Sidenote: But they won't be available when you exemp down to run Moonfire (level 28 max). You need to be within three levels under the IOs to get set bonuses.

Correct, that's Foreshadow, who is the trainer in The Hollows, and also shows up once, villainside, in high level content...I think from one of the Patrons??...don't remember.
  3. For those lamenting plant controllers, there have been changes in i21. Entangle, Strangler, and Roots can now be used on airborne targets. [notes]

The Radio has its arc listed in Ouro under "The Hit List" (Solder: level 1-14).

The Radio's three extra missions that are not in the arc aren't available in Ouro. (No contacts' Flashback content includes one-off missions unless they're badge missions.)

They don’t give you story arcs to run, but you do need to run a mission to unlock their stores.
They are not unlockable contacts. You can walk up to them and get their mission(s). You don't have to do anything special before doing that except "get to X level".

  7. Gameplay video at an awkward angle, showing the warrior dude then the esper then the gunslinger then random stuff.
  8. EVE Online, Anarchy Online, PlanetSide (technically an FPS, but it's an MMO)... is Star Wars Galaxies still around after the update debacle and the upcoming TOR?

For clarification, this is not available on the live servers, only in beta.
  11. I specifically go out of my way to unlock various contacts redside, most notably Buzzsaw because her arc is (arcs are - though in my eyes it's just one arc split for multiple arc rewards) just so damn awesome.
  12. I'm seeing all kinds of status bar icon issues in the last week or two. Started with buffs/debuffs/insps getting the "about to expire dimness" even when they are first applied (for instance, the dinggrats insps all show up at about half opacity like they're about to expire). Got worse from there. Recently I am also seeing phantom icons, or don't see icons that I should.
  13. I know that this may seem like tootling my own horn, since I admin for it, but the ParagonWiki can answer most of your questions here.

http://www.paragonwiki.com or http://wiki.cohtitan.com (some workplaces block one but allow the other!)
  14. This game is stupidly fun. My fiance and I got to demo it at PAX, he managed to finish the intro in under 40 minutes and got a cool medal (I got stuck poking around at my Explorer sidequests and didn't get to finish...got really close but not quite).

The first time I played (Friday), I made the gunslinger and crashed the computer during an avalanche (apparently a common thing). The second time I played (Sunday), I played the Auric Esper, and they had taken the avalanches out of the demo so I got my whole 40 minutes. Super fun. You *CAN* play twitch style (with dodging and all that) - there are very obvious signs when to dodge that even my anti-twitch-gaming self could take advantage of - or you can just stand there like a boss and take the extra damage.

The Esper was super fun. I got to fling around what looked like icy psy blades, it had a "bladestorm" thing that had what looked like a bunch of chakrams (think Xena) that did targeted aoe damage... What's more, it's kind of halfway between City (more realistic) and Champions (crappy cartoons)... the art style is pretty unusual, which I don't normally like but it totally works here.

The Explorer sidequests were AWESOME. I loved that I could go through and ignore the real story with supplemental sidequests. I got a "power" (more like an innate ability) to "find the way" up hillsides and rock faces and stuff in order to plant radio towers and stuff to help my side communicate better.

I signed up for beta even before I got to demo it. It's definitely going to be added to my MMO repertoire when it's out.
  15. Said another way: After you've unlocked them, they're yours to keep, regardless of alignment.
  16. 1. No.
    2. Approximately 40. Some of the contacts are only there to introduce you to other contacts though. (e.g. Provost Marchand and Calvin Scott don't give a lot of their own missions, they supplement other contacts' missions and introduce you to new contacts)
    3. All characters can do all contacts, regardless of alignment. Alignment can change what a character can do within a story arc (tattle-telling, etc.)
    4. You can do them all if you're careful. Some contacts can be removed from the game based on character decisions.
    5. No. Praetoria is not available in Ouro.
    6. There are two Ouros: One is available to Heroes and Vigilantes and one is available to Villains and Rogues. When you side switch, you get access to the other side's version automagically.
    7. Maelstrom and Desdemona actually show up more in Tip missions than Praetoria. Otherwise, there is a ton of Praetorian storyline in the missions in Praetoria.

It says 4x reward merits. The comment made was that for an example, if the first arc awards 20 reward merits, then once per week it will award 80 merits.

Note that the award choice is only offered once per week per character; you can't run it and choose merits, then run it and choose an astral, then run it and choose threads. You run it and choose, then any other times you run it, you don't get the award choice window.

Patron powers have always come with a respec, because you can achieve level 41 before completing the first arc to unlock them, and turning off XP wasn't an option until "recently" (not exactly "recently" NOW, but "more recently than patrons" at least)

They actually specifically said that they fixed PVP and fixed PVP and fixed PVP and fixed PVP and fixed PVP, and it wasn't until very recently (which I take to be within the last month or two, maybe a little more) that they found anything that could satisfy all the issues they saw with PVP. Which I took away to mean "expect something with Issue 23 or so" (because Issue 22 is likely close to finishing touches before alpha testing).

Which can be read three different ways-

    1. He was not mentioning updates to Dark Astoria because of the Halloween update, which may or may not take place in Astoria, and may or may not utilize the Astoria lore ***SPOILER***(they didn't talk much about the actual event other than saying you go to a mad scientist's mansion, battle into the mansion, through the mansion, underneath the mansion, and out into a graveyard where you meet the Abomination)***END SPOILER***

    3. There isn't anything planned for Dark Astoria

Anyway, that's not the point...back to what I was saying...

Anyway, I am updating this web server content. Trying to get it done so I can get to bed and wake up for work in the morning and tell the boss it's all taken care of. BAM! No internet. So I call my ISP to report an outage. After sitting on the phone for 20 minutes or so waiting, I finally get to talk to someone. The conversation went something like this....

Moron: Thank you for calling Crappy Cable, how can I assist you this evening?
Me: Yes, I would like to report an outage.
Moron: Hold on one moment. Can you give your last name, phone number, location, blood type, social security number, mother's maiden name, name of your first pet, the name of the school you first attended, and a promise of the soul of your first born child?
    Me: Done!
Moron: Oh, I see that there is scheduled maintenance in your area.
Me: Scheduled? Well, how come you don't notify your customers of these "scheduled" maintenance times? You know.. the people like me.. the ones who PAY you?
Moron: Oh, well sometimes we schedule them like 15 minutes before we shut everything down, so we don't have time.
    Me: 15 minutes!?!?!?
Moron: Well, sometimes it's more like 5.
    Me: FIVE MINUTES!?!?!?!
    Moron: No, seconds.
    Me: (( Click ))

    I kid you not.

This is NOT a bust on NC Soft or Paragon Studios at all. I know tonight's maintenance was an emergency thing and not scheduled. This morning's was scheduled, and they did actually announce it yesterday.
Comcast scheduled maintenance in my area to coincide with the 800lb Gorilla's last midnight launch for their last expansion. I called them and was like "WTF NO INTERWEBS" and they were like "MAINTENANCE HA HA HA HA" and I was like "do you have NO NERDS AT ALL on your team because WTF TIMING MAN, THE RAEG IS OVERWHELMING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".

And then I went to bed because once it's started you can't really just...stop maintenance and turn everything back on. Well, I mean, you CAN...but weird things happen if you do.
