The EU servers smell funny, you don't want to play there

Quote:Of course. My point is that the main purpose of defender attacks is to deal damage, the debuffs are a bonus to that, not the main point of the attacks.Adeon: If you have a damage set with debuffs you are going to be debuffing while you are actively trying to deal damage, unless you take a set without any. The difference here is that when I build a defender I try to take a set that has debuffs, rather than a pure damage set like archery.
The debuffs are nice but (with the possible exception of sonic) have less impact on the overall battle than the damage the blasts do. There's nothing wrong with selecting a set based on the debuffs (although if you're doing that then it's pretty much Sonic all the way) but once you have the set your attacks are attack powers not debuff powers. -
Just a general thought/suggestion. It would be nice to extend the server transfer discout through the next week so that people who want to take advantage of the server merge to move characters between the NA/EU servers can get the discout.

I suspect it's an oversight but I figure it'll get fixed at the same time as Time Bomb.

This is a common misconception, the reality is that while players frequently have little or no resistance to Psi NPCs quite frequently resist it. The majority of non-sentient NPCs (robots, zombies etc.) resist it as do most psychic NPCs. I did some checking on the old NPC resistance chart and my general conclusion was that Psi is more heavily resisted than the elemental damage types.
The advantage of Seers in terms of offense is that they provide moderate control along with their damage (the boss has a hold and a strong knockup, the Lt has a chance to hold). -

Quote:I really don't think that's enough to explain it though. I have at the moment at least 12 billion inf on my characters (ignoring market "storage") so if the graphic was correct my characters are holding about 20% of the inf currently on characters which I really, really doubt is the case.I think they're counting actually "on character." (I want to say CIT does this too, but I'd have to check or have a CIT person say.)
EDIT: I bet if we polled the market forum regulars we could come up with more than 56 billion inf even neglecting market "storage" -
Quote:They are 50% off this weekend:Thanks guys. I'm on freedom. What's the deal with server transfers these days? Are they free? Or will they ever be free again?

As for free transfers, it's always possible that it will happen again but I wouldn't plan on it. -

It depends a bit on how you slot. In my case both Acid Mortar and Seeker Drones are Frankenslotted. PGT does have a Lockdown set in it so it isn't quite ED capped for Recharge though. Triage Beacon has Doctored Wounds which isn't necessarily the best set for bonuses (Numina has a Ranged Defense bonus whilst Panacea has a better recharge bonus) but has the distinct advantage of being able to ED cap Recharge and Healing with 5 slots (for comparison "upgrading" to a Panacea set would require a 6th slot to keep the recharge slotting up).

In honor of our newest mod I present the funniest joke in the world:
Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer?
Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput! -
I was on a 12-man BAF last night which was almost lag free (I did have some trouble targeting newly escaped prisoners).

Sooooo.... basically you're making a new channel and giving it a name that's VERY similar to an old channel in an attempt to make people think it's an offshoot of the same channel? Is that about right?

I think a better option would be to use the SSK code, your combat level increases to the minimum for the arc but you get no additional powers. Making content without rewards is pretty much pointless, you'll get a few people playing it for the badges but that's about it.

The problem with -1 is that any set IO recipes you get (except for purples) will be level 49 instead of 50. Now admittedly a lot of the regular drop set IOs aren't that valuable anyway but in general level 50 recipes are worth more on the market than level 49s.

Yeah, if you want a gun set I'd strongly recommend Assault Rifle over Dual Pistols in terms of damage (DP does have better debuffs). AR's AoEs are quite a bit stronger and while it's weaker in terms of direct ST damage the immobilize + ignite combo takes care of that (and for Defenders Ignite does Blaster level damage).

That was fixed in the last patch, Caltrops, Acid Mortar, Seeker Drones and Trip Mine should now all proc it correctly. Caltrops is now a proc nuke so expect it to get nerfed at some point.

Here's what I did on my Bots/Traps;
Alpha: I went for Musculature. The choice here is, I think, heavily build dependent. Accuracy is very important on the trials, you really want to have Tactics and have all your pets ED capped for Accuracy, so if you don't have that Nerve is nearly essential, but worthless otherwise. Cardiac is of very limited utility for a Bots/Traps MM. Spiritual versus Musculature is a tough choice. I went Musculature since I am currently at about 80% global recharge from IOs which I find sufficient for my needs. Traps is very recharge dependent but recharge is something that suffers from diminishing returns, in my case adding spiritual would change my recharge times on 90 second powers from about 34 seconds to 29 seconds which in my opinion is less useful than a 30% damage boost for my bots.
Judgement: This is mostly a personal choice, I went Pyronic for Theme reasons.
Lore: Again a mostly personal choice. I went Core Seers since I find the support pets lacking and theme-wise Seers were the best fit. If you do go for a support pet Seers is probably the worst choice. Clockwork provides the best heal and defense bonuses and the Battle orbs provide an AoE defense boost which is nice for your bots (although they don't keep it up all the time which is annoying).
Interface: Dech's pretty much covered it. For solo play Reactive is the best option (even assuming they change the current Caltrops Nuke) but it's overused in team play so you might want something else.
Destiny: Rebirth is the best option here IMHO although personally I went for regen over hit points. I think there are solid arguments both ways, personally my feeling is that the regen stacked with Triage Beacon makes it well worth it. Normal regen pulses every 12 seconds, Triage Beacon alone decreases this to 3.1 seconds, stacking Rebirth on tops of that decreases it to every 2 seconds which increases your average HP/sec by about 50%. The extra HP are nice but I see them as a way to take a heavy alpha rather than as an long term survival boost. In any case, I think it's a personal preference more than anything else. -
Quote:You can also get it (and a bunch of other Baen books) from the free CDs which are archived here (and before anyone asks, yes, it's legal the CDs come with permission to distribute):What's the name of this novel? I have a Barnes and Noble gift card sitting around somewhere that I need to use.

Of course, I'd still encourage you to buy it since it encourages Baen to keep putting out the CDs.

Honestly I don't know. I don't have anywhere near that amount of inf and I'm already running out of ideas on how to spend it. With the Incarnate system I'm only really playing three characters, and those two of them already have pretty much top of the line builds. The other one still needs some tweaking but I doubt I could spend to much on him. I'm to lazy to IO characters that I'm not going to use.
I could make a private base but I did the math on that and converting 2billion inf to prestige provides enough to make a fully functional base so it's not a huge usage. -

Archery has a large bonus to Accuracy (1.15 compared to 1 for most powers and 1.05 for AR) which means less need to slot for Accuracy which in turn means more slots for other things, so it's an indirect benefit. For example a Defender with slotted Tactics could realistically manage with no accuracy slotting in all attacks except Rain of Arrows on +0 or +1 and only needs 1 enhancement for higher difficulties.

Quote:http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...ortar_DefenderI checked on City of Data earlier but i've not been finding the values for many of the Defender pseudopets under Traps. That's why I figured i'd have to just test them out in game later on. Can you pull up and link the Defender pseudopets? The only values I can see are for the Corruptor and Mastermind versions of Traps.
