  1. C is just too bland and plain! A is nice, but B gets my vote!
  2. I got the same thing (twice) - King's Row Bank Protection mish (once from King's Row Detective, once from Steel Canyon Detective) - "Ghost" bank robbers (floating moneybags and weapons) + NO timer, and NO side-events.

Also - no area effect attacks or pets so I can't take em out that way.

I bugged it in-game. Gonna leave em until I hear something.

(I also logged out and back in to see if that fixed it - just reset to beginning and did the same thing.)
  3. Ya know, I don't often dig the Demo-recorded music vids I see, but --

BRUTHA! Dis one's da Bomb! (I mean, its great, I love it! )

    Tattoo help

tho not really Super Hero themed, there's some nifty tattoo ideas in a "Speedpainting" thread over on threedy.com:

    SPEEDPAINTING CHALLENGE nr. 17!

    http://threedy.com/site/forum/showthread.php?t=28114
  5. late to the thread, but here's an anecdote: many years ago I worked as a "technical illustrator" (really just a basic drafting job, retouching old schematics mostly) and we used Electric Erasers. These were bigger than the little battery-powered ones you can get now, and they had an AC power cord attached. Picture something metal, about two inches in diameter, with a moter the size of a half-used roll of Duct Tape at its back end. You had a tall, springey boom attached to your desk that both held the ac cord out of the way and suspended the eraser's weight so it wouldn't feel like you weren't holding this BRICK in your hand. I kid you not.

Eventually, just as I was ending my stay at that job, they came out with newer, spiffier cordless, rechargable ones. These were about two inches wide, but more like three and half inches thick, by eight inches long, housed in a plastic case and about one-third the weight. Still bulky by today's standards.

    - but for that job, they were indespensible! We did a lot of erasing old inked lines (originally drawn with rapidograph pens on vellum). Imagine erasing inked lines "manually" by rubbing with an eraser back and forth with your hand! You can do it, sure - your shoulders'd be gone in a week!

Nowadays, it'd all be done with computers.

Because we have forums that are devided up for the ease of us of everyone who posts. This thread should be in the Comic Culture section...where there are actually several BSG threads. Now, I don't really care that much, but it does make for a more cluttered forum. When I want to read about something like this I look in another section. When I want to read about art I look in this section. That having been said, I am just suprised that it hasn't been moderated as they usually delete posts like this. That's all I am saying.

    *shrug*

I tend to agree with Katfood on this. Not out of hatered, just because it contributes toward an art forum cluttered with non-art threads.
  7. Yeah - I saw that video yesterday. Was thinking: "Okay, make-up and hairstyling, pretty standard for a model shoot."

Then we jump to Photoshop. -and they begin actually moving her features around! Thats where it becomes surreal. but, c'mon - the whole thrust of advertising is to make us see ourselves as deficient, as unsatisfactory - and then there's the advertiser right there with just the product that can make us a better person. We do this to ourselves.

Honesty left the building a long time ago.

um. er - hey! They used Photoshop there! um, some of us artists here use photoshop in their art, too! (see - its sorta topical! )

Sorry guys. I am having some serious RL problems right now and my running list of sketches is going to be very much delayed.

    sorry.

    Movies?

take a look at another thread titled: "Am I in the right thread?" by member "bodenee1" - who basically asked the same thing - already answers in there about creating movies with Demo Recording andsuch.
  13. On a slightly side note - regarding getting all your toons actually into the same supergroup - I've heard that what you can do is:

    1) create a supergroup with one of your characters
    2) get a good friend who plays & invite them into the group
    3) have the friend invite your OTHER characters into the group
    4) then (if your friend doesn't also want to be in the group) your friend can quit.

You STILL can't play all your characters at once, but thye'd at least really all be members of the same SuperGroup.

I don't get how that 'Angelic' costume is angelic.

Funny, Jay and I have a similar idea of what is "angelic."

I did nearly the same costume suggestion

Now, if we could actually get costume parts that glowed like your angelic pic (on the left) - THAT would rock!
  16. (hmmm, was sure I had already posted this)

Its just that, basically, the screenshots depict a lot of chatting by the original poster and his friends jerkin some poor smuck's chain around in-game and laughing themselves silly over it. and apparently, I'm not the only person who doesn't see any of the humor in this. So, yeah - sarcasm ensued.
  17. recently, I found a couple of other sources:

the Comic Art Community has an auction section, and there's always someone on there offering commissions

    http://www.comicartcommunity.com/

    and this guy:

    http://www.sbollin.com/index.html

    and this guy:

    http://www.davidenciso.com/

and these guys (beware, site has pop-ups):

    http://www.d9arts.cjb.net/

    and this guy:

    Hope those help!
  18. so, um, when, exactly, is this supposed to get funny?
  19. Very, very, very, very niiiiice!

Those're bloody wing-sumps, aren't they? And I think thats a very fine axe, as it is.

Looking forward to the finished piece.
  20. quick answer: IF and only if, asked politely first - then I would most likely be willing.

longer answer: it might depend a bit on the art piece -- how happy am I with the finished piece? How much did I struggle with the piece along the way? Was there some really embarrassing mid-point in the piiece that I came to and wasted hours and hours on, but makes me look like a complete hack? --But, in general, I like to see the "process" because I am an artist. And animated/time-lapsed photographic show of from start to finish would be a gas.

-- BUT! I bloody well better be asked for permission first! I'd go ballistic if someone posted such a thing withOUT my prior consnt.

That's too bad. But anybody can still "participate" in the privacy of their own home (altho - that aint as much fun as being in a group of like minders, all slowly degenerating into sleepless pictoral insanity)
  22. Hey, October 7th, the "official" 24-hour Comic Day event is comin' up. I was wondering if anybody here was going to participate.

    http://24hourcomics.com/

I'm signed up at a place not too far away from me, but I've apparently come down with the über-cold, and am worried I won't get over it in time (on three 6-sided dice, my constitution score is 2). I know, convenient excuse

But since this is a artist's section, of people who play a comicbook superhero based MMO, I figured there might be others out there who were going to try it?

Hmmm, but if what you're asking for is change, isn't Tzeench the Chaos Power to call?

(and, on a side note, does anybody remember that one-shot City Of Heroes comic that came before even the Blue King run? It may have only been a downloadable (as separate PDF pages, if I remember correctly!) comic. It had the new hero showing up on the tram, and waltzing into a Trial zone, and Statesman eventually joined in and they did one of those multiple bomb disarming missions? I rather liked it.
