Thank you all for the feedback, it's been useful! Yes, I do in fact have the money for the glad proc. It's basically the whole reason I have unstoppable in this build. It's not a power I plan on using under any normal circumstance. The reason for soft capped defenses outright is I want to be able to stand up to and tank an AV, not just crowds of enemies. And invincibility is mostly for redundant defense values for when the enemy has to-hit buffs and the like.
However, after taking some of the feedback into consideration I've revised the build to beef up attacks with minimal loss to defenses and accuracy bonuses:

My build goals with this were soft capped defenses, reasonably decent resists and solid end recovery with a moderate amount of global recharge, as well as good accuracy bonuses. Overall I think I accomplished all these goals, however I thought I'd submit the build here to see if anyone had thoughts for improvement without making it too much more expensive than it already will be. The biggest issue I see with this build plan is damage output may suffer a bit due to some of the lower level sets.

Anyone at all?
Mostly what I want is to be able to Solo AV's/Heroes and take x8 spawns with this build. (If that's even possible.) Any advice from seasoned SS/WP players would be much appreciated. -
This is just a rough draft and i'll probably change it based on any suggestions I get here. Basically what I am trying to do with my Brute is focus on softcapping defenses and maximizing recharge while throwing in plenty of end recovery to compensate for the many toggles ill be running. I accomplished the recharge/endurance goals but was only able to attain a moderate amount of NE/E/F/C defense. I'd like to keep all the powers in this build, but I am open to changing slots around and all that. Assume inf is not an issue (minus pvp recipes) Here is the build I have now:

I would also note that I am synergizing this build with a friend that I play with regularly. So we figured between our two FFG's, were not gonna need resistance.

The big difference I noticed in your suggested modifications is an extra +20% reccharge, defense stayed about the same, a little more, and damage bonus only took a soso hit. There was one thing I was wondering about though. Why remove the procs from caltrops? Do you suppose you'd get higher dps out of it by just slotting rech/dam? I especially liked the knockdown proc for a little extra control.

RP Level: Moderate-Heavy
PvP Level: Casual, though being a SG inclined towards internal RP conflict, PvP is one possible way of resolving RP outcomes. This is, however, dependent on involved parties to agree that it be resolved with PvP. We use the honor system here, and members work closely with each other OOC to work out a way of resolution that doesn't ruffle any feathers. For the most part, our members are great about this.
Theme/Concept: Old World of Darkness, early Vampire: The Masquerade setting. The SG is designed in a way that allows all sects/clans a place in it. We are not a Cammarilla only, Anarch only, or Sabbat only, or clan X only, all clans and sect affiliations are welcome. Due to this, internal conflict and tension is a large part of the SG's RP. Also due to this, it is a mature themed SG and as such I would ask members be at least 18 years old.
Activity: We have many active members online on a nightly/daily basis, some active at night-early day, and others active from day-evening times.
Requirements for Membership: All we ask is that you have a desire to learn about the Old World of Darkness setting, or are already familiar with it. That being said, we ask that your characters powerset somehow be justified by the the clan you play. Other than that, just about anything goes. It's more loosely based, and as such were not going to ask anyone to whip out character sheets and whatnot all the time, it just isn't practical in the CoX game world.
Leadership: The red-star is held by me. OOC SG ranks have do not neccesarily have any effect on your IC status/position of power.

Granted as an earth/storm its very easy to avoid knockback issues with an aoe immobolize, which I would not have as a defender. So I imagine i'd need to work a different strategy. But am I comfortable and familiar with storm powers? Yeah, i'd say so.
Of course, I am open to suggestions on managing knockback without AoE immobolize. Also, I must confess this will be my first defender.
As for my friend, they have have decided on an illusion/rad controller. -
Well, I would say I solo and team about equal. I have a close friend that I Duo with a lot, and less occasionaly with SG mates. As for storm, i'm well aware of the knockbacks that can bother meleers. I've got several 50's and have been playing for almost 2 years. Usually my friend and I will try to compliment each others builds.

Title says it all...On one hand, psychic is a powerful damage set, while storm would compliment it by disrupting and controlling mobs while I pound them.
On the other hand, kin would of course, beef up psychics already good damage numbers a well as team members. the recharge is nice too.
So, thoughts? Comparisons? -
