One problem for me...
Mass Effect 3 -
I see three of these cards on New Egg and my untrained eye cannot discern the difference. I see that one is Superclocked. I also see that two of them are 192 bit ( one of them being the overclocked one ) and one is 256 bit..
Which of these should I be looking for? Also consider that if the price on these do drop as expected I would strongly consider buying two for an SLI set up (although in honesty I waver back and forth on that a little).

Im deciding between a 6970 and 560Ti now. I originally was going with Nvidia because it seemed like a lot of CoH people had issues with ATI drivers and I wanted to avoid that. I am not worried about the VC fitting in the case. I have seen online reviews that shows the largest card to date will fit with 2cm to spare and the middle cages for the harddrive are removable for future cards and I would probably remove it anyway for more airflow to the VC from the front fans.
It seems the thing to do is go EVGA with Nivdia but I have no idea who to use with Ati.. XfX and Sapphire seem to be the most common but I dont know about those vendors.
Is there anything that I should be wary of ??
I want to make a decision on these cards.. I will either go with Corsair Vengence or the G.Skill RipsJaws Ram as bother get excellent grades from reading on the net.
I might upgrade the PSU slighty to a 750 just so I have power to spare..
I didnt see that the 1.5 TB is the same price as the 500 so I will go with that.. i will wait on that to see if the price drops a little..
I am buying the case. ram. mb and cpu first in the hopes that pricing will drop on the VC and the HD..
Still looking for a Blu Ray burner.. everyone I have liked is either out of stock or too much loot. -
I think ive pretty much decided not to bother with SLI, again i dont run a lot of stuff on my PC.. pretty much just CoH and RTS strategy games. Thats it..
I will look at a better video card but I dont need the latest and greatest top of the line... id rather get a very good card that plays everything i am playing now better and save a little coin as I am over budget as it is.. I dont think I will need the latest thing from ATI or Nvidia.
Im coming off a pentium 2 with an ATI 9600XT video card and 1.5 megs of ram with a 130 gig hardrive..
This will be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything I have ever owned. -

I was @ Microcenter this weekend and they are having some big sales. I like that case so thats what I am going to go with and it works perfect with the H100. I didnt see the 1.5TB Harddrive and for the same price thats a no brainer.
I will be shopping prices before I buy.. New Egg just is convenient to look at everything. Ill shop Neww Egg. Microcenter and Amazon to get the best pricing I can find. Ill buy as much as I can from Microcenter since there is an actual store near me.
I will look at the video cards once again. I might go to a better power supply.
Again a lot of my reasoning is based on the fact I am running an almost 9 year old machine now so anything I get now will be WAY better and one of the reasons I want to build is because I can always upgrade it myself better, because i know whats going on.. -
What is your recommendation for RAM ?? im looking for 8 gigs..
I went with the 460 because i figured it fits within a budget and will be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than anything I can run now.. keep in mind the only thing I play on PC is CoH and strategy games.. im not doing BF3 or CoD on my PC.. I have an Xbox for that... -
Im coming very late to this party.. but I remember back in the day when my Snipe could be slotted Pre-Ed with one Acc and Five damage.. then it was worth the time to fire and the end cost because with BU and AIM I was going to definitely take out at least ONE LT.. That made me very valuable on teams with Airhammer. Sapper.. got him.. Avalance Shaman.. got him.. annoying minion or LT.. done... I could also put a pretty big hurt on a boss.. usually enough to take him out in 3-6 attacks if all worked out well..
And Nukes were actually devastating...
NOW as much as I love my blasters.. they arent nearly the damage kings for the risk involved.. There used to be a very high reward for very high risk... now i can play ANY one of my dominators with permadom and still get very high reward with considerably lower risk since I can mezz mobs.. damage mobs.. cant be mezzed and get massive end recovery...
Blasters should have Snipes totally fixed to be worth a crap and Nukes should get a serious upgrade... Ill even keep the crashes on some... but I want a CRAP TON more damage..
My Tank with a judgement power and footstomp should not be beating things faster than my blaster... -

I wont figure this in right away, looking at videos it easy to add in takes like 10-15 mins tops. I might change the stock fans for Noctua's or Cougars. I dont think I will be doing anything like a Push Pull with 4 fans... I want more quiet.

Not that I'm advocating you building a "Tim Taylor Special 500 HP garbage disposal" or anything.
Just curious what spurred the choice for that specific unit.

The H80 was a fair compromise. However the H100 will serve be better in the long run and I have seen nothing but good reviews about it. The little extra cash gives me a little extra cooling and it will fit in the top of the Corsair 500r perfectly too.. -

Corsair H80 (liquid) or Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (Air)
Both get great reviews.. Hyper 212 is less expensive, Corsair H80 might be better in the long run for better cooling...
I can go either way.. -

I didn't recommend that Gigabyte motherboard. It just sounded like someone thought you were "misinformed/crazy" when you asked if the SSD attaches directly to the motherboard so I was just pointing one out with a mSATA connector for SSD to show such a thing exist.
That Asus motherboard is just fine, sorry for the confusion.

