Hey Sar,
Add CT to the list please mate
Captain Tempest - Blaster - Energy/Energy/Force
Cheers -
I use a series of .txt files that start with "Getting ready to go nova in ..." and then a count down from 5 to 1 with power exec commands for Aim and Build Up along the way. After the blast, my final message is " ... and I'm spent! All END donations gratefully received"
The only time this failed me was when running in under my own Invisibilty rather than Granted Invis and failing to drop the toggle before the Nova should have kicked in
Luckily for me it was my usual team, so the following faceplants were not moaned about for too long -
Never good to have a sick PC - hope it gets well soon Lode

Actually, can't make it now - going out for a RL drink with Bloody Torso, Jane Do and a few other non CoH players. now if only us 3 hero-types can remember to leave our spandex at home :P
Good luck to all of you going for it -
Nice one MB

I think that is another villain -
I blocked Arena chat not long after the launch of the Arena feature and Broadcast followed soon after, mainly for the reasons listed above by other people.
I have a core group I tend to team with, although when I pushed my main to 50 I met a number of other good players in pick up groups.
The point of this post is that I've probably missed out on the wider community due to shuting down channels to filter out the "noise". I only usually switch broadcast back on to send Gratz when someone I know has hit lvl 50 and we "do the Atlas thing" but it should be a resource for all people to get into the extended community and not something that is filtered out due to griefers.
IRL I work with telesales agents and I have a young child, so on both a work and home front I understand attention seeking If you ignore it, it usually gets more intense for a while, but will eventually go away. However, this is a subscription based game and IMO if enough paying players feel compelled to petition then NCSOFT have an obligation to resolve it.
Now I'm off to add broadcast and arena back to my alts - let's see what's out there -

Hey!!!! Gratz Kat!!!!
Glad you made it, a lot of debt under the bridge since I teamed with you, Mes and the gang in the Hollows
Well played!! -
Well done to Master Lupis for being the first of the Tyrants of Ghostwidow to earn lvl 40!!
Well played ML -
Thanks all,
Been some great moments over the months on the road to 50, and aside from the guys I've regulary teamed with ( well, until CoV turned my head - evil thing ) I met some great players these last couple of weeks!!
Thanks to you all -
Gratz Mack!!!
Glad to have made your acquaintance, you're a good player and without you being an excellent shot stopper on some tough missions over the last week I would have more debt than Mike Tyson
Gratz!!!! -
Well done Az!!!
Glad to have helped in the final leg - well done -
Gratz Aubrey
Only joined you for parts of that ride on the final week, but I know you deserve it!!
Well done!! -
Not an expert, but had power boost on my Energy Blaster until the last respec, and am thinking of putting it back in as I do miss it. It was nice to hit Power Boost before going in to drop Total Focus on a boss then watching them stagger around with swirly clouds above their head
It gives a 100% boost for 15 seconds to secondary effects of powers, like Knockback, Defence Buffs, Disorientate Duration etc.
For more info check out the link to a guide on the US boards that I found useful when putting Captain Tempest together.

I'll need to check when I go back in, but I think floor and ceiling trims are optional in rooms.
Thanks for the replies guys -

Miss Tell..."OMG I accidentally told my team mate I loved him instead of my girlfriend on the other channel!!!!"

Like when I was having a chat with a friend about nude photos (don't ask ), hit backspace to reply and accidently sent it to the toon who had just invited me to team. I think they thought I wanted a dodgy signing on bonus
Thanks for that Silver Weasel -
One that I've always wanted to know the origin of:
MT when posting on the wrong chat channel.
Can anyone shed any light on that? -
You know me - better late than never
Glad to have been there to see that one, well played BT -
Gratz Zhaan!!!
Sorry I couldn't be there for that, but I'll find you in game with CT to make some noise in person!!!
Well done m8 -
I can't seem to add floor trim to floors in doorways.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a know issue? And if I am doing something wrong, how do I get my lovely wall to wall green tinged arcane floor trims back on track? Do I just need some railway sleepers and MDF? -
The Tyrants of Ghostwidow are looking for competent villains to join forces and embark on total domination of the Rogue Isles!! Our base will be fully operational within a week, and then we will crush all who stand before us - Mwuhahahahaha!!
Seek the following notorious Rogue Isles operatives for information:
Major Brutality
Master Lupis
Chainwolf
Bad Jane
Black Baroness
Flawed Angel
** Okay, RL stuff We are the villainous SG of The Older Gamers community - that used to make me think of Terry Wogan and Radio 2, but it just means all our players are aged 25 or over. want to know more about TOG?
We currently have 8 active CoV players. We have a couple more players off on holiday and around 5 other players just getting their heroes through the last few levels to 50 in CoH before they fully join the game.
We are not heavily into PvP but we are into community and having fun. That said, as PvP is a part of CoV, forming a PvP wing of the Tyrants to pwn our enemies may well be on the cards
If you want to know more speak to any of the names listed above for info ** -
Ah - fair point
No point winning the FA cup if you don't have enough cash to build a trophy room.
I feel my point about SG migration and the best toys is still valid, but you're right ... it will take a long time to gain the prestige needed to even be in the game -

It was already hard to get new supergroups off the ground, but when a new player is given the choice between a big supergroup with a fully functioning base, and a small supergroup with a non-functional base (because they can't afford one) which are they more likely to pick?

I'm going to use football as an analogy.
A big club with a massive backer, an amazing ground, coaching staff, history of success etc is going to be the ultimate club to join. Players need to be noticed by scouts, given trials, and ultimately dropped if they do not deliver.
Still, even big clubs crumble. Smaller clubs can pull out a win on the day, other medium clubs become big, changes happen at board level, big name players stay loyal to local clubs etc.
The point I'm trying to make is that it is inevitable that there will be a number of "Super" SGs in game. But everyone will have a chance to use better strategies to overcome their defences and to grab the IoPs away (admittedly, the chances are you wont hold on to it for very long ... ) or to give people a good kicking !!
Another potential threat to a "Super" SG is that there are not enough roles for all to perform. Regardless of all the toys, perks, status of being in a big club, if players don't have a real voice or role then they will walk, or set up their own smaller SG to direct themselves. Im sure there are a number of working models for successful Super SGs out there and I hope people will share them to enhance gaming experiences, but the vast majority of "spammed" recruitment boosted groups will most likely fall into decline without depth of player involvement.
I'd rather be in a smaller group with players I've come to know and trust, locking horns with a nemesis of the same size, then being a 2nd or 3rd string player in a big group with no thought given to players beyond how much prestige they add to the bottom line.
