Quote:It's a huge step forward from "United States (except Rhode Island and some others) and Canada (except Quebec) only", which was their modus operandi for years. And once again the residents of Oceania are left out. Those of us who play from Australia, NZ or other non-European Union countries are SOL.
Incidentally, why the heck is Rhode Island excepted? Poking around the interwebs doesn't tell me why Rhodesians can't play, but maybe I'm just using the wrong search terms. -
Quote:Please note that they have never said patch notes will be posted "directly" after an update. Any time after the update is "after the update", so even two days later is still valid. No patch notes, which has lamentably become par as of late - stating that patch notes will be posted directly after the update, and not doing so
However, I will note that I've already placed a comment in the official booster giveaway thread up in Announcement Discussion that the OCR folks seem to have gotten carried away with the giveaways and forgot to hit "post" on the patch notes.
edit: and they're up now: link -
Quote:No "tile" option in my task manager. You can actually do it automatically in most windows programs. Open up task manager with only the windows you want open. There's an option to "tile" them there.
edit: nevermind, I found it. Hey! That's awesome.
edit2: just to note, it doesn't work the way you say it. You have to ctrl+click to highlight the programs in the "Applications" list, selecting which ones you want to tile, THEN tile them from the Windows file menu within Task Manager. -
Quote:Oh, those poor Win7 souls... can only have two windows open side by side... Yes, I know, this is not actually the case, but you're making it sound like having two automagically resized windows side by side means anything special. You don't need any particular shape or size of window in order to do this. My windows are actually kind of messy and work just fine. I've got two on the left (General forums, Facebook) and two on the right (Twitter, NCsoft account). Win7's snap windows doesn't automatically resize four windows, so it means *nothing* in this instance.I think you misunderstand what i said. in the commercials for windows 7, they showed how you can have 2 windows sidebyside with a simple click of any 2 windows, without the need to resize them to fit onto the screen like in previous windows. thus you can see them the same size equally which makes things alot easier than having multiple windows open and click on each window seperately.
or by having to constantly adjust window sizes to try and duplicate what is already part of windows 7.
Technically I have a fifth and sixth window open as well, my "normal use" browser window (that has multiple tabs open in the one window) at about half-width (maximized is way too big on my 23" screen), and my City game running full screen in the background. Both of these get minimized though, when codes are afoot. -
K3zzit, they posted 2 codes in the 1 o'clock hour and 2 codes in the 2 o'clock hour. The codes can be posted on Facebook, Twitter, or here on the forums. You should read the OP, it has all the details.

I don't remember Firefox, the base browser, ever having reloading functionality built in. I do, however, remember a browser called "Avant", which is basically a shell overtop of IE, which does have reloading functionality built in.

Quote:Huh. And here I am, on Windows XP, with a constantly refreshing (every 10 seconds, through a Firefox addon) Twitter page, Facebook page, and forum page... and my Master Account page in a second Firefox window, to the side, set to refresh every 45 seconds to keep the login fresh. All I have to do is click once and enter the code and hit enter.this is one of those moments in which i wish i had windows 7, simply because of that double window thing they added to it, that allows to windows to be viewed at the same time.
it wouldn't surprise me if those who won are using windows 7....
to see the code page.. and have your account open.. to look and type it at the same time without having to switch pages....
I haven't won one yet, but you're talking like only Win7 folks can do multiple windows.
I can button mash 20 keys at random in about a second and a half at most. -
With all of the hullaballoo over the booster giveaway, did we forget that the patch announcement says there will be patch notes posted after the downtime? Here it is, several hours after the downtime is over, and there are no patch notes here on the forums or on the official site. I think the OCR folks got caught up in the giveaway fervor.
I mean, I know I can go to the test forum and look at those notes, but it's nice to be able to link official, live notes to people who are asking about today's patch. Instead of directing them to potentially old information, as things may have been tweaked between when test notes were posted and the live version applied. -

Quote:No, trying to apply an NA code to an EU account, or an EU code to an NA account, just returns an error for the person trying to apply it. It does not actually 'use' the code. And one more Q - People on FB thought the last code posted was an NA (since it came well after 4EST) and people are having a fit saying that since a NA account entered the code, that it made the code 'lost' and no one could claim it. Is this true? Just curious is all.

Hooray for hyperbole.

This is how many patch notes we've had this year. A ridiculously low number, actually. -
1. That's Cimerora. Praetoria is where Tyrant lives. We don't get to play there until Going Rogue.

2. Maybe. This is a personal decision you should make for yourself.

3. http://paragonwiki.com
4. skip, I have no interest in AE.

5. There are no day jobs for earning merits, unless you count Vanguard Merits, in which case you must log out in the Vanguard Base in RWZ.

(Rajani, is that enough links for you?)

TCS's signature made me search out the thread, and I had a good ol' snicker at j_s's expense.
This post has no relevancy to the thread at hand. -
Quote:Just means people will tailor a MoQTF character that has flight or teleport and recall friend. Of course, there are a ton of people who have those power combinations already (like most of my characters) and don't have to do any kind of tailoring. So, you're saying that you'd like to do a Doctor Quaterfield Task Force on a character that uses Super Speed, with the TF set to "No Temp Powers", meaning that you don't get to use a Jet Pack?
There's also Mission Teleporter, though I'm not certain that's available under Mo circumstances. It's not a temporary power...but then again, neither are vet powers and those are unavailable. -
Because people have been asking for cross-faction trading since before Global Email was even a twinkle in the devs' eyes? And this makes a wider audience to hype news to? Make more people excited about GoRo?

Quote:No, that doesn't raise the level cap to 60, it makes the level 50 experience fatter. The incarnate system does essentially raise the level cap to 60. You get 10 new levels of slots and/or powers. I know they aren't calling it raising the level cap but that's what it is.

Quote:"We will begin with our European friends and will start releasing Super Booster V: Mutant codes, two per hour on the Message Board, Twitter or Facebook, starting at 5:00 p.m. British Time (18:00 Central European Time) until around 10:00 p.m. British Time (23:00 Central European Time). Then, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time (4:00 p.m. Eastern Time), we'll start giving away North American codes every hour until about 5 p.m. Pacific (8:00 p.m. Eastern Time). Please remember that US and EU codes are not interchangeable!" -
Quote:Heh, yeah, since you're a refugee from WoW... Our worst trolls here are better than some of the non-trolls in WoW.i'll keep an eye out for those posters. and i'm not too worried about getting my feelings hurt. if you ever check out EJ take a look at their simple questions/simple answers column. they are BRUTAL.
thanks again everyone for all the great tips.Umbral isn't a troll (well, usually), but he doesn't sugarcoat.

*head tilt* Would very much be interested in hearing a Kiwi faking a Russian accent. This is an intriguing thought. Most folks can't get rid of their personal speaking style entirely when adopting temporary accents (see also: terrible "British" accents of most American actors.)
/THREADJACK holy crap. LOL -
Quote:Hmm, poking at the wiki, it seems I completely misremembered several powers, which is embarrassing considering I have a Pain-Dom Corruptor sitting at level... 22?Eh, the main one where other sets would buff others and Pain Dom buffs the caster is the rez. Still has plenty of buffage for others.
