Peacebringer Masterminds, the ultimate in power proliferation.
And why hasn't the OP replied to anything on this thread? Are they worried that they did not know what they were talking about and don't want to appear dumb to the numerous forum trolls that hide under these boards? -
Why should the devs suppress powers in the mission room of AE? If you want to work on your arc, and don't want the powers and sound effects, go to studio B. That's what it is there for. No one is forcing anyone to work on their arc in the holo room.
Also, if you are THAT annoyed with the number of people in there that have their powers on, try another AE building. I hear there are multiples of them, not just the one in Atlas Park or Mercy Isle. The one in RWZ is relatively quiet most days, and I've been spending a lot of time in the one in Brickstown lately and it is real quiet.
Which bring up another point from another poster, yes, there is an AE in a hazard/co-op zone. RWZ is that zone.
As for Wentworths and the Black Market, I can see how the difficulty would be to suppress powers in those areas. But I myself do not notice much lag when it is busy at WWs and people have their toggles on. And I also have to question just how much time do you need to spend in the consignment places that the powers bother you that much? I think the longest I ever spent in WWs was about 20 minutes while buying recipes and salvage for new ehancements.
I think power suppression is, for what they have now, is working fine now as is. If they implement it in the consignment places, next people will complain that they need power suppression under the Atlas statue or in Grandville under Recluse because they can't travel near those places without being lagged out. -
Why not just change your AV's rank to minion until you are read to publish? This will give you the opportunity to test the text and such without worry of being defeated.

I'm reasonably sure that a large amount of this is possible (just load the info from the character) but not particularly feasible thanks to the additional load time. Depending on how some of the systems are implemented, it may not even be possible for some of those features to operate without being fully logged in (re: friends tab, tickets, merits, etc.).

Agreed. I like the idea, and you did a wonderful job of articulating it through a photo. Much easier than trying to describe it.
But, the downside, as stated above, is that some of that information just may not be available at the character select screen. From experience of working in cross server environments, some information isn't available until you log in to that server. And while they may be able to bring us that information, it could come at a huge overhead to the login portion of the game, not to mention that it could cause lag for those already in game if everyone constantly hit only the login screen just to see what the stats of the character are. -
It can't be that difficult to turn your volume down.
The noise is there for immersion effect. To immerse the player into the game and make them feel like they are actually 'the' hero.
If you want sound effects that are really noisy when you are busy trying to talk to your SG members on a VOIP, try standing inside a portal room in Portal Corp, now that is a loud sound effect. -
Have you tried going into the power suppressed back room? No portal noise, and no player powers to distract and irritate.

I'm glad I found this thread, I had made a mission with the Zig breakout map, and was wondering why I couldn't find the prisoners. I ended making my own, like others had, but kind of bummed me out.
Just wondering, if anyone has a more concrete answer as to why they were removed. I was able to use the contaminated for a mission, and any of my toons I tested it with were auto exemped to level 1. Made for a pretty cool story addition in doing that. -

But I will caution that I am sure someone is going to stumble upon this thread and give all of the negative, technical reasons as to why they think the devs would not be able to do this.
But it would be cool. -

We'll stop seeing the LFF! LFMFF! spam in broadcast on Peregrine/Grandville. The only thing left was getting the 'Farm Meh!' arcs organized in such a way so that people who don't WANT to farm don't have to see them when they do a search for arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
People who don't want to see farm arcs in MA when searching for arcs won't see them, because they won't be searching for 'farm' in their search option.
I know just scrolling through the list will display them, but there are filter options to help avoid that as well.
And if you still see them in MA, and you feel it is truly a farm arc, then report it through the architect interface. It's already been said by the devs that they will bring down any arcs that are geared towards farming. -
I just want to add about the comment of changing zones when the chat is filled with "LFF, lvl 50 LFF". This is a common retort from the religious farmers out there. You say it isn't right for people to challenge your play style, I can empathize with that, I've been seeing a lot of posts recently about farming in game. And that common retort when it comes to the chat always comes up. As farmers, if you think it is unfair for people to think negative of you for farming, then is it not also unfair to tell people to change zones because of the chat chatter? I would think it more unfair to ask people to change zones because of the chat. The people who don't farm have just as much right to be in any zone in the game as the people who farm.
To the nonfarmers, if you do not like the chat filled with "LFF", you can remove the broadcast and request channels from your chat tab. And I know, you shouldn't have to do this because then you can't read those channels and see who is looking for a legitimate team. Maybe someone should suggest a player controlled chat filter from the options menu, where the players can define sets of keyword for the chat client to filter out for them, or the player chat with that keyword in it all together.
As for the rest of this argument, I have no comment. Till Paragon studios and NCSoft say that 'farming' is exploitative and will ban users that are caught doing it, I just say live and let live. You have your play style, and I have mine. -