Hyperstrike can you compare the Gigabyte motherboard that Fxmas recommended in his post to the one you recommended?
I think I will go with one of those two..
I am looking now at the Corsair H80 or H100 radiators since they fit within the case i chose well.. they seem to be well prices and I have seen pretty good reviews everywhere...
Also could you post a link to someplace that can advise me once I get started.. I am not concerned about plugging things together but I have never done a PC from scratch so I know nothing about how to install the OS or make sure the Bios stuff is up to date..
Should I plug to the MB first and make sure everything works and is installed and updated BEFORE i put everything in the case ??

Being a novice I have a still few questions..
Will this allow me to overclock a little and possibly expand into an SLI configuration later? Im thinking about utilzing an old 32" HDTV as a monitor at some point and have heard that SLI will work well for this ( how true that is I do not know )
Will this board allow me to utilize a small SSD ( 32 -64 gigs ) on the motherboard to use as a cache to boot up Windows and CoH faster ?? does this attach directly to the motherboard or does it go to one of the hard drive bays ??
Which SSD should I choose. I have looked at Corsair and they seem to make pretty decent stuff. I am going with their 500r case and I like their modular power supplies as well.
Will this work Wirelessly from the MB or will I need to get some type of wireless USB device.. right now my PC is wired into my router but the router is wireless and when we ge ta bigger apartment I want the ability to move my PC where ever I want...
Do I need a cooler for the motherboard.. I will run my PC for hours of gaming.. should I get one.. I prefer non liquid and as QUIET as possible. The Noctua, Thermaltakes and the Coolermaster Hyper 212 seem to be the most popular.. Do I even need one of these..
my original budget was 1000-1200.. Id dont mind spending 1400-1600 to get a few better things that will make my system work better.. cooler and last much longer.. and give me the ability to upgrade down the line..
I pretty much have the case, cpu (going 1-5 Sandy Bridge ), ram and video card figured out.. Not going crazy on the PSU but not going to skimp.. will probably buy a little more power than I need hedging against the future...
with everyones help and reading sites suggested I have figured out a lot.. just dont know jack about the MB's... -

First off lets explain a few things. The entire game is not free to play. It is a hybrid free to play model.
Secondly prior to premium access when you stopped paying you couldnt play A THING.. zip.. zilch zero nada...
Now with premium access you can pay TWO dollars a month and have access to all the IO's for a licence. 15 bucks.. or 2 bucks.. 180 bucks a year vs 36 bucks a year..
Also if you get to tier 7 either through previous accrued subscriber reward tokens or purchasing enough paragon points you can then get IO access for free...
SO in all honesty CoH isnt going to fix it because it isnt broken. -

I have a lot of builds that already work well, and I hear people talking about the procs and I am wondering how good they are or even if they are worth it.
Then about upgrading them ?? whats that about and how does that work ??

In all honesty this is what I can tell you from my experience.. There is a combination of what you do as a player, what your team does, and what goals you accomplish that seem to affect the metric to a certain degree. How much I couldnt tell you..
Its definitely very random and you can MAKE the system give up something..
However I think damage and debuffs factor in well.. -
I was also looking at Dell and some of the XPS systems. my Current PC is from Cyberpower and is also like 7-8 years old now. Seriously I would take a stab at building your own. There are people on this forum like Hyperstrike and Father Xmas who are extremely helpful. I figured out that I could build my own system for at least 600-800 less and it would be at least as good and in some cases better.
From what I have seen and read around the net its not actually all that complicated and I am sure there are people here that would help you. -

Grav/Time is an awesome combo. /Time helps fill gravity's early control gaps and gravity has a great single target damage potential that can hammer at the targets you're slowing in your patch and with your aura.
I picked up Spring Attack for some AoE and so I can get into melee fast with my slow aura if needed. I can also use it for a double knockdown control right after a worm holed group I tossed into a corner tries to get to their feet. -

This is, overall, a pretty nice build. I'd make a few minor changes in slotting, but overall pretty good. All the Hami-Os help with the lack of slots.
Time Crawl: That second Acc slot is probably needed more in other places. It's not bad to have it, but slots are in short supply on this build.
Crushing Field: I'm not sure the Nukes are providing all that much benefit. Might want to go for more Acc/EndRdx or some Acc/Mez Hami-Os (unless you have the Cardiac Alpha). The three procs are great though. Again, not bad slotting at all, but might be slightly better if slotted differently.
Super Speed: Try to get a Celerity Stealth in there. Full Invisibility makes a BIG difference. It lets you lead Singy into battle to draw aggro without getting any aggro yourself.
GDF: The Baz Gaze set alone doesn't have enough Accuracy to make up for the 20% Acc penalty. Consider taking that slot out of Time Crawl for an Acc/Hold/Rech here, assuming you use the power fairly frequently.
Temporal Selection: 5 slots here for a 5% Recharge? Personally, I think you can get by with a simple Recharge here, and use those 4 slots in other places. To make up for the 5% Recharge lost, you could replace Recall Friend with Combat Jumping (immob protection and maneuverability) and slot it with a LotG Recharge.
Hover: If you are going to keep Recall Friend, you could slot Recall Friend with a Zephyr -Knockback and thus free up a slot out of Hover.
Singy: Consider replacing the Centriole with a Dam/Mez. Also, if you get some spare slots, put both +10% Resistance for pets procs here. Those procs make Singy much tougher.
With a spare slot, you could put another LotG Recharge into Indomidible Will . . . so you would gain 15% recharge from those slots given up out of Temporal Selection.
