I think I heard someone say they copied Freedom to Test, do your characters on Freedom match? (might be a few days/weeks out of date)
  2. Freedom removed the veteran rewards program and introduced the paragon rewards program. How many tokens do you have? What does your rewards tree look like? The attack power options are:
Tier 3: Sands of Mu/Ghost Slaying Axe
    Tier 5: Nemesis Staff/Blackwand
Tier 6: [choice of what you didn't pick in Tier3/5]

There are "weapon sets" (redraw weapon after using out-of-set powers) and "unarmed sets" (no redraw). That's what the OP is talking about.

The "redraw" of the swords and hammers in elemental sets is actually baked into the animation -- unlike weapon sets which, quite a while back now, had their animations tweaked to remove the "redraw delay" (remember how you used to pause between one attack and another?) from the total animation time (reducing time between in-set powers) ... and given actual redraw (ended up being close to the same amount of time as before between in-set and out-of-set powers).

Any retail box counts toward the token for retail code, not just CoV and GR...e.g. Architect, GvE, etc.

Test server is for testing the next patch to the live servers. It's always either the same patch or one patch (very occasionally, two patches) ahead of Live.

Beta server is for more dedicated testing, often closed beta testing (which is followed by open beta testing - which may or may not also be on Beta), e.g. Going Rogue and Freedom betas. It can be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than Test or Live, as it was during Freedom testing, though before I uninstalled Beta after the Freedom testing it was keeping pretty close patch-wise with Live (the same or one behind, basically matching Test - I don't know if it's still the same). Also, Beta isn't always available to log in to.

You're thinking at it from the wrong end.

Your whole account gets the rewards (Account Items) and only one character can get the reward (Character Items).

    Beta

Should be. It should have either the current patch or the next one being tested, which means SJ should be in there.
  8. How about a "Cheat Sheet" section!

    - Click the circle at the end of the power bar to turn a toggle or click power on and off.
    - ALT+L-CLICK on a power bar or L-click a power name in the lefthand list to remove a power from your build.
    - SHIFT+L-CLICK or double-click a slot to remove it from a power.
    - Middle-Mouse-Button click an empty slot to automatically slot another of the last enhancement that you used (this includes the next IO from an IO set!)
    - Hit + and - with the enhancement picker window is open to boost and degrade enhancements.
    - Hit numbers with the enhancement picker window is open to select a different level IO than default.
    - Even if it's not lit up, you can still click a power to place it in the earliest level power slot available (individual power's level restrictions still apply)
    - Drag and drop powers by clicking and holding, then moving the mouse. Powers can be moved before their level restriction -- they will turn red in the power list when out of order.
    - ALT+W (Window menu) -> ALT+R (Recipe Viewer) to get a shopping list of all the enhancements, recipes, and salvage used in your build (incarnate powers not included).
    - Double-click "Accolades", "Incarnate", and "Temp Pwrs" buttons to open up a selection window to turn on and off various powers that belong to these systems.
    - Powers that can stack or get better/worse based on number of enemies/allies hit have a green bar that can be adjusted under the power description; i.e. Dark Regeneration can hit up to 10 enemies, so drag the bar to the right to see the heal numbers based on more enemies hit.
    - The respec helper (Window > In-Game Respec Helper > x) opens a window that stays on top of all other windows to help you select powers and place slots in the correct order while you're respecing or leveling up.
    - Options > Configuration > Exemping & Base Values > Base ToHit. A player has a 75% base chance to hit an even-level critter. The base chance to hit higher level critters is lower, and goes lower each level up: +1 is 65%, +2 is 56%, etc. (table). Change this number if you regularly fight enemies of more than even-level to get a more accurate view of your final hit chance.

These are all I can think of off the top of my head, I can probably think of more helpful, lesser-known tidbits.

Test and Beta are not attached to a real billing system. You "buy" points, you don't actually buy points.

When you get to the purchase screen, click on "Update card on file" (or something close to that) -- you should see that there is a "credit card" attached that has the fake number "12345678"... and that part of your name/address may be correct but part will be incorrect. This is on purpose to show you that this isn't a "real" purchase -- buy points to your heart's content!

*I haven't logged into beta to see if this is still active. This is how it was during headstart. I uninstalled beta so hopefully someone else can test this method!

Nitpick: not the end of our subscription unless you buy one month at a time; one reward token is awarded a month. Due to some technicalities, this won't always match your billing date. They are aware that that is problematic and confusing and are investigating it. Announcement by Zwillinger for slightly more details.

    Cheap renames?

You don't get a rename prompt until you actually log in Joe Smith1 (the transferred toon).

No, they're all the same. Creating a hero MM is the same as creating a villain MM, you just make the hero choice in the tutorial instead of the villain choice.

Alternately, you redeem your villain MM to become a rogue MM then a hero MM.

I like how you focus on the first sentence and completely ignore the second sentence.
  16. There are two different "X Item" types and they work differently. The OP seems to be conflating the two because they mention Character Items and refer to Account Items.

Account Items can be claimed once by every character on an account.

Character Items can be claimed once by one character, period.

I didn't call you a liar, I said you were wrong. There is a huge difference. The first is a comment in negative light, tantamount to a personal attack. The second is a description of your words.

Or you can pick another one! SO transferring will allow you to change the name and free up the name on the original server. Or you could keep the name on both servers.

Not sure if there is an hourly cool down on transfers but I know I was able to transfer one and then another the next morning.

That's the only time I ever used any server transfers. In that case, I'm pretty sure there was only a rename option if the name had already been taken on the new server you'd moved to.
That's because Maestro is wrong. That's not how it works. The only time you get a free rename is if the name on the target server isn't available. If your name is free on the target server, you keep your name.

I have done enough server transfers to know this first hand, unless they changed it after Freedom was announced because I haven't done any server transfering since before they said VIPs would get a free transfer a month.

It is always this way with pretty much every game. Players are better ...uh, "documenters" than developers, just in general.

That's because you were bumped into at least Tier 2, which unlocks trading. I don't know why you were able to trade enhancements before, to be honest. I'm firing up my two accounts as I type in order to test that.

EDIT: Yep. I still don't know why you were able to trade before if one of you was a Free Player (instead of a Premium Player). My freebie account had trade failed for trading inf, trading insps, and trading enhancements. I didn't have any salvage, recipes, or IOs on hand to try those.

EDIT2: Actually, re-reading the OP, you are a VIP and your friend is a Premium? In which case the only thing I can think of is you were attempting to trade too much inf at a time, because Preemies have lower inf caps.
  20. Necroposting is against the forum rules so don't be surprised if you get your threads locked and a finger-wag PM from a mod. :/
  21. When server transfers got put in, there was a mass exodus of players off Freedom to other servers. There was also a mass exodus of players off other servers onto Freedom and Virtue. Virtue didn't see the mass exodus off (there were some, but not nearly as many as Freedom), so combine the two previous sentences: it now ends up being higher population fairly often.
  22. Well of course. /f uses the character friends list.

    That's why I said /friend Player A, not /gfriend Player A.
  23. The first part of your post is repeating what I said. The second part, regarding headstarter's billing dates changed, is news to me (my billing date in my NCsoft account is still the same, I don't see why they would go off of anything other than that number).

So... what... PP will award on October 11, November 11, December 11, and January 11 for _EVERYONE_ who was in headstart? That's pretty...stupid...
