Instead of the usual Scrapper I thought I'd bring a tank this time, ran the first 8 of the arc and shall leave the last mission for sunday afternoon so I'm not stuck in PD for the rest of the week

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, that's what I would have done, were I substantially cleverer.
  2. Does that work? If I complete Wildflower and port to Pocket D, can I park there indefinitely and the Kronos will spawn when I leave, even if it's days later? If so, it'll save a lot of timing issues for me!
  3. My Blaster is up to that mission. Will park outside the mission - let's hope I remember this is on!
  4. Awesome sauces. I'm good as gold for Union or Defiant. If anyone needs lifts from airport (you can walk from train or bus station, it'd be quicker than me driving) or anywhere around Norwich, just yell.

Maybe people are playing at the wrong time of day?

The inconsiderate cads. Ingrates, the lot of them.

    NaNoWriMo

I had a crack last year, but this is my Masters year at uni, so I don't expect to have time. Last year I got to somewhere round 6k words. For me that was loads, especially considering I was immensely proud of the high-quality work I'd written. If I ever have time, I'll continue with it. It isn't CoH-orientated, though. Once we hit November, I'll up what I did last year, just in case I do get a break in the work schedule.

Incidentally, my NaNoWriMo profile will be here. I've chucked the first couple of chapters from last year in as my Bio, just for kicks.
  7. Still a yes from me, I'm afraid. May have to get Cass to remind me nearer the time. Lack of interweb is sucky.
  8. The scary one, for me, was adding up the hours I spent playing. Then multiplying that by minimum wage.
  9. What you need to remember about PvP, is that unless you have a specialised build and lots of PvP'ing friends, you will die, horribly and repeatedly.

I've been assured many times in-game and on the boards that anyone can take part in and enjoy PvP - that's still as nonsensical a statement today as it always was.

You will be teleported away from your base and stabbed, over and over and over again, until you have the good sense to choose 'go to base', and never enter PvP again. At least, that's how it's always been for me
  10. I see no reason I couldn't attend on any of those dates. Sign me up.
  11. Battlenet's just down the road. I could manage this!

The reward nurfing still concerns me greatly
'Dev' content > new 'Rateable' mission
'Dev approved' content > 'Rateable' mission
So who's gonna waste hours of ingame rewards just to 'rate' new missions?

Me. I have plenty of inf, plenty of 50's, plenty of IO's slotted. I mostly log in for my mates and to fiddle around with the costume creator.

For me, it'll be a really good way to express creativity and to test the creativity of others; the rewards, to me, are bigger than inf or xp.

I can't fault your perspective; you're xp-driven, and that's fine, you play the game how you enjoy it. But remember that some of us are driven by alternative carrots.
  13. I'm in two minds about the idea. I've seen it done, especially in the early days when there were only a few major SG's, and it can look fantastic. Have a look at the screenie Roentgen posted; that's just SG colours and chest detail, and it looks brilliant. To see a team in uniform always looks great.

However, ask a random selection of players what their favourite things about CoH is, and high on the list will always be the costume creator; the diversity of costumes is absolutely brilliant. To suppress that in favour of a uniform is almost criminal.

The closest TANC ever got was sometimes appearing sporadically in the SG colours, British racing green and cream.
  14. Needs more debuffs. And one of the toggles should have a 20' radius mag3 hold.
  15. To be frank, much of that is going over the top; with the ability to design maps, the boss unit, write boss and mob dialogue and string together arc text, we're already in territory that lets the creative juices flood. Don't make the hollywood mistake and assume that more toys and effects will mean better missions. I know everything I'll need from it will be catered for if I can do all mentioned previously. Cutscenes would help a great deal, but aren't essential.

from what I've seen, the mission editor will be more than enough to be as creative as we like; naturally, we wish for the moon on a stick as well.

    Agreed.

    Totally.

    True.

    Balderdash.
  17. Crikey Diddler, you were on the sewer trial? Thank Christ I was detained elsewhere :P

    Illegitimates, the lot of em.
  19. And... TF completed! Apparently. Although we were still fighting through the cysts.
  20. So... the reason I've stuck with the game for over three years isn't actually possible? DAMN YOU, DEVS! I demand a datamine. And a buff.
  21. I'm up for the ITF, but can only put myself down as a maybe for the Sewer Trial; I'll know by about 1400 whether I'll be around for sewers.

ITF; if there's SK space, I'd like to bring along a 44 Ice/Ice blaster. Else I have a 50 Emp def, kin def, Inv tank, Energy brute or Ar blaster. Happy to bring any. It'd be the same story for the Sewer trial (except, not the brute.)
  22. I find getting things perma can be a little frustrating. Brawl, for example - 0.83 second cast time, six recharges at level 50 will get recharge time down to 0.93s - Almost perma. Needing to spend hundreds of millions on IO sets to get enough bonuses to perma it, but by god I'll manage.
