Free accounts and trading restrictions

So I'm a returning player, and I signed up last month with a paid account. I was really just getting prepared and back into the game before my children started up with "freedom" accounts. In any case, I went to trade inf to my son's account, but the trade wasn't allowed.

I was able to trade enhancements, but not influence to another player who was using a "premium" free account.

However in looking around I haven't seen any restrictions on trading other than access to the auction house.

Is there anywhere that these restrictions are documented or explained? Or am I just a reNoob that doesn't know how to use the interface?

Since you have access to the account he's using, log in and check his rewards tier.

I'm pretty sure you can only hold 10,000 on the trial tier and can't trade. Buying points gets you increased inventory and I think you have to be tier 2 or 3 to trade influence. Though I'm not sure so...

Easiest way to check, other than waiting for someone to come along with the answer is check his rewards page. To the right, the little thermometer, if you hover over, will tell what that level unlocks.

Much appreciated.

Also, it appears that once I spent money on the account to open up some character slots, we were able to trade without restriciton. Even straight gifts of influence.

Both site as ingame have little to no information on the unlocks per Tier, only bits of the bonus stuff you get per Tier if you are VIP.

But on the help channel, its pretty much the most asked question when <insert restriction> is unlocked or at what tier. (MM/troller AT, AE, trading/whisper, IO's etc).

It is always this way with pretty much every game. Players are better ...uh, "documenters" than developers, just in general.

That's because you were bumped into at least Tier 2, which unlocks trading. I don't know why you were able to trade enhancements before, to be honest. I'm firing up my two accounts as I type in order to test that.

EDIT: Yep. I still don't know why you were able to trade before if one of you was a Free Player (instead of a Premium Player). My freebie account had trade failed for trading inf, trading insps, and trading enhancements. I didn't have any salvage, recipes, or IOs on hand to try those.

EDIT2: Actually, re-reading the OP, you are a VIP and your friend is a Premium? In which case the only thing I can think of is you were attempting to trade too much inf at a time, because Preemies have lower inf caps.

The thermometer to the side of the Paragon Rewards bush has what is unlocked for having enough tokens to fill each Tier. For VIP, it shows the VIP unlocks, mostly inventory & auctions slots, on Free/Premium accounts is shows the rewards for Premiums.

Yea, I started a linked free account just so I could check the premium reward levels. It won't even bother showing them if you're VIP.

That is probably because it doesn't matter when you are VIP. Everything on the list for Premium players is stuff you get included. It does show you what you get at the different levels as a VIP. If I want to check on what Premium players get, I find it much easier to go to Paragonwiki to find out what I want, whether I am playing the game or not.

I was able to e-mail inf from a Premium account to a Free account and claim it on the Free account.
