Quote:Nope. I made a throwaway account last night to verify this. You can give pretty much any name at all, and it doesn't matter what you set as your credit card name, or your name in your shipping address. Whatever name you give at battle.net account creation is your RealID.Except if you pay by credit card, the name registered to your Battle.net account is the one on the card. So how exactly are you supposed to give Blizzard a fake name?
Keep in mind though that they're monitoring RealID usage and will probably shut down accounts with fake names. And probably not give you your money back if you spent any. -
I silenced a lot of sounds. A LOT. I didn't change any to sound like something else. I may change the glowie sound sometime, because lately I've had a terrible time tracking it down unless I turn the volume way up, which makes everything else REALLY LOUD AND HURTS MY EARS, HOLY CRAP. Or maybe I'll just figure out what the file is and use a sound editor to make it louder and keep the noise itself... just louder. It's not a bad noise, it just gets...lost.
I silenced the "that power is not recharged, moron!" noise. That was actually the first one I did way, way, way back when, when I first found that thread. That sound is f#&@ing annoying. -
Fixed because changing the color at all often makes it hard to read, especially if you are assuming someone is reading the forums with the same colors you are (we have a blue scheme and a dark red scheme, don't use weird colors)

City doesn't play well with Intel chipsets. There are real video cards available as cheap as $50 that would be leagues ahead of your onboard video. -

Quote:Actually, doesn't an invasion happen in a random zone on BOTH blue side and red side after an LGTF?IIRC it is based of which side the team leader is on. A brute leading the LGTF will trigger an invasion on red side and vice versa.
The "random zone, blue side OR red side" event is after turning in Halloween salvage. -

I have been careful enough with my online identity for quite a while, that there's virtually nothing since just after high school (when I was ridiculously dumb with my online security). It's kind of amazing, since I have a VERY uncommon name. There's only one other person with the same first+last combination in the States (and oddly enough she lives in the same metro area as me!) according to various "white pages" style lookups.
I use generic enough usernames (typically common names from non-English languages; see also: Aggelakis, a common Greek last name!) that they're virtually untraceable. Not a single hit on Aggelakis; there are too many famous Greeks with that last name for my pissant little posts on a City forum to matter.
I searched my boyfriend's name and laughed hysterically. Having the first name "John" makes it almost a non-starter, and his last name is pretty common too (though not "Smith" common)

Your avatar made me squee until I had a horrendous coughing fit.

Quote:Each of your characters is the star in each of their universes. Each of my characters is the star in each of their universes. Each of Fleeting Whisper's characters is the star in each of their universes. How is that disrespecting others' characters?I really can't subscribe to the concept that we're each the star in some canned universe, that is far too much of a disrespect to all the other players' characters.
Everyone's character is the special one, according to them - AND according to the way the game is generally presented, via story arcs. Only one person can save Statesman from Tyrant, after all...unless the world at large is incredibly jaded and accepts a complete moron who constantly gets kidnapped by their biggest alternate dimension foe. No, each story arc is presented as "the only time this has happened, this hasn't happened before, nope, this is something totally different". -
Quote:*AN* alt for each? *AN*? Honey, that there's only 10 alts! 14 once you get your first 20 on each side, but how the hell will that happen if you're rolling alts all the time!?!No, no, no, I don't think you understand how this works. You don't pick an AT... you roll an alt for each, and play every possible combination
You obviously need to roll as many alts as it takes to play every single powerset available to each AT, possibly multiple times!
*coughs and pushes aside her list of 100+ characters* -
Quote:Silos is not messing with everyone. Each single character is the focal point of their game. What happens to other characters has no bearing on what happens in that character's "world".The question becomes if Silos is just messing with everyone... what's his goal?
Silos only talks to Character A in Character A's world. Silos does not talk to Character B in Character A's world, because Character B is not the world's savior/the destined one/whatever. Character A is.
Silos only talks to Character B in Character B's world. Silos does not talk to Character A in Character B's world, because Character A is not the world's savior/the destined one/whatever. Character B is.
Your entire theory is doodie because it starts out based on doodie. -

Don't use Wikia. It's outdated, often wrong (either because it's outdated or because someone doesn't know what they're talking about), and full of spam/ads/RMT.
Use Paragon Wiki. http://paragonwiki.com -

Quote:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/search.phpAggelakis, not everyone reads every post you make. If you get tired of posting the same thing time and time again then you can choose not to do so.
Especially in the tech forum, there have been TONS of posts about the level size label on enhancement fonts. I don't expect people to look at MY post history, but I do expect people to search for already-existent threads on their topic. I've posted those images in most of them.
Of course, expecting people to search is pretty silly of me, since it seems to happen so rarely.

Quote:They both are from the same monitor. The reason the widescreen one has bigger numbers is because it has more pixels to render them. What are the resolutions on these monitors? The widescreen one has small but readable numbers, while the 4:3 numbers are unreadable.
The 4:3 was taken in a 1024x768 window, on a 1920x1080 resolution 16:9 monitor.
The 16:9 was taken at 1920x1080, fullscreen mode. -
Old enhancement screen on a widescreen monitor. Notice the distortion: circles are not circles, the title bar is mashed.
New enhancement screen on a widescreen (16:9) monitor. Circles are circles, title bar is not mashed. Extra room on the end is due to more pixels available but the same number of pixels being used as before.
New enhancement screen on a standard (4:3) monitor. Circles are circles, title bar is not mashed, and no extra space.
Stop with the ridiculous "more enhancement slot spaces!" theory already, I've pulled these images out at least a dozen times now.
