Quote:hahahahahahahaZenlon, folks! Give him a big hand! He'll be doing his achy-breaky butt routine until the end of the week! Now that's a classy act!
Don't forget to tip your server, and try the veal. (If you tip enough Zenlon will be the veal.)
I like this guy a lot. -
I am curious - what's the big woop? This thread is for the most part a joke, a counter "goodbye, you rule" Lloyd thread - I am not being 100% serious here, folks. :P

With four days left, I feel like I never got the chance to say this.
I never liked you. I think you abused your power a lot. It was very rare that you were ever helpful. You generic'd my toons - a lot (and followed the generics up with meaningless costume wipes)
You were the guy that'd make me and an entire team restart a whole Task Force when an objective was bugged, rather to completing the mission for me.
I am not sure why so many users have found you to be helpful, nice and polite, but it is to my regret I must say the opposite.
With four days left, I felt I could share this. I actually never had any trouble with any of NCsoft's support - other than you (who I just so happened to be stuck with more than half the time)
So, here's to you, Lloyd. -
Quote:And it is with hope, that door will open once again one day! I will be updating this post throughout the week until the end with memorable moments I've had throughout the years. The door that connects our world to theirs will be lost, but our characters will live on.
I encourage all others to do so as well. -
My dearest allies and enemies,
As the imminent storm approaches, I would like to say a few words. As a super-human being, I have put aside my faction to coincide forces with those I'd never drempt of having an alliance with over the years. It was always my hope I would one day stand beside Lord Recluse as Paragon City and the rest of the world was left in ruins and decay - for the assurance of Lord Recluse's final overtake, I joined forces with heroes and others to battle Rikti, enemies from other dimensions, and many other threats to 'our' Earth. My hand is given to Arachos. I am with great sadness to say, this day will not come so soon or easy - yet.
I am aware this is premature, but, 'there is no better time than the present'.
It is with nothing but disappointment and sadness that I apologize for all the things left unfinished for you, and all of us. I am with great hope and belief that one day, we will all meet again and our unfinished business, heroes and villains alike will finally be set back on course. I, forever look forward to this day.
Forever and always,
Siren's Call General, "Annihilius"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I felt the need to express the way I feel about all of this through the eyes of my favorite character. As we begin the countdown, I want to remind you all this is not goodbye. Not the end of our characters, their stories or City of Heroes.
I strongly believe some day, we will see each other in the City once again.
I will be playing a lot these last 9 days we have, and I hope to see many of you in-game for these last few, precious days.
Thank you all for always being there, being the best community I've ever met and being so beyond amazing to associate with and know. You have all made a very major impact in my life.
Play on 'til the lights go out,
Damien, aka @Annihilius -

I disagree entirely.
MA added a lot to the game. From allowing players to expand their creativity to even drawing attention from major authors IRL.
Much like base editing, collecting and altaholicing - some players found this to be their cup of tea, including me.
It allowed players to enjoy new content and create their own. Not everyone was as excited as others, but, in no way did Mission Architect entirely contribute to the "downfall" of COH.
My opinion. -
Quote:What was your toon's name, Aeon? I have quite a recollection of these events.A long time ago, I would PvP a lot in Warburg and Recluse's Victory; something which I hope people remember the good things (being good) and not the bad things (getting angry at losing/other people). The following is either an exact retelling of that memory or the story shifting so dramatically that it sounds amazing when it actually wasn't.
I would do 1 on 1's with other people in Recluse's Victory on my EM/FA brute, back when energy transfer was really over-powered. I forgot who they were, but there was about three or four heroes who wanted to do a consecutive 1 on 1 with me, where as soon as one of them was defeated, another would jump in to fight me.
I managed to take all of them without even having to use Rise of the Phoenix. The best part was the last guy I fought, who was a something/regen scrapper. I already had full fury (uh oh) but I knew as soon as he got near 50% health he would pop dull pain, instant healing, etc. So I wittled him down to near 75% health, crossed my fingers and hit build up and fiery embrace
(back when fiery embrace added +damage) and WHAM'ed him with energy transfer, taking him down.
I thought it was so amazing that I had defeated all 4 of those guys on a build that had no unstoppable tier 9. I immediately thanked them on broadcast for the fun times and logged out so the moment couldn't be taken away from me. -
1317.
I not 'really done' - but I have some note worthy badges I know yall would smile about.
Bug Hunter
Spider's Kiss
Blood Letter
Mirage
The Stinger
(All four villain patron badges, bug hunter)
I'll try to score as many more badges as I can before the game ends. -
Amen.

Thinking you guys are going way overboard with how fast you're pouring the "exclusive" costume codes onto the market. At least give the people who -went- to the events and busted their butts to get their hands on the ACTUAL versions something to buy too! Put up some Halloween codes or something!
/e: And add an expiration on these things

Loving these.

