Whether I play on Guardian or Freedom, it doesn't frikken matter (I play on both of them, by the way; in fact, I play regularly on all the servers). I pay the same subscription, regardless. If I am subscribed to the game, I am helping to pay for the upgrades to the game. It doesn't matter what server I've chosen to play on, or even if I'm playing the game at all. And sometimes I go more than a month without playing but I'm still subscribed, so how do you fit THAT into your little theory? I'm helping build the game, but I'm not playing on a low pop server or a high pop server. Zounds! You might need to rethink your comment there. Since it's wrong and all.
  3. Building silhouettes also look like that pretty often in Batman cartoons.

Unless they're compulsively checking global names for what characters are on, you can't friend a global name without the other person accepting it. If the other person accepts it, it's not a desperate move.

/hide doesn't stop incoming tells. There is an option to hide from tells, but you still get them, and the sender gets told you aren't online or are hiding.

This reportedly ties into a database access issue that the developers are hesitant to try and fix at this time since the system is largely working as intended.

So if you want to check a character name: do so BEFORE you generate the character.
Well, as long as you have a character on that server, you can check for names at the character select screen... otherwise it doesn't work.

    I > Team

    1. If you are not meshing with your teammates' play style, you should quit so you can join a team (or create one!) that meshes with your play style. Additionally, don't get pissy/whiny if you get kicked due to your play style.

That's my take on it. I don't care if you're going too fast or going too slow, if you're not doing what the team wants to be doing, you should quit to do what you want to do without interrupting the team.

Yeah, the terrible grammar is a dead giveaway for scams. NCsoft typically only makes typos, not huge grammar fumbles.

    Easily done.
If your account is already set up, you cannot do this.

I certainly am not starting over on a new account with a fake name after all the work I've put into my current account. Like hell!
  9. NCsoft will never ask you to verify your identity to prevent account closure. This goes the same for most other game companies out there.

Be smart and nothing ever happens.

Unless you posted your email to the forums (a real bonehead move, honestly), this is impossible because the forums don't use your email address anywhere.

Actually, typing enchantments into the wiki brings you to the enhancements page now, I just created redirects (and made a little note on the page overview).

The forums, not so much. Though you'll find other newbies asking about enchantments and being corrected. You just won't find all the threads on enhancements that never use the wrong word.
  11. Just a note: It's "enhancements", not "enchantments" - there are people in-game (not so many on the forums) who will make fun of someone for calling them something from a fantasy game, so I'm just giving a head's up.

It's actually ccpodperson (and ninja leap is 'ccninjajump'). I'm pretty certain there's no bugs (at least, common ones) with any of the CCEs, beyond some unexpected names (which aren't bugs).
Energy Morph (CCPodPerson) will be getting an appropriate name (CCEnergyMorph) when the patch on the test server hits live. Of course, we don't know if this means *an additional name*, or if they're removing CCPodPerson entirely in favor of CCEnergyMorph, but I personally hope it's the former rather than the latter, because otherwise I've gotta change a bunch of binds

No. Every ten seconds after it's turned on, regardless of your position or your enemies' positions. If no enemies are in range during that tick, it can not attempt to trigger.

Well, my 8800 GTX allows me to turn on some Ultra Mode stuff, but only on low levels and only a few of the options.

That 8400 GS is approximately half as powerful as my card.

It may be an 8 series card, but it is on the low end of the series. The first number is the generation, the second number is how powerful it is. A "4" is pretty pitiful.
  17. Nope. You need a modern card to turn on all of the features of Ultra Mode, and right now, an ATI card is usually a better deal (nVidia cards tend to be more money than their equivalent ATI cards of the same specs)

Now, not every character had to do this, but the scrapper characters I made usually outlvled their enhancements faster than they'd get inf to replace them.

If a player isn't taking full advantage of the market but the vendors instead, I could imagine there being issues with inf.
If a player isn't selling stuff on the market, I don't have a lot of sympathy for them unless they don't know it's there. But considering the buildings are HUGE and brightly lit blue side, and typically in conspicuous spots red side, there's no reason for a player to not know it's there before they get to SOs.

It's far more likely for a player to get to SO range and not know they can buy SOs from stores (I have personally seen this many times in new players, up to and including level 30-something characters subsisting off of drops alone, or even buying TOs from the regular quartermasters redside (that was fun to explain the terribad idea of to that newbie) above DO levels) than it is for the player to not know the market is there.

Grinding for inf? What game are you playing? Almost all my characters have over a million influence by level ten to thirteen, because I sell everything on the market for 15 inf (unless it regularly sells for less than 50 inf, in which case, I vendor it and get more than market price )

By the time I'm ready for SOs, I typically have more than five million inf, which is enough to buy two to four whole sets of SOs (depending on your powers/slotting). Of course, being that I'm not a newbie player, I don't slot SOs, I slot level 25 IOs and then skip the whole "re-enhancing every five levels thing".

Even if I were a newbie player and slotted new SOs every five levels, I shouldn't have any problem since I'm not using my drops, which means the only thing I can do with them is sell them. And selling everything on the market typically nets you far more than is necessary to replenish SOs every five levels.

Note that they're all in ".ogg" format, so if you want them to be otherwise, you'll have to convert them.

PWiki has a more complete file list than was available in the FTP site.
  23. One of the benefits of using IOs is that you don't have to buy new enhancements every five levels. Giving that benefit to SOs makes it less likely that players will experiment with IOs. Players not experimenting with IOs do not learn the awesomeness of sets, set bonuses, frankenslotting, and the market.
