What I find funny about these posts is that it talks about fixing Hami-O's PLURAL as if there is something wrong with ALL Hami-O's when the REAL issue is the one with the bug exploit that was fixed.
Been using Hami's since day one.. have em on lots of characters.. Often use them to save slots on powers or to finish off something ( like adding a Nucleo to a blast set that uses 5 Decimation but falls a little short on damage and gets an accuracy boost )
Im on the totally opposite side.. I think Hami-O's work just fine the way they are and dont need to be enhanced or boosted..
And I would also say that one other reason that Hami raids are probably being run less is the new incarnate zone and everyone leveling Dark and Beast mastery toons. -
Quote:I wasnt directing this at you... It was toward the populace in generalFor what it's worth I have never "whined" about this bug fix. In fact I've expected this fix for so long that I NEVER exploited this bug because I ALWAYS assumed that the fix for it was going to happen "any time now".
I realize there are plenty of people whining about the bug fix. I am NOT one of them and never have been.
My suggestion that the Hami-O values be restored back to their original 50% values has always been independent of the bug and its ramifications. I have felt that ever since ED was established there was no need for that nerf to remain and I've always felt that 50% Hami-Os would generally benefit everyone with greater interest in Hami raids. -
I have an idea that wont be popular..
Stop whining about an exploit that people knew about.. the devs said they knew about it and that it would be fixed.. and then when it was eventually fixed complain that what you KNEW was broken and used to your benefit was REMOVED..
Get over it.. Hami-O's are fine the way they are.. I use them on almost every character I have.. -
Its so annoyingly loud that I will not be rolling a Dark Dom. I was standing in Atlas the other day respecing and someone had one near me and I wanted to reach through the screen and strangle the person who had it out...
Lately all the pets make noise.. TOOOOOO Much noise.. Demons. Dark Wolf and the Beast Pets...
very very very annoying.. -
I am pretty select with what I take to T4..
First off for me only mu signature characters or those that benefit from it greatly get T4 and even with those I might not do T4 in every category. I look at each character individually and access whether its worth it..
Example..
My Elec/Elec blaster went to T4 on Alpha. Judgement and Interface and T3 on Destiny and Lore..
My Fire/Fire Tank did T3.. T4 wasnt worth it for him...
My Elec/SS tank when T4 only on the Alpha for Spiritual.. now he has perma energize..well worth it..
Decide for yourself.. be selective -
This is the reason why I didnt make a Dark Control Dom.. that one thing ruined the whole set for me. I play with headphones and I dont want to hear that all day..
I actually left a team that had a Dark Control and a Beast Mastery and Demon Summon MM because these noises were annoying as hell -
Yes it is possible...
Airhammer my namesake NRG/NRG blaster has at least two damage range centrioles in every ranged attack.. ( yes EVERY ) and makes a point of fighting in hover and at a distance and uses Snipe quite liberally.. and I can pretty much outdistance anything so far except for Fake Nemesis..
I also made an Arch/Devices character called SureShot who has lots of perception, Target Drone and Tactics running and the Perception Proc.. pretty much he can see through anything.. Those Arachnos Chics with the smoke grenade.. HAH.. Probably way too much accuracy and To Hit Buffs...
But it sure is fun hitting a Paragon Protector through MoG... -
Quote:Thanks for this.. I was thinking of rerolling my KM/EA which I dont like...I have a SS/EA brute who is level 50, and he is great! I loved the combo, and I played him up way back before EA got any love. Now he is even better in ways. My guy is softcapped to most stuff, and I think I am even pretty high on negative defense. I am not permahasten, but I am just maybe 5-10 seconds off.
Anyway, whatever you decide, I will say that I thnk Super Strength / Energy Aura is a fun combo.
Lewis
I was debating SS or Claws... I decided to go SS because of this post.. then I looked at the potential build... Very Nice.. -
I would just like a judgement thats an Energy Blast style.. not fire.. not lightning.. no elemental thingie.. just a big fat blast of Energy which would work well for SOOOO many characters its not even funny..