The addition of MA is great! It now allows the farming toon to create a map that can be ran over and over again, and not worrying if it gets completed or not.
Not only that, but it's not subject to normal TF rules in that you can't invite people once it's started, so it allows me to look for padding/filling at the start of every mission, which brings me to my suggestion . . .
With the addition of the new issue, it seems right to bring this up again, and makes even more sense than before to delve into the spawn system, and allow a second dimension of difficulty rating.
The current challange rating goes from 1 to 5, increasing the levels of the spawns. Add another bar that goes from 1 to 8 which basically will set the size of the spawns. 1 will be equal to a spawn size of a 1 man team, 2 will be equal to a spawn size of a 2 man team, etc . . . up to 8.

Even though there have been numerous responses in this thread about how this change would affect non-farming dynamics of the game, your original post, quoted above, does not mention any of those options. Your original post was for the idea of doing this for farming only.
Had you worded your post to say the positive things that could come of this that didn't affect farming, such as difficulty for teams less than 4, the suggestion of testing MA arcs for spawn size and how they look and react in missions, etc., this topic would not have turned into an anti-farming topic. You probably would have received one or two responses from some that would have suggested the idea could be used for farming, but I think the overall feeling on the idea would have been more accepted.
Instead, there are more responses defending this idea for the sake of farming than there are for the other positives that could come from this idea. And seeing as this topic has been more pointed to farming is why the devs will pass it over and more than likely not have a second look, as I've read multiple threads where people have quoted the devs, in one form or another, having said that they do not agree with the players who prefer farming. -

This was a bad idea the first time it was posted.
This was a bad idea the last time it was posted.
This is still a bad idea.
It will continue to be a bad idea.
Farming throws off the market. It exploits a very small amount of content with low risk/high reward ratio. It annoys people who don't farm or dislike the idea of it when they get tells asking to farm or pad or bridge.
Farming is not suggested by the Devs. Farming is not a well liked practice and, for that reason, the Devs have consistently altered the way things are handled to -avoid- farming.
Asking the Devs to put something in the game solely for the purpose of farming when they have time and again shown that they don't condone the act is a waste of time. I'll be bookmarking this response to copy-paste to all further farming threads.

I agree with you, Rachel. I've known a lot of people that have held on to missions to farm them, strictly for the salvage drops they can get that go for millions of inf on the market. If this is allowed to continue, those of us who refuse to farm aren't going to be able to list that rare salvage for as much on the market because it was farmed into ruination.
And to give an example of the way the devs have fought against farming, for those who don't know, both the Dreck mission and the all wolf mission were changed to timed missions to keep people from farming them.
I can see where everyone is making their point about how this change can be good because the tells and spam for farms will go down, or the difficulty for teams of 4 or less will be greater, but let's not forget that the whole point the OP started this thread was for farming. And as I stated before, please stop asking the devs to make farming easier for you, they aren't going to do it, and if you continue to farm, for any reason, you are going to ruin so many aspects of this game that I truly enjoy. -

When the game you enjoy farming in so much is finished because the only people left playing it are farmers, and the devs no longer have a reason to create new content because no one is playing it, what will you do? Find another game to farm into oblivion?
Please, stop asking for farming to be made easier for you. There is still a lot of us that like to play the new content as it is released. -

That would be awesome, it could be adorned with inspirations, and salvage, and enhancements, hanging off of the walls, and the ticket vendor can look all disgruntled like they do at Chuck E. Cheese when your kid can't make up their mind what to get with their last 2 tickets, gum or tootsie roll.
