Hmm.. an interesting read, but (regardless of what devs designed it for) I always saw the pairup as follows:
Blaster:Corruptor
Defender: Dominator
Controller:Mastermind
Tanker:Brute
Scapper:Stalker
That's how I always saw the counterpart system honestly. -
Quote:There is tech in-game that already exists: Warburg Scientists. You can pick up and drop them simply by clicking on them. Not sure how much work would be involved in porting that over for an active healthbar escort but it's possible.
Honestly, the WB Scientists are the only valid reason escorts should be used. (This is my personal oppinion.) It's a PvP zone, and as such, the escort function makes it's VERY annoying & challenging to get the reward of the WB nuke.
On the other hand, it's stupid and frustrating. I can't tell you how many times (I'm an MM so I love this power.) I've been grinding to get the Mutagen Nuke in WB, only to be backstabbed by a Stalker after having to clear endless rooms of stupid arachnoids/other rogue crap, and lose everything that I just worked for.
Ahem... that was a little off topic.. my apologies. -

Villain Tip: Less time talking, more time destroying your nemesis.

Pass.. soooo tempting, but i'm trying to lose weight

Bad Idea: Taking that break while you're the primary heale0 or Tanker in an active TF.
Good Idea: Being genuinely helpful in the help chat. -

I just recently got my first charactor (old charactor, pre incarnate) to level 50. Started the incarnate thing, unlocked alpha slot. Took 20 minutes to figure out how to use the incarnate slots and how to earn what's required to do use the slots.
Went to pocket D, waited an hour for a group, joined a Lamda group. First time doing an incarnate trial, just followed along and did my best to support the group. By the time we clear the field and go to grab the grenades and acid half the league has left.. so they rush through the mobs to grabs the supplies.
I'm left wondering what the heck to do, attempt to follow through the base, get ambushed and rofled.
AV shows up, everyone starts fighting, I'm dieing.. a lot.. have no clue what the hell is going on, meanwhile everyone is yelling for people to get grenades to beat him.
Still confused, asking what to do.. getting yelled at, getting flamed for being a "noob", and the party scratches the entire trial.
So, 45 minutes of random stuff that I have no clue about what's going on, and what did I gain from it? I still don't know.. 2 empyrean merits.. oh boy.. what else? no one has the common courtesy to help me.
Honestly, I'm half tempted just to work on other toons and say screw it to the "uber godlike" incarnate BS.
The entire incarnate trial system leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and still, no one is willing to sit down and tell me what is going on. -
Why do the lasers from MM clanker bots shoot 100 yards, through walls, enemies, and connect with other mobs without aggroing them or dealing damage to them?

Quote:Yeah, it never happened with xp for me either. The Snipping Tool found in Vista and 7 works very well for doing screenshots in game as well.
I haven't seen the cached image using the Print Screen key in XP, but have in Vista and 7. I seldom do screenshots using the /screenshot command, so that may not get the same result. I'm in the process of working on a computer that doesn't have CoH installed (and I'm not installing it on someone else's computer without permission) so I can't test this right now. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to test it.
Of course, the Vista and 7 computers had beefier video cards with more graphics memory as well. It could be an issue with video cards with larger memory capabilities rather than an OS specific issue. Since I don't have a beefier video card to put in an XP machine to test with or a wimpy card to put in the Vista or 7 machines, I can't tell if this is where the problem is or not.
I also notice a cached image right before i exit the game as well. -
This sounds pretty cool!
I've never actually entered into any of these contests, but the ability to be able to show off my toon and explain his concept/backstory is exactly what (imo) lacks in CCs... I hope I have time to enter. -
Quote:League of Extraordinary Gentlemen shows him wearing that disguise(invisible man)... and you're right, very similarif you want good pic editing software - go for GIMP. It's completely free and almost as versatile as Photoshop.
Not sure it includes spare feet if you ever need them.
I can't recall the movie it was so long ago since I seen it but I seem to recall thinking it's effectivel the same disguise as the Invisible Man wore in H.G. Well's novel.
Sometimes it takes a picture of something in the memory cache as another poster stated. It's an odd occurence, and only seems to happen to me with CoX -
Quote:Don't suppose you had a Clanker Bot MM in that party by chance? The zombies appear to run right toward the AV on their own anyway, if they don't spawn close enough to the player who trigger their appearance, so no pulling to him is really required, although it's still better to just have the non-tanking players kill them as they appeared.
I actually got this badge my very first run through the trial, with 3 random players. They all wanted the badge and I was the only tank on the team, so I naturally went the AV and kept him busy and they ran around to kill the zombies. It went pretty easily, actually. -
Quote:Yeah, that was the biggest challenge; finding something that was relatively close to looking like it since there is no bandaged face option.we should have a bandaged head option, not sure why we were never given mummy options :/ and as a cape option, could have hanging bandaged
Graphical map clipping glitch.. game related.
EDIT: Also wouldn't mind the duster sub option in the trenchcoat section. -
Quote:Haha, if allowed I'd give you an example that would make this look like a sanctuary.I've noticed that people are getting more abusive on the forums as well, usually around hot topics like farming, PLing, and changes to existing parts of the game. By and large, however, this is probably the friendliest and most helpful gaming community I've been a part of.

Yeah, that's 3 screenshots terribly pasted.
For some reason it's a little odd to take a screenshot in game using the copy and paste method. Often times it takes a screenshot of a screen that I was on minutes before. Really odd.
Strike one up to laziness I suppose for not cropping out the old pastes. -
Quote:Thanks for the replies guys.
Judging from the responses, I am going to consider my quoted paragraph to be the reality of the situation.
I have to ask though, Rapthorne... Several hundred mmorpgs?
It wasn't the invention system. I only noticed an influx of immaturity since the AE system was implemented. This I would show being the very fact that the AE system has little use of what it was originally intended for. Now, they've limited it's ability to gain experience a lot, but it's still used to farm and powerlevel.
Combine that with Sewer trial and others like it that allow for quick leveling, and the players completely skip out on the missions that were designed to give some story, background, and help to the players while they progressed through them and levels.
The real question- how many players with 50+ toons actually have at least 1 toon that never touched any method of powerleveling? That number is decreasing day-by-day.
Now, I'll admit that I troll like crazy in the help chat channel, but rest assurred: my ambitions, like every other "vet" (meaning long time player) in the help channel does not typically extend to decent players, but rather to the hostile ones.

Last week I had the oppurtunity to watch Dark Man again after a long time. I always remembered it as a pretty awesome movie, although I never read the comic books.
With that being said, the thought "Hey, let's try and remake him in Co-!"
So, after hours of figuring out that I can't completely recreate him look for look, this is what I came up with.
He's a Scrapper Street Justice/Willpower.
What do you think?
