... Lol

  8. I never really read the comic and knew Iron Man mostly through crossovers, but I did read Extremis, which was ok. I hate retcons, but if I ever had the chance to write the comic, the whole armour-stored-in-his-bones thing would be gone by the first page of the first issue I wrote. I hope they don't stick that it the movie.
  9. I could almost cry over this... I would have made this a regular destination for sure.
  10. Hello all.

Recently, I bought a new computer (yay!) After several years of using my laptop, I was able to put aside enough money for a decent gaming computer. I was thrilled that it let me max out everything and still run super smooth. My only problem is that the game has become quite dark now.

Playing on my laptop, everything is bright and colourful. On my new system, it is much darker (which looks more realistic, but makes some things hard to see...) and I get weird effects like characters with black capes having something of a black aura around the cape until I get within a certain range. I am wondering what it might be. I don't know what specifically controls the darkness. It is not related to shadows, as I have played with that to no effect.

    Any ideas?

I'll have to look for it, but Chris Hemsworth commented in one interview that I saw that "you couldn't call it an Avengers movie if there wasn't a Thor- Hulk confrontation."
  12. Why is Thor a "demi-god"? Is it the usual we-can't-call-him-a-real-deity-without-offending-people excuse?
  13. I am expecting issue 25 to be a Double~sized extravaganza, featuring the return of Statesman in a new, black costume and with a darker attitude.
  14. I'm just glad that they never made the rumoured remake of The Six Million Dollar man starring Jim Carrey, which was, again, going to be a comedy. I figured that they would probably play with the fact that 6 million is a comparatively small amount of money today and have the "comedy" focus around Steve's bionics being bargain-basement stuff that frequently malfunctions, leading to all sorts of hilarity...
  15. I almost threw up when I saw this. I had been looking forward to this, completely unaware that it was being made into a "comedy". Fortunately or unfortunately, DS is old enough that a lot of people will have no idea that it wasn't a comedy to begin with.

Too bad. Barnabas was an awesome character. His change from evil vampire to the guardian of the family probably made him the first "good" vampire-- or at least as far as I know. My forum name comes from a character in a Vampire the Masquerade character heavily inspired by Barnabas Collins.

When people ask my why this bothers me so much, I ask them if they like the Hunger Games. if they say "yes", I tell them to imagine it being remade 30 years from now as a slapstick comedy.

If any of you have old shows that you loved, go rewatch them now and enjoy them before Hollywood decides to "modernize" them.

My friends and I made a game out of this, trying to see if we could remake shows we used to watch. My entry was a modernized M*A*S*H. Set in modern times during the new Korean War (against a zombie Kim Jong-Il), it focuses on a group of doctors acting crazy to avoid going crazy for real as they deal with the horrors of war. The twist is that all the characters are teenagers, forced to fight in the war by the adults in the government (inspired by Hunger Games, to draw that crowd in). It is narrated by "Hotlips" Hoolihan, who is torn between her love for Frank, a shapeshifter weasel and Hawkeye, an Incubus (vampires are passé). It feature intense drama and comedy and will be a blockbuster hit.

I also claim credit for the press conference. I mentioned a couple of months back in a thread about being heroic that we never got to speak to the press ad do press conferences. Whether it is true or not, I am choosing to believe a dev saw that and ran with it.

  20. Ok, please bear with me for being a noob, but I really am not a technically-minded person.

I just bought a new PC-- this one

I have had great success with it so far, compared to my older computers, but I have seen one issue. The Black Wolf pet that comes through the Superpacks is not black for me. When summoned, it is pure white and featureless. I am assuming that I need to update my drivers, but am not sure exactly what to take. If anyone could point me in the right direction (IE a link), I would be very grateful.

Actually, the card seems to be MSi, which I am not familiar with at all...

    Driver question

Hi all. Hoping a techie-type can help out.

Just got a new comp (this one), which is great, but I seem to have a slight driver issue. I noticed it mainly on the wolf power (from the Superpacks... Black Wolf?). Instead of being black, he was a pure, featureless white. I had heard that there might be a driver issue and thought I might check here to see if anyone could confirm this. I was warned of "AMD driver roulette" and it was suggested that someone here might be able to point out something that works well.

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I like weird things, but I'd prefer it if we covered our basics first.

A developer in a post somewhere explained this was designed for the "more natural" characters, but I honestly don't see it. I'd honestly have expected to see a "physical Judgement" power before anything else, and by "physical" I mean one that doesn't require the use of weird energies, teleportation or magic. A ground punch, a foot stomp, a Tremor clone and more would have been my first guess.

Really odd choice of powers there.
Add me to the list of those who want a ground pound. Vorpal was the best fit for my char, but it's a major stretch.

The proc is totally worth it, based on my experience with it so far (though not with an Invul/ so not directly positive of the benefit in this case). Overall, it is a nice set, if you can work it in - if nothing else to essentially get a purple-light set of bonuses (full if you can get the catalysts).
Ok, well, here is where I sound uninformed again, but what precisely would this be doing for me? I hesitate to give up anything from what seems to be working nicely (now at +4/ X8) to gain something I am not familiar with. I am also not sure what the "catalysts" would be.

Where do you think this would work best in the current build?
