    Parkour: a physical discipline of French origin in which participants run along a route, attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible, as if moving in an emergency situation, using skills such as jumping and climbing, or the more specific parkour moves. The object is to get from a Point A to a Point B using only the human body and the objects in the environment around you. The obstacles can be anything in one's environment, but parkour is often seen practiced in urban areas because of the many suitable public structures that are accessible to most people, such as buildings and rails.
    The official definition from the American Parkour website says, "Parkour is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one's path by adapting one's movements to the environment."

    The sport has existed for a while, guess you just learned a new word today.
  2. How's this for Parkour?

  3. I find it odd that most of your complaints are actually solved redside, yet you "can't get into playing a villain". Villains play like Heroes, the only real different AT are MMs. I enjoy playing redside because all the crap you complained about is blueside. Maybe you should actually try playing a villain again.
  4. Ooooh, try mine! Try mine!

    I mean, add Arc 3740, Wrath of the Luddites to the list please.

  7. My first day playing CoH, shortly after i3, I was given a mission sending me to the Hollows. So I look at my map, and see that the quickest way to get from Galaxy City to the Hollows is through Skyway. So at level 5 I began a day long trek on foot thru purple filled territory to try to get to my contact, dying so often and retracing my steps that I actually gave up on the game for several weeks in frustration.

    Only when I returned later did I discover the secret of trains, and how one could have taken me to Atlas Park...
  8. My first weekend home after being deployed for 2 months, so I didn't get much game time. I did squeeze in a few missions and got Supaari VaParagon, Spines/Elec Scrapper, from 32->37.
  9. I've been away from home for 2 months, and DXPW falls on the one weekend I get to spend with my family. So I plan on playing with my kid (and my wife ), don't expect me online

  12. My Double XP Weekend is done. Final tally:

    Silverslice WP/DB Tank 39 -> 50
    pacted with Svipul Grav/FF Troller
    Alpha Aquilae DP/WP Brute 43 -> 50
    Frau Tarantul Night Widow 32 -> 50 (that makes a 50 of each Villain AT)
    Phoenix Mk.VI Fire/Fire Blaster 14 -> 24
    pacted with Paragon FCU Fire/Therm Troller
    Mercury Cougar Rad/Rad Corr 10 -> 25
    pacted with Obsidian Puma Dark/Dark Brute
    Guardian of Steel Sonic/NRG Defender 29 -> 40

    And since my wife isn't able to log into the new forums:
    ZOMGWTFBBQ Spines/Fire Scrapper 47 -> 50
    pacted with Kirshou Moon Arch/NRG Blaster
    Agent A Peacebringer 1 -> 40
    Rogue Ivy Plant/Thorn Dom 31 -> 39
    o.0 Bane Spider 30 -> 40

    That's my last gaming weekend for a long time. I have an airshow to go work and then a year of training for my new trade.

    Cheers Guardianites

    MY OPINION IS THAT AT CURRENT MARKET PRICES PURPLE RECIPES ARE NOT WORTH THE INVESTMENT. And that the people willing to drop 25% of the inf cap on a single recipe should be investigated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    why should people be investigated? because they have an easier time making money playing the markets then you do? if you haven't noticed the prices at the RMT sites has been going down drastically because, imo, no one is using them and they are trying to get people to use them. they are a dying thing in this game and soon enough won't be around. they had nothing to do with the skyrocketing prices, the AE did.

    when people stopped doing regular farms and the supply decreased of purples, i watched them go from 50-60 mil a pop to 100 mil a pop. then as time went by and supply became nil i watched them go from 100 mil or so a pop to 200 mil a pop. why? because people had made enough money from the AE to afford it. obviously you haven't been apying attention to this or you would never have suggested people being investigated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    LOL, I've hit a sore spot. Well, I hope you came across your inf honestly when you put 500mil or more on a recipe. This convo is going nowhere. Goodbye.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    you haven't hit any sore spot with me. and i have never spent anymore then 100 mil on anything. and seeing as how i make roughly, on the small end of it, 500 mil a week selling at the markets i have no reason to worry.

    and you astill haven't answered the question as to why you wan't people investigated. simple to answer if you had any idea what you were talking about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    OK, I'll come back to answer this.