Why this doesnt exist yet is mind boggling. -
This was the worst 2xp weekend I have ever had.. Didnt get anywhere near the levels I wanted too..
oh well.. -
I mean really this has gotten beyond the realm of annoying. First these demon pets who roar and scream all the time.. I wont even play on a team with one anymore because the sounds is so incredibly annoying especially if you play with headphones like me.. Its bad enough to be standing in a zone like RWZ and you can hear them everywhere and please dont let there be more than one demon MM around..
NOW you have made this Umbral Pet which barks all the time and then makes that awful howling noise when in combat constantly. After years of wanting to play Darkness Conrtol you have in one move made it so that I will either never play the set, or I wont take the pet.. Its THAT annoying..
Please If there is anyway to silence these pets or made the sound fade lower after a while consider it.. and PLEASE dont make anymore pets with loud constant annoying sounds. -
Nope... Take a snapshot of them or write the order down ( which is what I do )
-
I appreciate and understand everyones concern but knowing my situation and how I have to do things this is the way it is going to get done.
SO again thanks to everyone who helped !!! -
There was a problem in Beta when they tried adding extra slots.. something broke when leveling and apparently they couldnt devote the resources necessary to try and fix it..
Its one of those.. eventually things..
That being said I have said since FOREVER that at level 50 you should get Six Slots instead of 3 so that you could actually slot out that power you took late in your build better...
I can think of one build that I have that would not benefit from three slots even if its just a wee bit more end reduction or end recovery.. -
Thanks for the advice but I have to do it this way.. if I try and save the money it will get used for something else. That simply doesnt work for me. Ive already worked out the compatibility issues and its not like im building a very complex system and everyone here has already been a huge help with that.
Im not worried about the parts themselves.. Ive got faith its all going to work out fine !! -
I live on a budget and worked my computer into the budget. For somethings I can buy several pieces at once. Ive had to adjust my budget a little ( going with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo instead of the H100 I wanted and going with a solid power suplly around 100 bucks instead of something around 150ish ).
But I did work in a SSD drive that will be around 90-120 gigs for Windows and my gaming stuff and frequently used programs.
But this will be much better than what I have and I will have room to grow. -
id like to say thanks to everyone who gave me advice on PC build stuff. Father Xmas, Hyperstrike, newchemicals, Ironblade and everyone who chimed in....
Case is on the way.. Looking at power supplies next paycheck !!! -
Quote:I respect you Airhammer, and many of the posters on the boards. I honestly appreciate being able to get feedback from you all and post my opinions. However, I cannot stop myself from just grabbing this snippet to illustrate my Don Quixote attack on the "It Ain't Ranged" Windmill. Hope you do not mind.
Because nothing says "Ranged" like that sentence.
You seriously make a good point though. Even as I abused as I have by stripping it down to STs and Ball/Nuke Elec is a decent set. The animations are cool, and I mostly enjoy it. What I do not like about it is that it is a Blapper set. Not Elec's fault. Not Blasters Archtypes fault.
I have seen many arguments and points being made about what they will not allow a Blaster to do (holds, mez prot, more damage, and on and on) and good reasons why they should not, and arguments why they should. What I have not seen is anyone explain what design/business decision would not allow them to be "Ranged" when they specifically say on their own character design screen they are "Ranged". They give new players a choice of a "Ranged" character, with all sorts of important, set balancing powers that are melee range and PBAoEs and wonder why they keep dying and falling behind Brutes at leveling. Gee, i wonder. Lets see, could it have anything to do with the fact that you told the Player they were getting a Ranged character and when they chose their powers they were mostly better suited to Blapping? Hmmm. I wonder.....
Nope dont mind at all...
I agree that if you play an Electric Blaster purely at range that you will not receive the total benefit of playing that Powerset. However i dont think that is a bad thing. The Elec Blaster has a mechanic that other blasters do not and there has always been a "risk/reward" factpr built into the game and for the Blaster one of those risks is going into melee.