Thank you all for the entries! We're in the midst of finding a new author to advertise this upcoming week.
Announcements will be made! -

That's right. Calling all old base salvage hoarders, check your bases and old toons! I'm offering 1,000,000,000 (one-billion) influence for the base-salvage, "R'yleh's Rain"
If you have this piece, please PM, post or easiest, contact me in-game @Annihilius so we may make an exchange.
Help me complete my collection!

Okies - so, I'm working on a 53 Hami-O collection.
I have every single one with the exception of a 53 Enzyme Exposure and a 53 Membrane exposure.
I have a couple duplicates. (Dmg/Acc, Cyto, Lyso)
I'm willing to trade my Cytoskeleton (53) for either a (53) Enzyme Exposure, a (53) Membrane Exposure or, I may consider 3.5-4.5bil as an offer to purchase it.

Quote:I disagree!I still think it would be nice if they actually may some of the +res bonuses just a BIT more realistic. Especially when they are usually just one or two types, were Def always gets Pos and Typed.
At the very least, add a second +res proc, or change the pvp one to 6%.
Having a /regen stalker with over 46% Smash/Lethal resistance from collecting the current +Resistance bonuses available- I say this is a -terrible- idea. In i24, I'm looking at already benefiting at least another 10% bringing me to 55-60% if this is all as great as it sounds. -
Quote:I applaud this post.. Hopefully things aren't exactly as we see them now - all amazing points and I hope this isn't disregarded. Especially with how hard they worked to exclude Statesman from the game for the whole "many plots contradicting one another".I hope to Rularru that Marauder isn't a new Atlas trainer. I can see it now...
New player: "Okay, doing the tutorial... Ok, gotta help Stripper Psyche and Back Alley Brawler. Ok, cool...
"I'm done, gotta level up! OH! Looks like Back Alley brawler got some new gear, I- wait, "Marauder"? Is he Back Alley's twin or clone or (reads contact info) Ah. Alternate-universe counterpart. Okay, guess that's cool..."
40+ levels later: "Praetorian invasion, huh? Cool, I... wait, why is the guy who trained me for five levels attacking the city?! Why is he attacking ME?!"
Level 50: "Alright, Incarnate powe- Marauder again?! I JUST leveled up with him! Why do I have to fight him now?! If he's a bad guy, why the heck have we been trusting him to train new heroes?!"
Finally, our not-so-new friend figures it out....
"Okay, so, before I started playing, Marauder was a bad guy, who became good, and so he's a trainer in AP even though (and because...?) that happens AFTER i supposedly beat him up several times 49 levels after he started training me... /brain"
In other words, having Marauder as the AP trainer is going to severely conflict with new characters' personal canons.
If you want to use Phasing tech, that's... still not acceptable, because Matty Hashabey's (sp) wife standing next to him is one thing, but my character seeing a bunch of new heroes training with Marauder while THEY see BABs isn't conducive to inter-character continuity. Can you imagine a Ritki raid or costume contest announcement? "Attention all heroes! Gather around Marauder!" (30 other characters who are under level 50: "Who's Marauder?! Where is he?"). Guh! Have him replace the RWZ trainer, or Castle... someone high-level where it's not gong to completely clash with everyone else's personal canon!
Look, I have no distaste for the Praetorians. I think they're cool. And the idea of the Signature characters being phase-replaced by their praet counterparts seems to have some merit... but overall, I don't think it's an idea worth pursuing.
Hopefully I'm getting worked up over nothing >_> -
Quote:You've got me all glee-ful.Actually, I think I can talk about this. What were previously +Immob, Hold, Sleep, Stun, etc. Resist have been changed to be +Res Fire/Cold, Lethal/Smash, Energy/Negative energy and resistance to all common statuses. So basically you get a small amount of +damage resist to 2 types and +status resistance.
Also, all old damage resistance set bonuses have been improved to work this way too.
Synapse
edit#2: Seriously though - this is -fantastic- news.
I've always hoped these things would be modified to grant more use -
however, I'm curious - what will you do with the +All Status Resistance bonuses?
Will these be changed to +All Resist? What about the Impervious Skin: +7.5% Status Resistance proc? Will this add actual resistance as well? -
Quote:I'd like more info on this.. Never heard of it happening before.I can't say for certain that is related, but just the other day on Virtue server, I was flying around in northern Peregrine Island when I saw a line of Arachnos Fliers headed in towards the coast by Portal Court. There were at least 6 (I didn't go along the line to count how many for certain), they were able to be targeted & destroyed, and they did not fight back.
That makes me wonder if it was a bad coding that slipped in ahead of time, or just the Devs checking to see if anyone was paying attention. But as a possible "source of invasion troops" I think this is a good sign.
However I have to wonder...is the 3 hours on Virtue simply when to expect Mako himself, or is the entire invasion confined to just those 3 hours? I sure hope not! -
I am *so* excited for this event. I love in-game dev participations and other goodies!
