Best thing is just to practice, practice and probably more practice. 
Also, it's worth trying PvP with other ATs, especially as you seem to have a AR/Dev (/Device blasters are great for newbie stalker hunting), to see how they view stalkers and then learn from that.

Get yourself to the stealth cap, hide+stealth+stealth IO. Dont even bother with pvp on your stalker till you do.
Siren's Call is the perfect zone for your blaster and stalker. Devices performs best in Siren's imo.
Team when you can and watch other players.
Always have BF's on your blaster.
You will get kills on both, just on your stalker at first go for squishier targets. On your blaster tripmines,webnade,tp foe and trops are powerfull weapons.
Recluses Victory is a great zone but there are a lot more powers in action and the AT imbalance in Siren's evens out imo.
I think buildwise you need to build up your own playstyle and spec accordingly. Two people could play the same AT/sets with a totally different build and both be good players. Also Siren's builds need to be tighter with the lvl 30 cap. For instance a lot of stalkers squeeze phase shift in before 30.
But in the main part, just have fun. You will get some verbal abuse as ppl just hate stalkers :P
and you'll also get verbal abuse like charnel for being on my global .... talk to me in game and we'll hepl u out hun :P

Can we have some form of stickied thread with tips/hints for new pvpers? Just be nice for a casual pvper (like myself) to find tips on how to improve/the do's and dont's of pvp.

Brute´s, scrappers,tanks and stalkers are the best way IMO to start pvp with. Yes you will probably get faceplanted when a experienced pvp´r with ranged powers such as blaster, troller, defender, domi, corr etc..but will help to understand how the game works, with kiting etc.
Stalkers have always been seen as the gods at pvp, but what they said before is the main thing hide+stealth+stealth IO is a must, as globey said all you can do is practice practice practice and get used to face planting alot before you get it right
the only real weakness a stalker has is a very high burst damage blaster ie Ice or Fire

Now u've actually gotta find some people in a PvP Zone, that's the most challenging part of PvP, getting opponents.

Bit dissapointed my new cold/psy defender isnt quite high enough yet for sirens 
Once again thanks to the player who gave me pvp advice in RV the other night and advised me to make a cold/psy defender, from the looks of things the -recharge alone looks deadly ^_^.
Btw for cold/ i cant see any powers that are skippable apart from the +stealth (cant remember name off the top of my head) power, all the others essential?

Never too strong!!! That guy in the big jacket who gave it to me said to take as many as i want and that it would all be ok xD!!! Ok i admit this was after i wouldnt leave him alone for roughly an hour of constant "what does it do?" but i wanted to make sure since i hadnt had lockets before! xD

What you need to remember about PvP, is that unless you have a specialised build and lots of PvP'ing friends, you will die, horribly and repeatedly.
I've been assured many times in-game and on the boards that anyone can take part in and enjoy PvP - that's still as nonsensical a statement today as it always was.
You will be teleported away from your base and stabbed, over and over and over again, until you have the good sense to choose 'go to base', and never enter PvP again. At least, that's how it's always been for me

1st thing to learn in pvp is to die, you will get killed 5 million times b4 you learn anything , imo, its a steep learning curve,but once your round the corner pvp can be awesomly fun, anyway some real tips now lol.
stalkers, great fun to play, my advice as newby stalker is to sit back and pick your target at the stealth cap you got all the time in the world to set up your kill.
you are hit and run,on my stalker if they aint dead in 3 hits im out of the fight and running almost always anyway,sometimes if target has 1 hp ill go for it and take the death as long as i get my kill 1st im happy to die,also play with your char dont get stuck into a rutine way of killing, you need to be able to adapt fast pvp winds of change blow very fast sometimes
blasters ,as a blaster never ever ever ever stay still,there are some stalkers that can kill with out AS but its hard work, devices is awesome in sirens,great fun to play with and can demolish stalkers once you get used to how the set works in pvp.
hopefully theres some help in here ,my only real advice is to get used to dieing,but if you stick at it and get round the corner its so much fun

I have a Nin/Nin Stalker and I would like to learn the mythical art that is PvP. I have already been made aware that Nin/Nin is not the best PvP stalker set but i refuse to toil my way though another 50 levels just to get a EM/** Stalker
What is the best way to learn how to PvP (at least relatively) successfully with my current stalker. Is it a case of 'learn from experience' or are there some handy guides out there in the fashion of 'PvP for Dummies'. Further to this does anyone have a build (including IOs) for a good PvP Stalker?