And once again i have to point out that the choice of secondary and even Ancillary pools can greatly affect playstyle.. I can play my E3 solely at range and be perfectly safe. I use Ball Lightning and Static Discharge liberally and I can easy hold any two LT's with two ranged single target holds and I can easily hold any one boss with those attacks as well. I can throw down Voltaic Sentinal for some cheap damage that I dont have to worry about.
There are a great many ways to skin a cat. I think a large part of my advantage playing blasters is because my first toon was a blaster.. However they dont all play the same..
Airhammer my namesake is a NRG/NRG who has at least two Dam.Rng Hami's in every ranged attack. He uses boost range all the time.. he is built for range.. BUT if you get close.. expect to get pummeled by Energy Punch and Bone Smasher.. He also uses Power Push liberally to knock foes down. He can fight at EXTREME range and Melee.
Taser was built as a sapper. he can easily drain a +2 boss down to zero end in two attacks. He has enough recharge built in that Short Circuit comes up real fast.. He also can utilize up to three single target holds ( two ranged one melee ) to keep any LT or Boss locked down which keeps him free of a lot of danger.. And he has the propensity to annoy tanks who take to long on a foe by leapin in with Charged Brawl and Havoc Punch to finish their targets off. So he can fight both ranged and melee..
Reactor is built as a PbAoE monster... he is working toward softcap for S/L/E ( almost there ) he has a few ranged attack but prefers to jump right in the middle and use Irradiate/Fire Sword Circle/ Combustion and Burn while Blazing Aura and Hotfeet are running..
And there are still more to talk about.. but as far as Taser goes.. I can stay at range.. or I can get in close.. I let the situation dictate my actions.. -
I have an E3 Blaster that I have been playing pretty much for at least 5 years and I have found him to be one of the more versatile blasters I own.
I believe a huge part of the issue with Electric Blast as a set stems from what secondary you chose. Electric obviously goes well being able to use Short Circuit and Power Sink. Energy goes well being able to leverage Power Boost to help with End Drain. I have not tried it but I believe that Mental Manipulation would probably also work well with Drain Psyche.
I have no defense built into him at all and I havent had much issue running into a +2 mob of 6-8 and draining their end to zero and keeping it there... and that was before the new incarnate powers... -
Im still mind boggled that there is a post that is concerned about 3 tens of a second..
-
just go play your Spines and have fun like you have always had.. who cares if the new doodad has a lil more shine...
-
Illusion/Dark... I have wanted one FOREVER...
Phantasm, Phantom Army, Spectral Terror, and Dark Servant ??? Soul Mastery ???!!!!!!
BITE ME CARNIES !!!!! -
I think I am in the small minority.. I started playing with a blaster.. got used to how a blaster plays so to me the gameplay is quite normal.. i learned what to do and what not to do.. How to control my aggro. I learned which foes mez and which dont.. and this was before there were even breakfrees and no such thing as defiance ( even the crappy one )
I think that the people that play blasters make to much of being mezzed in all honesty.. last I checked Defenders. Corruptors and Controllers can all be mezzed. The blaster isnt the only AT dealing with mezz..
The major issue that I see is that over the years with Power Proliferation and APP improvements and not Incarnate powers there really just isnt as much of a NEED to have that blaster on the team because other players can do as much damage..
You can build a very effective blaster but its more challenging to do so rather than say a scrapper, brute or a dominator.. in fact I would say that dominators are the biggest problem, because they are literally the AT with two primaries.
Blaster secondaries unfortunately dont always compliment the Primary or even the AT.. They should help the blaster BLAST better an in reality most of them do not.. -
I think one thing that gets ignored when talking about End Drain. Most people expect the game to work like it does when a player runs out of end... you cant attack.. However NPC can attack with little to no end.. HOWEVER what I have noticed is that they will tend to use their lower tier attacks and I have noticed that toggle type powers will shut off when their end gets low enough..
I run an E3 Blaster and it is one of the better combos I have played..
