Had the same issue as well, kinda sucks
  2. I mean honestly this is the second time today that this has happened, and nothing has been said about what is wrong with the servers. What is wrong with this picture?
  3. I blame the gulf oil spill, lol
  4. Really? I mean not to be rude but why is this happening a lot more then when the game started? Oh well, guess I will just go do something else for a while

Many vendors will link hot buttons or function key assignments to the graphics driver input settings, so that you can do things like adjust the brightness of the display. These advanced features may, or may not function with the reference driver provided by the manufacturer.

Now, I'm not entirely familiar with what Toshiba does with their drivers, I don't know if they make any specific modifications, but maybe this will help explain why they say "don't change the drivers."
Well personally I rather not break my computer in order to play this game. The reason why it is better to get a driver from your manufacture rather then the actually company is that many times they modfiy the drivers to better fit your system. Getting a generic update from a company such as Intel can break your system, and doing so will void the warrinety on the computer, leaving you out of luck. And yes anything will break your system, if you don't know what you are doing.

Because you have a Toshiba, you'll have to do this: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm to get them to work.
I tried that, would not even install it saying I have to obtain the version from Toshiba. Which it even says on intel's website to always use the manufactures drivers not theirs. So that didn't help

Thats actually not correct, if you got to the manufacture's website(mine happens to be Toshiba) they say that it is not reccommened to update drivers of different operating systems, with other drivers that were not preinstalled on your laptop. They even reccommend not to install windows seven drivers, to a windows vista laptop. Personally this may fix my problem but I am not going to do something that is not reccomended by my manufacture's since it may potiental break my system

Because what you're experiencing is *not* what everyone else is experiencing. If it was all a problem of CoH coding, everyone would have the same problem, and they don't.

The huge difference between machines besides the usual suspects of hardware configurations and drivers is all the other background programs, and you've got a truckload of them, which is always recommended against by everyone remotely connected and in-the-know with regard to running any highly graphical intensive programs on a computer. CoH's own minimum requirements don't have an footnote that says, "Including machines that run 40 processes running in the background." And if you have 40 processes running the background and CoH won't work for you, you can't say, "It's all CoH's fault," without first taking them out of the equation.

And the next line in this argument is likely to be, "But I had these 40 processes running before this patch!" And the answer to that is, "You were lucky." There's no assurance that CoH will run concurrently with any other process that's not needed for the operating system or for the game itself.

And if it's discovered that the new coding in this patch conflicts with something running in the background, then who's fault is that? Did the CoH Devs do something wrong, or is it the fault of the programmers of that other process who have faulty code, only there just never happened to be a conflict beforehand?

It's well known that some of the graphical problems are on the side of the GPU manufacturers and faulty drivers. It's why driver updates sometimes clears up problems... it wasn't CoH's fault at all. If in a new patch, the code makes a call to a graphical FX that's supposed to be there, but the driver's coding is screwed up and doesn't handle it right, it would seem that the new patch is at fault, when, in fact, it's the driver's manufacturer's fault.

We've already discovered software conflicts with I17: ATI Hotkey Poller; MSE; and some others. It's anyone's guess which programs are the one making the illegal codes at this point.

If you don't want to try to see if it's a software conflict, then you're the one who may never have CoH ever playing right on your computer again.
To be honest NordBlast is correct in pointing out the false statement that the devs said about not effecting the players game with ultra mode. The drivers for intel, to my knowledge where working perfectly fine until this patch. Meaning that the patch itself changed something so that the majority of intel users cannot play anymore. This statement is proven by the number of fourm post that were posted all claming issues and 90 percent of them had a intel driver. See I am no computer junkie, but this seems like pretty soild truth to what NordBlast was saying. Yes some people need to update thier drivers but the issues is the majorty of people that were playing this game before the patch, cannot anymore and where promised that nothing would happen to people's ability to play the game. That is the issue at hand, and the devs need to understand this and fix this.
  11. I am having the same issue, with the same system and Intel graphics cards. A lot of people say that we need to update our drivers but a lot of drivers are for windows seven, and for us that still use vista, we cannot use windows seven drivers. So we are out of luck until somebody finds a soulution
  12. Can you send me a link to that? because on the toshiba website I have the lastest drivers
  13. I have the same issue and what the basicly told me after a day of back and forth emails with tech support was to upgrade my drivers, which I cannot do becuase they are already the lastest drivers. So basicly anybody that has intel cannot play this game until the fix the patch
  14. Yeah all I do is play for like 5 mintues with ridiclous lag then crash. I've been in contact with tech support but they just sent me a generic what they think fixies everything message and I responded back saying that it didn't fix and they have't sent a responce back for 6 hours. Not to impressed with the tech support of this company so far
  15. Do not get a new computer, wait until they fix the patch that happened today because a lot of people are in the same situation as you right now
  16. So last night I was playing the game perfectly fine and now after the patch the game lags so much that when I ask for the fps, it says I have 0 fps, which is werid. Here is my specs:

After I looked at this data and other fourms post I am seeing a connection with crashing games after the patch with the following specs (only a few of the ones I could find):
    Toshiba laptops
    Intel Dual Core Processors
Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

If anybody else is experiancing this issue or know a soluation, please post. Thank you

I have the same laptop and even I tried save mode and still crashed. Something in this patch messed things up big time
  18. Getting the same thing, I was playing fine last night but now I am crashing constently. I have the lastest drivers and everything so its not that. Is your computer happen to be a Toshiba by any chance?

edit: did not read all the info, it is not a Toshiba, lol

I have same thing, same computer and same graphics cards. I was playing perfectly fine last night, but now I cannot play without getting ridiculous lag followed by the inevitable crash. I personally think they messed something up with this patch because I keep my system updated constantly so I don’t think there is anything wrong with the game. My sister’s older laptop plays perfectly fine after the patch with no lag issues what so ever. So I am willing to bet that the patch caused something to fail.
