  1. It looks like AlJazeera has stopped significant coverage of the earthquake/aftermath. In looking for a better live source, I was just linked to a ustream livestream of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corp), basically Japan's PBS.

    http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nhk-gtv2

Don't know how long this livestream is going to stay active; ustream feeds tend to be kind of volatile.

I'm going to update the OP with the new links in this thread.

Lucky666, good luck to you and yours. You're in my thoughts.
  2. My heart goes out to anyone in or with loved ones in Japan or the immediate surroundings.

Google has set up a people finder if you are missing a loved one: link
Google crisis response landing page: link
USTREAM live feed of NHK television broadcast: (Japanese) (English)

An awesome link I just found: tri-view

This is three ustream live feeds:
    NHK Japanese (Left)
    NHK World (English) (Middle)
YokosoNews (a guy broadcasting Japanese news and translating it) (Right) -- Occasionally YokosoNews goes quiet as he gathers new story details.

If you know of any other good links, please respond and I'll add them up here in the top post.

Parts of Japan are pretty much completely destroyed. People are in serious danger. If you are capable, Japan really needs your help right now. If you can't go there bodily to assist, consider donating to your favorite disaster relief fund. If you cannot afford to donate, please spread the word as far and wide as you can.

The world isn't so big that you - YOU, READING THIS...YES, YOU - cannot help a country in need. A GLOBAL response is needed.

In the US (participating carriers), you can text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross (to use as they see fit, initially all money goes toward the Sendai earthquake relief, but any excess will go wherever Red Cross chooses). Alternately, anyone in the world can go to their website and donate specifically to their Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund. link

The Japan Society, an American nonprofit, has an online donation option for their earthquake relief fund: link

For the British who wish to help, the Disaster Emergency Committee: link
  3. Almost forgot to let you guys know... I'm taking a break from City (maybe permanently) and so I won't be around to update the FART thread in Player Events. Someone take up the banner! It's a good place to get more people in to vote.

As I said before it's not about making the game easier, it's about making it less annoying. I don't think anyone is going to stop playing if they suddenly stopped missing.
5% chance to miss is per attack, it's not "you are guaranteed to miss 5% of the time".

There are times when you will go an entire mission without missing a single attack. You don't remember these missions do you? No, of course you don't, because this is what you expect to happen.

There are times when the streak breaker has to kick in every ten seconds. You remember these because missing sucks. They stick out in your mind. Your problem is entirely a perception issue.

But if you actually have capped 95% chance to hit on every single one of your attacks, the fact of the matter is, it is damn near impossible to miss as much as you're claiming. Claiming otherwise is called "hyperbole" and is damaging to your side of the discussion.

    But it's looking pretty cool.
Sentry is basically a hero, but has "gone rogue" a few times in the past anyway, according to my trolling of Wikipedia when this thread first popped up. He fights against The Hulk a few times, f'rex.

Juggy: I really like where this is going! One nitpick, the colors are off on the first page: Iron Man is kind of maroon and beige and Sentry is a washed out purplish-blue and beige. Second page nails it though, just need to poke at the colors on the first.
  6. Any content that "requires" Group Fly can be completed with jetpacks. A wall you can't superjump over? Oh well, jetpack (or even GvE jump pack). Infinite "instakill" holes you can only fly across? Oh well, jetpack (or even teleport). Pets can't follow? Oh well, resummon.

So you didn't just make Group Fly required, you just put more emphasis on players purchasing from the Jetpack Vendors.
  7. Discussion thread exists in announcements discussion board.

No, according to SDCC, Praetoria doesn't have War Walls, but it does have zone edges, just like the Rogue Isles doesn't have War Walls but does have zone edges.

    I MUST KNOW!
Those were all items available at the EU store, if you finagled things to be looking at the EU side. Looks like they took out the finagling required to see them.

Nope. The actual description of Player Questions is: "Got a Question? Get an answer! Players helping players find information related to CoH/CoV."

You literally cannot repeatedly miss if you have a 95% chance to hit. The streakbreaker has already been linked upthread. If you miss once, your next chance will be a hit even if your RNG roll is a miss.

You can hit/miss/hit/miss/hit/miss, but that's incredibly rare if you actually do have a 95% chance to hit.

Just FYI, I am still getting occasional timeouts and the occasional "hangs and hangs and hangs and hangs". It's not as bad as it was last night, but I still don't think all the hamsters are running. More are running than were last night, but definitely not all of them.
  15. Twenty eight stickies in the announcements forum... several of which no longer apply (NCsoft account issues, etc.)...

You keep posting things there that don't contain any questions. I think you have a misconceived notion of what this particular subforum is for.

Also, there is a thread that is about this exact same thing, literally on the top of the front page, when you created this thread. Try to consolidate next time.

There wasn't a lot of duplication, though. So I'm not exactly sure what you're on about.

  19. No. If they are not objectives, they just give you little tidbits aside from the main story. If they are objectives, they give you tidbits from the main story. Most clues come together to turn into the souvenir you get when you complete the story arc.

All clues are (or should be) documented at ParagonWiki if you're curious about missing some. Just look up the contact.
  20. I'm fairly impressed there wasn't more duplication. A lot of people when told to dress like superheroes will pretty much all pick from the most popular ones. As far as I can tell, the only duplications I can see are adult Iron Man and kid Iron Man, and the several Super___ (Supergirls, Superman, Super Baby, Superoldman on the right).

I am fond of the dude in the Kick *** costume on the right.
  21. What is this I don't even.
  22. Undock the window. The little circle on the (left?) of the "jelly" part.

edit: Wow. That took, literally, from mere moments after the OP made their post until just now to post. The forums are having some serious brain farts tonight.

    Forums issues

This afternoon, the forums were fine.

This evening, the forums fell off the face of the planet.

Sometime later this evening, the forums came back.

Except someone forgot to kickstart all the hamsters, because I am getting page timeouts like five times more often than usual (and our forums aren't that great to begin with). Sometimes the page just hangs and hangs and hangs and doesn't even get to the timeout until I refresh and it says, "oh yeah! You were trying to do something."

    *annoyed*
  24. I don't think I would find Durakken's version of your comic as dynamically pleasing as one with more flair to it (e.g. basically what you've got going). If I want to think about things between the lines, I'll go read a book; I want my comics to be eye-candy, and then thought about after I've closed the pages.
