I've dueled Dutchrad several times on my mind/psi, never had a trouble with him. Same with stormies. Mind gets an autohit hold with TK so opponents with -tohit toggles are not a big deal if you know what you're doing. Like someone already said, Shield tanks and elude are the biggest PITA but even then you can hit through their defense reliably with Dominate/Levitate/Mesmerize since those have no positional component.

makes perfect sense, but to put it context, my fire/elec who could hit people through pff 25%-35% of the time before the nerf had issues hitting dutchrad (albeit without tactics) when build up or FoN weren't up.
yeah in the end i won those matches, but the same can't be said of my grav/fire. that thing couldn't hit [censored] when toggle'd and facing rock armor.... hence why the people that were initially saying "grav/energy will be great!" need to stop sniffing the glue.
yeah, mind allows you to get away from those issues, but i'd be curious on how a storm plays out against your toon.... :-( i wish my acct was active..
but warhammer and tf2 are actually fun. -

The only problem I have with this combo is the -kb in earth negating the power push. Your thoughts.
Also, for anything /em, you could get tactics. That plus pb should put you close to the to hit cap. Of course, anything besides earth is going to probably take the mace mastery pool for more -def.

play it like a grav.
you don't spam your hold like an idiot, and you time your kbs for when the target is not -kb resistant. learning to do this will actually make you a more competent team dom (more often than not im first or second round pick on kickballs full of test pvpers on a lolzy grav/fire).
not that hard.

Probably depends on whether you are talking zone PvP or arena. I have no experience with arena PvP but your average guys running around a zone are probably not going to be in an optimized team so I'd call psi your best bet for getting past resistances there. Dedicated PvP groups? Sure. Random solos and Shivan / Nuke groups? Not so much...
And with the current state of PvP you're more likely to get action ambushing people who are doing Shivan or Nuke runs, badging, or running missions than you are finding dedicated PvP groups on most servers.

way wrong on the psi again.
elec, in zones, outperforms psi by a huge margin. psi only starts to compete against elec in sustained fights in the arena. -
bluesting is the lolzy energy blaster that talks [censored] for an hour, i get in, challenge him to a duel on an unfinished storm corruptor and just shuts up or suddenly gets severe downs (this second point is arguable.).

1. find dutchrad.
2. duel him in the arena. i think he's like the only half competent rad left in the game.
3. go duel anyone with scorpion shield well slotted. say power-trips plant/emp.
4. go duel a fort on anything other than an elec dom with build up.
in zones there's enough -def being thrown around that def is kind of a joke, but when you fight a toon that's prepared to make the best of his armors, a dom is gonna have massive issues.
better yet, go find a stormie that made a good +recovery build and was able to pick up rock armor (there must be one somewhere) or a storm corr with mace mastery... you'll see what i'm talking about. -

it needs to do more damage than fire to account for everyone and their mother having smashing damage resists (and fire has fiery embrace anyways). -

mind/psis and ice/psis are still gonna be top melee killers though. -

Mind/Psi is still psi damage, so it's going to be the least resisted over all. Mind will still have Repel and Confuse, which are less resisted effects. /Psi is also getting a lot more burst damage, so Mind/Psi should still be good.
Grav/Fire might also be interesting. Fire Bolt is getting a damage boost, as is Blazing Bolt (all snipes actually) if you get a chance to pull it off. And you still have Blaze and Fiery Embrace. With the new "phased characters can affect each other" rule, Dimension Shift plus Phase and Fire's high burst damage could be amusing...

Are you gonna take a look at Dom Primaries? There's a lot of inconsitencies between them, especially relating to -kb effects. Things like frostbite from ice/* nullify set defining powers like ice slick.
Grav's -kb on the hold is also somewhat counter to having lift present in the set.
Are you taking a look at dom primaries or are the changes gonna be about secondaries only? -
finally, the zone will not be stalker vs. stalker...
at the point the dom buff is making it so that it might be worthwhile playing a dom instead of a stalker in every pvp situation as long as you aren't facing stalkers. when facing stalkers, storms + doms + blasters wreck those. people might have to do that weird thing and learn to play. -
hiber is a death sentence in zones gibs. if you can't kill someone coming out of hiber, you really don't deserve the kill (how hard is it to kb a target with 0 kb protection for like 3 seconds coming out of hiber). the only toon that can consistently get ouf of hiber without dying are grav doms/trollers with the cage or dual phasing idiots (pretty horrible build idea).
phase isn't really an issue. just take phase and kill the person. not that hard. once more, if you can't kill a quick phaser, you don't deserve the kill.
heal decay in zones i can deal with, movement suppression is what gets people killed by subpar opponents though :-\ -
fun fact, the day i left, forst eld h was relatively bad [censored] compared to the idiots that cropped up in AC after my three day ban + with vori leaving + vert gone + hot heals permabanned.

I'd take a long look at /eng, especially if SC is where you want to be.
By 30 it has, full ranged attack chain that includes a mag 16 kb. It has the most melee damage at that level. And I still really like powerboost.

again, without -def, you're gonna have huge issues. otherwise, with psw out of the picture, /psi and /fire are gonna be pretty neat at sc level (blaze doesn't amount to as much damage as it used to in i12). -
i dont like your power picks lol.
i also don't like pff that much... a +hp build with hibernate generally does really well in zones and in the arena.
you also have no perception and no resists to -tohit debuffs from tactics, and that's gonna hurt you A LOT.
i'll make a build sometime in the next few days.... -

take quicksand and if you can fit it stalagmites (this stuff i know from how quicksand used to make me scream at sora on his earth/psi and stalagmites is op (duel with ownage's earth/energy)).
try it. you'll see what im talking about. -

Right, no slotting I just pulled them offa the toon creator before running out to mercy with my new grav/energy dom.
From Mids (I know its not always accurate) PVP damage for T.Strike and Focus would be:
T.Strike/Focus: 252 (The same actually!)
When Dom is turned on: 441
That's unslotted. Still with permadom being unavailable in PVP I'd think this would be a good thing overall.
