  1. Well done, a touching and poignant tribute.

My thoughts exactly. The comic header he grabbed was so on track as well...

    Thank you for posting this.
You're very welcome. This one had such a unique viewpoint and was so well written, I had to make sure others saw it.
  3. And I'm puuussshing this back to the top. It's important enuff for you to read.

    Trust me.
  4. I found this article while surfing Bing and Google for news on CoH. It really addresses the "x-factor" of CoH, the community and the reason we fight so hard to keep it around.

  5. Unless I've missed something on the interwebs NS Soft hasn't made any response to the fact that CoH is recv'ing more coverage on the mmo and gaming websites than it has in years as a result of the community's attempts to save the game. Anyone hear anything?
  6. I can remember how there was always whispers that you never knew if you could be playing with a Dev or not. I guess I never considered Tic a Dev as he was so well known and respected in the player community at large.

Not that Dev's can't be respected, er, ummm...what I mean to say is...
  7. OK, so I am obviously slow on the uptake, but I just want to make sure I got this right.

Tic-Toc the tank from Tempest Legion (that I actually joined briefly during my CoH tenure) was in fact Back Alley Brawler from the Dev team?

    Seriously?

    Of all the...

Well he was a great tank and his toon was awesome lookin.

    But seriously...

I actually logged game time with a Dev team member and never knew it.

    SERIOUSLY!?!

    Penny Arcade

I forwarded some links and Xenophage's cool Save our Ciry banner to the fellows at Penny Arcade. What the hell, can't hurt. Will update if I get a response. Maybe Gabe will go on one of his rants...

If that doesn't work maybe an e-mail to Anonymous.

    Just sayin'.

    Convenient

OMG ConFlict I didn't think you were around anymore. Not sure if you're on my Global anymore, but still have Con Flict on my Server friends list. It's been years since we last teamed (shortly after CoV launch), but I've always remembered the fun times we had during our team-ups . Good to hear from you and hope to see you before the final curtain.
  10. I have a SJ/WP Scrapper that I would like to take as far as I can. I was "saving" this one for a bit later as I beefed up mu incarnate powers on my 50's...so much for that idea. So I'll be jumping in whereever/whenever I can. Will probably log in as my main that last night as he was my first toon and my first 50.
  11. While I have never been particularly active on the forums, I have been here since the start. To say I'm going to miss the game and the members of the Justice community I've shared so many good times with is an understatement. Thanks to the Dev's and those that have kept the game going for so long. It's going to be hard to find a replacement...

I wish all of you the best life can offer.

To paraphrase Mr. Bowie, We could be heroes...if just for one day.

    Good bye CoH Justice
  12. I've signed as well.

This reminds me of back when Marvel was trying to issue a cease and desist to NC Soft for copyright infringment...I was mad as hell then too.

I don't know if I'd call it fanatical, but I have to admit, I started on Justice, made a few alts on other servers, but always feel more "comfortable" when I'm "home". I've never had any problem finding teams or running TF/Trials, and I recognize the names, and as another poster mentioned know the "vibe" of the server. That and the attachment I have for my original toons. Kinda like those multiverse comic story lines, the characters are always wanting to get back to their "Earth" where everything makes sense in it's own special way.

I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it. All-in-all though it wasn't much worse than when people "left" their higher lvl ambushes in lower level zones.

It's interesting that so many of you have at least been aware of the unique atmosphere CoX has. It would be fun to know if this was a deliberate design concept or a happy accident. Either way, I wouldn't change a thing.

That's exactly what I find to be true of CoX in all my years of playing it.
  16. Ever since TA/Archery was introduced there have been multiple requests for Quivers! I mean really? The Tsoo have ‘em!

Would love to see additional tactical webbing/equipment belts (like the police belt) and pads – ie knee/elbow pads.

Native American (as already requested) including pants with/without loin cloth.

Tabards (I mean come on we have all the medieval armor floating around).

Would like to see the beards match into existing hair styles (ie sideburns).
  17. I have a question I'd like to post to the CoH/CoV community at large based on my personal observations while playing the game from Beta to Freedom. Being an old school online multiplayer game enthusiast from way back (remember MPlayer and the Zone?) I’ve had quite some time to observe player to player interactions in a multitude of settings. I played CoH from pre-release to +3 yrs before leaving for a stent on WoW and returning to CoH a few months ago. The one thing that stands out to me about the CoH player community is that overall it’s the friendliest, most polite group I’ve ever gamed with. Nerd Rage is uncommon, Rage Quit is rare, people use words like Please and Thank You…

    Why?

Is it because of the fact that we are for the most part playing “heroes” and our behavior is molded by the gestalt of the heroic mindset?

Are CoH players older/more mature? The average age of a video game player is mid-thirties, surely we’re not all over the hill. And the faces on CoH faces appear to represent a wide age group.

Are the GM’s stricter on controlling chat channels? Definitely no “Barrens Chat” in CoH, but that doesn’t explain the overall cooperative approach on mission teams etc. that are out of sight of GM’s.

Anyway, I was just curious to see if others of you observed thae same overall phenomenon that is the CoH/CoV community.
  18. D'oh don't know why I thought it took a Def Debuff set. So basically it draws down to Def or Melee set, although from what I'm hearing a combination of both works best. So in answer to my original question, there doesn't appear to be an IO set that fits this power...
  19. That's the weird thing about this power. It will take a Def, Def DeBuff or Melle IO Set. I was leaning toward Analyze Weakness as it has Acc buff, but keep coming back to the "frankenslot" approach.
  20. Has anyone found an IO set that fits Parry? I've played with a couple but am starting to wonder if a couple Accuracy and a couple of Def might not be best way to go.
