I like this idea.
Though it'd look a little odd, if you wanted to have both Shorts and Jeans on at the same time. Toggle? -
I don't see them using microtransactions for actual tangible in-game changes.
Costumes are not game-breaking. Enhancement slots are. Huge difference. It would only make their own lives and development of the game miserable. -
Yes, it would be very different - name changes and extra CHARACTER or MA slots do not in any way alter the way the game itself is played. Buying boosters with costume equipment and well-thought out non-enhance-able powers does not affect game play.
Putting slots into any character *does*, immediately, change the way the game is played and the effects which that character can use.
While the method might eventually work, buying things outside in microtransactions is just fine with me, the problem isn't HOW they're bought, but how they're implemented.
If everyone gets them, that's fair, and balancable.
If only people who can AFFORD them, can get them, that's neither fair NOR balancable because there will be people who cannot hope to have the same enhancement-ability.
Just like buying vetran months for rewards ahead of time - this is not fair to anyone who cannot afford them. If there was a way IN the game to do so, such as a task / strike force or difficult set of missions, that's more reasonably fair because evryone who plays would then get the same chance AT the slots.
But even then, you're dealing with rebalancing the way powers work.
If people are discovering they can stick more slots and get 25% more damage than before, *those powers may get nerfed* rather than give up the slots. Or, enhancements themselves may get yet another hit to their efficiency.
Long term - either everyone gets the same chance at them, where no serious rebalancing is needed, or no one can get them, because buying into extra game-involved advantages is *not* what microtransactions are supposed to be for. -
The problem is that with some combinations, as you must have seen in the Mission Architect missions, they're WAY over powered, and with the potential to be completely gimped too.
The game is balanced very well right now. Think about how many people play with very, very different expectations than yourself - how would this affect the rest of the players who didn't want to become supermagetankman? -
No, not really considering the balance issues that would then have to be considered. Even one extra slot would change a LOT of how people would do things. While some might not even use it, others would pile it on and min/max and tweak and have a clear advantage in arena and pvp.
I'd like to be able to have more slots *in general*, but not buying them. -
Well, thankfully for me I'm actually allergic to milk and wheat, so my intake of, say, cheese or ice cream is dramatically curtailed already. plus, I can't have potatos any more My lack of exercise has really been my problem though. In the 2 years I've been out of work, I've gained all those pounds just pretty much by not being up on my feet and walking around a shop. :/
FYI avocados: http://www.avocado.org/healthy-living/nutrition
Calories 50, from fat 35. So yeah, they're on a slightly different scale, but they're otherwise enormously good for you. Many nuts are high in fat, witness how they make oil from them -
I just call it money.
Maybe their economy worked on barter for many hundreds of years, and only recently got involved with any kind of non-item trade.
That's it, and I'm sticking with it. lol -
Dang, what's your diet / exercise plan!
I need to drop about 30 lbs. It's all in my legs/rear, sadly. -
Or blocking from certain addresses. Since players use the American servers from all around the world, I would imagine that if you don't have lag issues and no blockages, you're good to go.
And: >_>
I hope you stay safe while you're there. -
Might want to upgrade that into a full on "correct it this way" area I don't do wiki editing, m'self.
-
No one used the Arenas already in most servers...
I would say I'd like a slightly more restricted entrance to the MA as well, though I'd base it less on having a 50 or an arbitrary level, more on actual time playing the game itself.
.... Oooh.
Maybe there should be an accolade for having done tutorials - completing the outbreak/breakout tutorial, then the Inventions one, and perhaps adding something else for the MA itself, and ONLY THEN can you start up working in the ma? It might be an account-wide accolade, though, since it'd kinda suck to have to earn it each time. But playing through them would give even a slight nod to "learning the game" and being able to play outside the MA.
Arena and PVP matches are best organized here or on supergroup websites, really, it just seems like there's not a good way to actually ORGANIZE an arena match on the fly.
I'm sure that there will be changes and progress as time goes on though. -
Is anyone keeping track of some of these occasional odd bits? They come up JUST often enough that it'd be nice to be able to say "here's the fix" in a collected list. There's probably one somewhere, but is it up on, say, the wiki?
-
No, no, I was a bit worried there too...
-
Make sure you're not running firewalls that interfere with your connection.
-
You've still got a minimum of 12 slots per server, maximum of 36 each, so ... make whatever it occurs to you to make
-
Oh my, yes - Sorry to hear about your friend, but everything you say is true.
I realized that in a month or so, the San Diego Comic Con is coming up, and I know that in my current state of body affairs, I won't be able to walk from end to end of that building without being exhausted.
I'm definitely going to have to get off my chair and get outside again. It's sad that these things require such a terrible heads-up to remember. -
Welcome back!
Leveling in this game is ridiculously easy. Debt has been reduced further than it had when you were playing, plus now we get "patrol xp" which is basically 1.5 xp for characters who've been logged off. It effectively cancels debt, too.
For servers, it really depends on what you want out of gaming. If you don't want to have a lower pop, seek out Justice, Freedom or Virtue, but be aware that Freedom and Virtue both get capped and locked during high-load events.
MAJOR changes can all be found on the paragonwiki (someone clever will link it shortly) and all the other info on what you might have missed in the meantime is there too. -
I always put them in my snipes, along with recharges.
I also slot range in buffs, someone earlier mentioned that. I try and use as many of the different effects just because I like each of my characters to be *different* from others with those powers. -
Congratulations! I'd say pics or it didn't happen but that might be a very, very bad idea
-
Ask a Vet is pretty good. But yeah I agree it's not really a big deal if people don't bother reading the descriptions. We'll answer them some how.
-
Hehehehe.
In as much as any other internet meme goes, I do indeed liek mudkips.
>_> Hell I have W Iggy Tuff and Pia K Chuu on Infinity. -
Because right in the subtext it says,
[ QUOTE ]
Players helping players find information related to CoH/CoV.

It doesn't say anything about devs answering anything there already, I think the issue is that a lot of people will NEVER realize that certain things can only be answered by a dev.
Those things change and evolve, though, and over time plenty of long-term players have answers which might at first seem obscure to questions that a dev way back when had answered.
I think a change that might work better, though, is
"Game-Related Questions" rather than just "player questions". Player questions is way too generic and broad. Game related questions or perhaps Game Play Questions might work better as being more specific. -
I would make a character named Jpowerranger and have this as their logo.