    I just figure that a person willing to pay real money for in-game currency is more likely to dump a large sum of said currency on a single item. In other words they have less respect for the currency than a person who actually plays, farms or marketeers to earn it. And tracking down the players who purchase inf thru RMT sellers would lead to the sellers themselves, making it easier to get rid of them. I realize some people have honestly earned very large sums of inf and they can do what they please with it. I just see 100mil inf = 5 hours work, and I base my bids on that. Whereas a person who's willing to pay whatever the going RMT rate currently is, simply sees 2bil inf as easily earned and easy to spend. I do believe RMT has a destabilizing effect on the market, especially in low supply areas such as purple and PvP recipes. I can't say how big an effect, and I don't believe eliminating RMT will seriously reduce prices, but will only alleviate incidences of crazy spending (like Beefcake's 1.2bil Panacea proc sale). So I simply had the idea that flagging large purchases for investigation would help track down RMT sellers, much like police will look for large luxury purchases to track down thieves and drug-dealers.

    do I WANT to drop 500mil on a single recipe?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    get out of the IWANTITNAO mind set and place a bid that is just enough to get what you want and wait. that is how i do it. might take a day or a week. but you will get it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I currently have 3 bids outstanding for an Armageddon triple and 2 Apocalypse triples. Each bid is for slightly over 100mil, and have been sitting for a month. I WANT those recipes, but considering the amount of work it takes me to make 100mil, I believe they are not worth more than that. Yet people are paying 200-500mil redside for these. I guess they want it more NAO than I do, and have more spare time to make that inf. Mr. Quint, stop acting like everyone around you is a noob and get over yourself. Not everyone thinks 10-25% of the inf cap for a single recipe is a worthwhile investment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    so what are you doing with the drops that you get that you don't need? selling them to a vendor? why not spend some time at the market doing some research bout the recipe and made enhancement and see which is going for more then sell it in the way that will get you the highest amount. doesn't take a genius to figure that out. then you won't just be earning inf from doing the run but also from marketing your stuff you don't want/need at this time.

    oh and just because most people stil don't seem to understand: PURPLES ARE SUPPOSSED TO BE ULTRA RARE. get over it.

    i have plenty of toons that i would like to have purples in but i don't. big freakin deal. i wait for them to drop or wait for a bid to fill.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Wow! I've learned so much from you in the last 30min than I have from reading this forum since i9 went live! /sarcasm off

    Get over yourself dude, I've learned these lessons already. I know how to make inf in game. MY OPINION IS THAT AT CURRENT MARKET PRICES PURPLE RECIPES ARE NOT WORTH THE INVESTMENT. And that the people willing to drop 25% of the inf cap on a single recipe should be investigated.

    And also, I'd like to see any purchase of 500mil or more flag that account for investigation of RMT. Before you jump into an uproar, if you earned that Inf the honest way, then you have nothing to worry about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    you do realize how many accounts that would put under investigation correct? you also do realize having been around since before i9 and the invention system was introduced that alot of people had toons with hundreds of millions sitting around doing nothing? think before you speak, plz.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not that many actually. This game has maybe at most 100K subscribers, and I'd say maybe 1% have ever had more than 1bil on a character at any time. Also, said investigation could most probably be done completely in the background, with an honest customer never even knowing it was happening. Only the guilty would have anything to fear.

    [ QUOTE ]
    you also realize that almost anything can be gotten by running a few missions in ae and rolling your tickets. the only acceptions are purples and PvP recipes.

    if you guys want more chances to drop things then set your diff to 4 and run regular missions. you will get harder, more populated spawns.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    How else do you think I've been purpling my toons dude? I'm farming just as hard, if not harder than most, and I'm getting REALLY tired of having to farm for my shinies. And it's not "a few missions". I'm talking about 8-12 hours of farming missions on Ruthless only to get 1 or no purples. And after hours of working making that inf, do I WANT to drop 500mil on a single recipe? Hell no! The drop rate is sick, it needs fixing. The simple fact some people are willing to spend upwards of 500mil for a recipe mean they don't have respect for that amount of currency, which means it was probably rather easy to come by.
  19. Personally all I'd like the devs to do is simply increase drop rates and reduce merit/ticket values across the board. Simply increase the supply and don't make us work so hard for the shinies we want.

    And also, I'd like to see any purchase of 500mil or more flag that account for investigation of RMT. Before you jump into an uproar, if you earned that Inf the honest way, then you have nothing to worry about.
